The battle against Bill C51 is not over. Tony Clement has created an illusion that the government has listened to the people hoping that they aren't paying attention. There are so many problems with Bill C-51... amending it is not an option. Democracy was at work when the previous Government of Canada accepted the 53 recommendations and tabled Bill C420 as a result of listening to the concerns of the people. Bill C420 died with the election and Tony Clement tables Bill C51 which is the exact opposite of what Canadians had asked for.

We hear about such things as "working within the system" and imagine that this somehow applies to us. No, that is what THEY do, they hijack the system then work within it, like temites work within the timbers until the entire structure is eaten away and collapses.

Typically, they announce what they intend to do. The less opposition they expect, the more openly they are about it; they more opposition they expct, the more quietly they are, perhaps making no public announcement at all beyond what is required by law, such as publishing it in some venue no one normally reads. If no one makes a sound, they go ahead as planned. if there is a little noise they may "hold public hearings."

That is the time to make a LOT of noise. because "public hearings" sounds like they are upholding the "democratic process," giving the public a chance to be heard before THEY go ahead and do what they intended. It is in reality a means to gauge public opposition, to attempt tp learn in advance how much jeopardy they myy be putting themselves in. No noise simply tells them they have nothing to fear.

An incident in what I believe was Idaho County, Idaho, USA, is wonderfully illustrative of this in action: The County wanted to enact a laundry list of new ordinances that the people of the county objected to, of the types that most other Americans have to live with & suffer under because they weren't paying attention or didn't expect would pass because they didn't expect that their supposed "representatives" would actually do that to those they supposedly "represent."

But those people knew better: They showed up en masse at the little one room place where such "public hearings" normally attracted maybe two or three old folks with nothing better to do. The hearing was promptly rescheduled & relocated to a local high school gymnasium that quickly filled up with very angry people making their displeasure well known. Yes! Thanks Dr. M! I signed three physical petitions and also one online. . .Bill c-51 is history as it should be. . .I have been reading about it since I was 10 or so years old (my mom has always been into this "health stuff") and I used to read Alive magazine at that time. . .this bill has surfaced in many different forms over the last 15 or so years. . .for all my US brothers and sisters. . fight this stuff if it comes up in the US!

I just received a copy of Helke Ferrie's book "WHAT PART OF NO! DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND? It covers both bills C-51 & 52. Helke made certain that every MP received a copy.

Helke's vew is that "we need to take the government to court and do a Charter challenge on C-52 as soon as parliament resumes, so the committee cannot discuss it until the court has ruled. If we allow the committee process to start, the expert witnesses will be brought forward that the government wants, and the committee is stacked – mostly Liberals and Conservatives who both support this bill.

Why do they support this bill? Both bills are strictly intended to serve the purposes of NAFTA and now the Security and Prosperity Partnership Of North America (SPP). The US just brought in a law that takes liability away from the consumer of implants. This was the main reason Ireland voted no to the EU Constitution on June 12. I hate to bring not-so-good news!

Tony Clement may have stepped back on Bill C-51. It isn't a victory - people are missing a main pharmaceutical industry gain under the Bill: genetically-engineered plants are not required to be labelled under the bill. Ipso facto, genetically-engineered plants become "natural" health products. Not identifiable as genetically-engineered because they are not labelled.

The pharmaceutical companies are big into genetic-engineering, as are the chemical companies (bioteched food crops).

How do I know? I attended the Government meeting on bill C-51 when it was in Saskatoon and asked the question: are genetically-engineered plants required to be labelled under Bill C-51? The answer given by Government officials was "no".

There is still a lot of work to be done. Canadians should be protesting big-time. The Government and Industry have duped, and continue to dupe the public with Bill C-51.

People following the U.N. CODEX meetings will recognize that Canada is in the process of implementing what is very controversial at the CODEX meetings. Labelling requirement for genetically-engineered plants AND animals.

I think this bill c-51 and ( c-52 to come) is not about which party is in power.I live in Toronto which I consider almost a commuinist state.I do love my country of Canada but I dispise special interests running my life thinking they know whats best for me and my family and as a result we are moving out of this city.I am a conservative but I don't like everything all conservatives in power do.I want everyone to realize that we need to focus our energies on helping all people of every political slant.In my house hold we take our health very seriously so it befuddles me when big pharma and gov't and whatever other bureacray would want to control us when we make our odds of getting sick much smaller because we work hard at staying well.

There is a liberal MP in my back yard literally and I have been speaking with him.(I don't like Liberal socialist agendas but I like him) He's a great guy and when I first spoke with him only 2 months ago he knew nothing about bill c-51, so I am sending him to Mercola trying to help as much I can to get him to get educated to join this fight.

I will contact him again this week and someone above said that letters are better than emails and that's true but if you contact by phone and then the MPP knows who you are and will communicate with you.This is what worked for me and I am in ongoing communication with him.

Let's not bash each other because then we are working like that govn't and you see how well that works in the US and Canada.

Just for an interesting exercise, I went to hightowerlowdown.org and entered my suggestions to the Obama campaign for Cabinet members. I entered Dr. Joseph Mercola as FDA Commissioner. Think he'd take it if asked? Man, oh man, wouldn't that shake up a few corporations? (not to mention the AMA) I want Bill Moyers as FCC Chair, too. It was fun to fill in the blanks. Try it.

to give us your thoughts, it would be nice if you checked your spelling. Sorry - good English helps the readers as much as what you have to say about any subject. I, personally abhor the vocabularies of younger Canadians and Americans. While you are obviously an educated person, you don't sound like it, in print!

I will be doing my best to get rid of Bill C-51. The writers are compelely correct about the government piggybacking Bill C-51 with Bill C-52.

Every body listen. You can voice your objection and the best way is by mail and no postage is necessary in Canada. Send it to Prime Minister Harper , Parliament Hill Ottawa Canda. Suggest that Tony Clemment is stabbing him in the back and he will be a one term prime minister if Bill C 51 is not abolished. Letters count I know this from close ties with a former Member of Parliament many years ago. E mail do not carry the same weight but are still important. Be firm in your opinion and do not be afraid to state your mind but do not threaten any harm no matter what your opinion.

Let's all realize that we are dealing with a bunch of sociopaths and psychopaths. People like Tony Clement and Harper would love to have the power of life and death over us, not to mention imprisoning us for any reason they bloody well please. My god, look at this government's track record! Troops in Afghanistan, supporting the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians, supporting the Bush regime with the torture and imprisonment of children, a million dead in Iraq, twenty thousand in Afghanistan

What kind of person with a conscience would even consider such things, never mind actually doing them. Answer, a person with no conscience, ie, a psychopath or sociopath. Heck, Bills C-51 and C-52 are just a walk in the park for these thugs.
