I have even found it is helpful to let go of good feelings as it helps being present in the moment not hanging out on some warm/fuzzy feeling that happened in the past. What is really important is what is happening now...right now. We are always in a new moment until the day we die and letting go of the past is the most incredible gift we can give ourselves.

It really is True Freedom, to not be jerked around by our feelings. Positive thinking never worked for me because it is something I always had to be thinking about and it was way too much work and actually took me away from the moment and just being present.

What Jeannie taught me was How to let go of all of the unnecessary garbage from the past that I was carrying around on my back. You know, if you have a pile of garbage and you keep covering it up with good stuff like positive thinking, motivational seminars, hypnosis etc, etc ad-nauseum, it still smells like garbage and never goes away.

When you let go and really understand that you don't have to hold on to negative or unwanted feelings. That it is a choice to hold on or let go, you really have the secret to true emotional freedom. You really do have a choice to be upset, mad or hurt or not. I think we have all found that we eventually heal from most any emotional pain and the question is, do you want to have control of how long that pain has control of you. It can hurt you for months , years or a lifetime. Or you can let it go in a moment, the choice is yours.

Thanks - I'm not in the least hung up about the levels, I couldn't care less! I didn't know they existed, and wanted to know what they meant. I'm still not sure. Is it the number of times you have posted messages, or something to do with the points? I don't see the point (no pun intended!) of them anyway, they add nothing to the discussion.

And if hypnosis worked for your son, that's great. However, although you may disagree with vin dicator's post, you're asking him/her to "leave religion out" of the discussion. For some of us, our relationship to Jesus is part of who we are. Heck it makes us who we are. It's not just a separate compartment of our life. He - Jesus doesn't just "fit in" with everything else. At least not for some. Maybe not for you, and that's your choice. Your last sentence was rather insulting for those who live their beliefs every single day. True, if you don't share those beliefs, then what Vin Dicator said may not apply to you. Fine. But I think Vin DiCator was probably just trying to warn others of possible dangers associated with hypnotism. It can be dangerous to open up your mind to spirits floating around out there.

I quit smoking by decision and prayer. Others quit with the help of a partner or a friend, others don't even start smoking - good for them. We should remember that God helps through different means, and hypnosis could be one of them.

While I have read and 'seen' in movies and heard accounts of so-called hypnotism - most of what I have seen is NOT hynoptism. However, real hypnotism, where you take leave of your conscious mind and control thereof, thus allowing this spirit of hypnotism - AND OTHER SPIRITS OF HELL - to possess your soul/mind, IS DEMONIC.

HYPNOTISM is a demon that can be cast out of the soul in Jesus' Holy Name.

Do not mess with the spirits of Hell!

The self talk of the mind can sway any emotion which in turn influences exactly what you attract into your life whether right away or in time. The quantum physics theory basically or simplified in The Secret: The Law of Attraction. I used the power of the mind to heal from back troubles, lose weight, find life enjoyable, become loving, compassionate and supportive of others and their journeys and become pregnant by manifesting with my mind. A whole new look on and the miracle of life are proof positive for me that you create your world as you go. Once you overcome the fear of shifting your feelings toward the positive side of any thought process, it's amazing what you can accomplish. It's like you can feel an energy in your body change immediately as you re-word your self talk! Pausing to give gratitude for what you already have is a great start to more positive inner dialague. Then manifest away!

We can either be well or ill. I choose to not focus on the negatives in my life, but on the positives and show gratitude. This has caused a shift in my health. My chronic pain (29 years worth) has slowly faded away. My weight has dropped back into the normal range from obese. My stress level has gone from extreme to manageable. Overall, I am much happier. If a person chooses to focus on their aches, pains, illness, and negative aspects in their lives, they will bring more of that into their lives. So, of course, BeeGirl can cause herself to have a fever. We all have that ability. If you have not done so yet, watch or read The Secret. This all relates to the Law of Attraction.

If controlling one's cravings was just a matter of decision, no one would be obese in this country. My point is: If we're going to receive advise, I would hope it is not about the obvious. What about #68: "Think of your body differently." If you tell that to someone suffering from "body dysmorphia" they would tell you, "Are you kidding me? That's the problem I'm dealing with right now! I don't know HOW to think of my body differently!" Or what about #44: "Start each day with optimism." You give that advise to a depressed person and you'll destroy him/her, because that's the very thing they want to achieve but they cannot, nor know how to, do! Anyway...hope you get the point. I would much more prefer to read a piece of advice like, "Face your weaknesses and seek help to overcome them" or "Ask yourself: Are my present choices going to help me reach my goals? If not, why do I keep choosing them?" "And am I clear about my goals?" Just keeping it real...
