i'm now post mastectomy since nov 2007, age 47 ,postmenopausal.Now on astra zenecas Arimidex.Apart from the drug companies information of trial results is there anymore information about rates of reoccurance of cancer ,long term side effects ,and the usefulness of the 5 years recommended dosing .I am in turmoil as I really don't want to take drugs but am 'scared' to discontinue for the just in case factor....

I'm not sure if this will appear in the correct place. It's in response to CMichaelo's complaint that his entries were deleted my hubpage.

The page is there to share my own experience with stage 4 cancer. Cmichaelo doesn't agree with my openly shared experience and assessment which he shared with me on my moderated hub. I underrstand that he's skeptical, and he's entitled to his opinion. That doesn't mean that he has the right to publish on my hubpage because my hub page is not a debate hubpage but a support hubpage.

Most recently, a person shared that in six days his/her liver tumors felt like they were getting smaller.

It's a support hub, not an hub for arguing. There are plenty of places on the internet for that.

Hey people! There's an oncologist in Rome, Italy who has been curing cancer (even advanced cases) at a 90% rate for 20 years. His name is Dr. Simoncini and his website is www.cancerfungus.com. That's right ... cancer is Candida. The cure is B A K I N G S O D A (food grade or pharmaceutical grade, not cheap stuff). Check him out and spread the word. Some cancers you can treat yourself, some require an mere injection (breast cancer, for example), while deep tumors require skilled medical help to determine which artery feeds the cancer and intravenously get the B A K I N G S O D A to the tumor.

Please let people know about this. The do-it-yourself treatments are good for cancers you can access by drinking, douching, or giving yourself an enema of baking soda. How to info is on the website, I believe. Entire treatment cost is under $20. Meanwhile, the AVERAGE cost for conventional cancer treatment is $350,000. Then you suffer and die and leave your family under the burden of a humongous debt. A lot of doctors and drug companies will have a much humbler bottom line as this info gets to the people who need it. Please help!

Reading this article has made me literally sick to my stomach. My father-in-law is employed with Genentech and did biostatistics/research on this very drug. All the while, he was paid *extremely* well...somewhere in the $125-$150/hr range. That's right, folks, it's not a misprint. He's just one of the "little people" as far as Genentech is concerned--the big guys are making a killing (literally) and laughing all the way to the bank. Absolutely unforgiveable. I don't know how he-or anyone involved with this type of deceit-can sleep at night.

Loving to read, especially on health topics, I am just finishing the well written, but very sad look at the pharmacuetical industry called, "Your Daily Meds," by Melody Petersen. It was published in 2008 and so is very up to date. According to Ms. Petersen, the era of the blockbuster drug, who's sales had to be over a billion dollars a year to qualify, has now turned into the era of the mega blockbuster whose sales reach up to 8 billion in order to qualifiy. In 2006 we spent 2.1 trillion on medical care. The biggest industry in my home town is one of the two local hospitals, operated by the Mayo Clinic. There is never a time when they don't have a building project going on. The other hospital is constantly building something as well.

Actually,in this country all you need is big bucks to get the FDA to approve it.We have drugs being sold here in the United states that have been banned in other countries.Back in the middle ages,almost all of the herbalists were murdered as witches by the Catholic church,thats when it all started.The church didn't want anybody but them getting credit for healing people,they wanted to control everyone,if you didn't agree,you died. The government took their cues from the church.And look how well it has worked for them.

The best way to beat the FDA and the $100,000 price tag is to do what I did to cure my own Stage 4 cancer in two weeks nealy 10 years ago. It cost me about $10 at the time. Today, it might cost $20.

What a business. First you approve all kinds of cancer causing chemicals for human consumption and then approve high priced drugs that may not even work anyway. It almost seems it was planned that way doesn't it? ;-)

How do we fight that? It's pretty hard going up against the FDA or the AMA etc

What I do is turn as many people as I can onto wholesome, organic products including personal care products etc

Long ago, western medicine turned from healing and became a profits first business from top to bottom, and they have used the FDA as an enforcer in a protection racket that squeezes out competition. Preventing or healing anything is simply not profitable when your only marketplace is our bodies. A much better profit model is to have highly expensive drugs which only manage symptoms and have side effects that lead to conditions that require still more drugs so that by the time an average male reaches the age of 65 in this country, they take a combination of 15 prescribed and over the counter drugs daily.

The above suggestions, such as the Vitamin D and krill oil, are all excellent ones, Certainly a healthy and nutritious diet and lifestyle which builds and maintains a strong immune system is the key to keep cancer at bay. It is also the ultimate key to beating it for those who do acquire cancer - after all, the immune system is the natural first line of defense against disease and illness. In today's toxic world, sometimes diet and lifestyle alone are not enough, though.

Thankfully there are some supplements and natural/alternative treatments which, when combined with a good diet and healthy lifestyle and advice such as you see above, will beat just about any cancer. Of course you are not likely to ever see any information about them from the mainstream. Of if you do, it will be negative information designed to turn potential mainstream customers away from the alternatives. Mostly likey you will see them suppressed by the mainstream's main profit protectors, the FDA and FTC.
