My son was one of the children involved with the study in the UK into food colourants and sodium benzonate. Before that I'd thought that he had a pretty good diet, but seeing the change in him during the study made me realise that it wasn't good enough and since then I've worked very hard to give him the very best diet I can.

I am STAGGERED that the same advise to parents in the US is not given as the advise that we received in the UK.

Michelle, your story moved me to tears, I'm so happy for you that you found a way out.

I did an experiment with my youngest once. He would do his math (Saxon math) first thing every morning while his mind was fresh. I noticed that he often made silly errors (he was very good in math). I set up a test. Each morning I played a different composer while he did his math - Beethoven, Haydn, Phil Keaggy(instrumental), Mozart, etc. I did this for an entire semester.

At the end of the semester I checked the results. Whenever Mozart was featured he had no errors whatsoever out of the daily 30 problems. The next best was the Phil Keaggy instrumentals. What does this say about our "sound" environment? How are we being affected every day by the noises around us. We ought to at least try to produce a pleasant "soundscape" in our homes for ourselves and our children.

Our Mom and 3 of us kids have hypoglocemia which we found after reaching adulthood. Dessert was a Sunday occasion.

Three of us kids are now in our 80's and two on no prescription drugs, one now in Senior Care I talk to on phone and can tell he is now. They say for dementia, but personal observation of my mom and some freinds in senior care; some antibiotics and drugs they give can make this speed up the problem, causing them to do things out of their character; people need to beware of this. When it happened to mom I could not find out the name of the medicine, only doctors orders. I told the nurse to have the doctor call me. I told the doctor that my mom was not like that when she went into the hospital & she better not be like that when she left. Her mind had no more problems and clear until the end of her life.

Change only comes when enough people speak up and give their reasons why, lawmakers will listen. In Oklahoma the hospital staff can now tell you what you are taking and you have the option to take the medicines or not. If you are not acquainted with the book "Worst Pill Best Pill" that doctors are to refer to but many times too busy; get a copy - it tells the side affects and which to avoid, they are now starting a newletter.

I have learned the sprays used on yards contaminate garden foods so cause stomach problem, heart problems, cancer and brain disfunction slowing the body down. It seems worse since the cell phone towers have gone up. The sprays are giving me my biggest health challenges now. Red splotches on hands and feet even through heavy gloves and shoes lasted all year if I worked outside. It seeps into our homes. Gave me flu like symptoms where the cough would not respond or go away for 5 weeks. News said 2 boys 8 years old died & a baby from flu like symptoms that year. Please protect your family by not spraying & help make a change. Eatantioxidant foods fight free radical damage Hilda

The cost of groceries has skyrocketed, so I've had to become quite frugal with our budget out of necessity, unfortunately. Breyers ice cream goes on sale often for $1.99 to $2.50 for 1/2 gallon (its normally $5.99 here). So I stock up when its one sale (we have a big chest freezer -- it probably costs more to run the darned thing, lol!) A half gallon of milk is $4.69, and never goes on sale, not to mention adding in a bit of sugar, the vanilla, and any other goodies you want to add it. We usually make ice cream when we're camping though, the kids love it, and it is very yummy!

This can be reduced bysupplementation with vitamin D3, but among foods, dairy products have the highest association with cancer risk — probably because of the carcinogenic viruses found in the cow’s milk." I do not drink cows milk for health reasons even though I know Dr. Mercola is a big promoter of it when raw. Does anyone know if this raw cows milk also contains these viruses?

We've obviously lost our survival instinct, now our instinct has turned to desire, sexually and taste wise. Which is why we desire sex so much, and why we desire things that are so tasty. STOP.

Cut out: Gluten (breads, pasta, some rice, cereals) - Casein (all cows milks products, replace with GOATS milk) - Soya - Corn - Monosodium Glutamate - Aspartame - Acesulfame K - Sacharrin - Sucralose - High Fructose Corn Syrup - Sugar (this is tough) - Fluoride (tap water) - Artificial Flavouring/Colourings/Preservatives - Sodium Benzoate - Potassium Sorbate - Trans Fats (not animal or good fats).

Unfortunately the list goes on, they're the main culprit for the nations decline in health. Food is medicine, find out which foods have the most healing benefits, blueberries, avocados, lean organic meats (raw if you can stomach it, it's not that bad trust me, and you get 100% of the goodness), brown rice, oatmeal, brocolli, sprouts, parsley etc etc.

Willpower is key, if you WANT to live healthily with a powerful lean body, you will eat what you know is right (let's be fair, you know whats healthy secretely). However most people like comfort, here comes the DESIRE part again, if it TASTES good, and FEELS good, and SMELLS good, thats all that matters. Yeah well, don't come running to me when you've got cancer, 3 kids and a beautiful wife you're going to leave behind early. Better hope you got a good will for them!
