Dr. Mercola, I thank you for your important information and wish I had only had that information a year ago before we started the Gardasil shots.My daughter Chris died from "undetermined causes" fewer than 20 days after receiving her third Gardasil shot. This was just on June 23 of 2008. Chris had no previous medical condition, no concurrent shots or medication. Chris was a healthy college girl. Like at least 11 other cases documented on VAERS, her death was sudden following within 2 to 3 weeks of a Gardasil shot and she was previously healthy. In all of these cases, medical examiners could find no cause of death. Medical examiners also do not have a test for Gardasil so cannot rule it out. Healthy girls don't just die for no reason. The FDA/CDC need to stop pushing Gardasil and start doing research. These parallel cases can't just be coincidental. We need to have families of the deceased communicate and share autopsy information to find leads to our agonizing questions.You would think the FDA or Merck would assume this responsibility to protect the public,but they have not even responded to requests to speak with me. yea, for this site my 17 and 15 yr. old daughters DR. sure didn't inform me of any of this our back DR. who is a GOD send . gave us the heads up with this article . Our minds are made up . NOWAY ditto on the comment about giving them a dose of thier own medicine. thank you VERY much kimberly. in mo.

These are some staggering statistics. I never believed in the vaccine, and knew that the studies that Merck conducted were not adequate, but I am wonder where I can find the announcements of theses deaths resulting from the HPV vaccine. I would like to share this information with my students, but want to have sources to back up the numbers... Can anyone help?

I am amazed by Kellymars backing of the ACLU. You claim that they are protecting our rights and you are so far off base that it is ridiculus. Christians in this world are in an outright battle with the aclu because they are trying to take away all of our rights. The right to pray, for goodness sake right now they are trying to take prayer away from naval students. In my opinion and I'm sure other christian opinions what the aclu is doing is evil and straight from the devil. If they truly want to protect everyone's rights as you claim then christians have a right to pray and display biblical references(ten commandments) without hassle that we may be offending someone. Well frankly I'm offended by the aclu. The only religion they attack our christians. you never hear of them speaking out against buddhists or muslims. God forbid someone say something against those religions. When everyone has the freedom to worship and pray and the aclu is behind that, then you can say that they our protecting everyone's rights.

Gardasil is NOT a cancer vaccination. It does not and can not and was never meant to immunize you against cervical cancer. It is an immunization against certain strains of HPV which are known to cause cervical cancer in some women. Gardasil will NOT protect you from cervical cancer from ANY other source. It will not immunize you against all strains of HPV and therefore can not be relied upon as your only protection against HPV or cervical cancer.

Last year I attended a talk on Cervical Cancer in Malaysia and the 2 doctors promoted HPV vaccines like it's the answer to cervical cancer. No risks were highlighted, and many attendees in their 40s were keen to get vaccinated and also plan for their daughters. Cost USD500.

This year I attended another health talk by a more ethical doctor and was told regarding the low prevention rates and the absurdity of this vaccine.

Yes, just like you hunt for the right employee or employer, we must evaluate the medical advisors and request for qualification and certification. It is sad that many ppl still regard their doctors' words as the 10 commandments.

My daughter was a healthy, actitive, athletic and out going 14 year old girl. She recieved her first Gardasil shot in August 2007, she complained that it really hurt and made her arm sore. She received her 2nd shot in October 2007 by this time she was having bad back pain, muscles always hurting alway wanting us to message her back. We never thought it had anything to do with the shot. She continued to play all of her sports complaining all of the time and going to Physical Therapy the therapist could not get her muscle tone back to normal and could not get the muscle spasms to stop. She then started losing feeling in her arms first the left then the right. Her arms would turn purple and feel like a piece of cold meat from the refrigerater. Back still killing her and we saw lots of different Dr.'s. She had blood work in June and it came back with a high ANA of 600+, still not thinking nothing about the Gardasil shot. She received her last shot 1 week before we had to put her in the Hospital because she could not walk. She has a fracture on L4 but she has been out of sports since March. In the hospital they checked her ANA and it was 1200+. Went to a rhumatoligist and they ran several test (around 40) still could not find out why ANA jumped up, was it the shot? Is my little girl suffering from the Gardasil shot? She will start back to school as a Freshmen this year not playing sports, wearing a back brace, still losing feeling in both arms and very few answers.

It is so sad because no matter what I do or say, some people are just plain ignorant and foolish on this topic. I have 2 friends that had babies that I prompted to educate themselves on vaccines before subjecting their kids to them. I gave them books, I told them the facts and said to just think about what they were putting into their little bodies.

They both vaccinated according to schedule. There are so many people that are stuck in a nothing mentality. A doctor says to do it-oh boy! A doctor??? Well, don't bother doing your own research then-"my pediatrician told me to do it". It breaks my heart that these mothers had their daughters vaccinated and now they have lost them. What a waste of a life, plain and simple-gone down the drain so someone could make a living. I just wish I could get all of these people in a room and lock them up until they listened to the facts about vaccines. We all grew up being told we HAD to get shots PERIOD. Some know that they don't have to, but they are afraid to stand up and be called a non-conformist.

I'm 47 and was diagnosed with one of the high-risk HPV strains several years ago. I had several ASCUS Paps (lowest level of abnormal result) and 2 colposcopies (biopsy of the cervix). The first colpo came back normal; the second was inconclusive. My intuition was telling me that something was wrong, so I told my gyn I wanted a LEEP procedure done (removing the part of the cervix where the HPV usually causes problems). Nothing indicated I needed a LEEP procedure.

I was shocked and horrified when the results came back CIN III -- high grade dysplasia -- one step below cervical cancer. NOTHING had indicated this was going on; no highly abnormal Pap, not even the colposcopy. My LEEP was 1.5 years ago, and I've since had Paps and high-risk HPV tests done every 6 months, plus a D&C and a visit to a gyn oncologist since my case was so unusual. If you have an abnormal Pap, at ANY age, ask your gyn to test you for HPV. If it comes back that you have high risk HPV (the types that cause cervical cancer), you need to be very vigilant. Yes, HPV often clears up on its own, but in my case it didn't. I never get sick -- have never had the flu in my life, so I thought my immune system was in great shape. It did not protect me from this virus. If you're over 35, you're at higher risk of a high-risk HPV infection not clearing up on its own and remaining in your body for years, which is why older women are at higher risk of dying from cervical cancer than younger women.

My Pap tests since my LEEP have been normal, and most importantly -- my last HPV test several months ago came back negative, a sign that the LEEP procedure removed enough HPV viral cells so that the virus isn't detectable right now in my body. I will absolutely have an HPV test at every Pap for the rest of my life. An active HPV infection is required to develop cervical cancer, so the HPV test is a MUCH more reliable indicator of a problem than the Pap. Pap tests are not very accurate at all.

Are any of us really surprised? It was only a matter of time before the side effects were reported. I feel for the poor teens suffering but not for the parents for being naive enough to do that to their poor kid. Why doesn't anyone have common sense or logic these days? Yeah, a vaccine that protects against ONE kind of cancer..LOL. What about all the other cancers out there? You just want to protect against that one?

Only an idiot would make themselves a guinea pig for new drugs and new vaccines thinking the side effects are minimal and won't be anymore than a "rash" at the injection site. You're putting a man made chemical into your body...that's in no way "natural" or "healthy". You might as well drink bleach with the mentality that the bleach will disinfect and kill cancer just like it kills germs.

I agree with the observation that there is no more common sense among the masses. I am only a high school graduate, but I have worked in both the private and the public(government) fields. There have been a very few exceptions, but on the most part, the higher the education, the more foolish the person is. They lack common sense or critical thinking all together. I am a grandmother of 6. I home educated all 3 of my own children. They have more common sense then most of the higher educated idiots they work for. Its no wonder this country has been sold down the river. The masses are too stupid and greedy to see, or care what they have done to themselves and their neighbor. When my daughter was a teenager the doctor wanted to give her a hepititis vaccine. I told her no, that I did not believe it was beneficial for her health. The doctor proceded to lecture me on the dangers of teen sex, and how I was opening myself to a possible lawsuit from my daughter, down the road, if she were to come down with hepititis. I could not believe the arrogence of this doctor. I then proceded to ask the doctor, if the vaccine is so good and safe, then why do I need to sign her life away in order to receive the vaccine. She got all miffed , turned around and left the room. My kids got none of those horrid vaccines. They grew up just fine.

Sounds like Australia has the right idea. Here it is completely your choice whether or not you vaccinate yourself or your children. I personally have had the Gardisil treatment and my Dr first wanted to test for pregnancy and I was given a declaration to sign which listed all of the potential ailments that can come from the drug, I still went ahead and did it as I have witnessed 2 friends go through cervical cancer and 2 family members go through bone cancer and it isn't pretty.

I also agree with the comment from 'veggienut' that you are all so against the Dr's and pharma companies for pushing vaccinations onto you, but you are willing to believe Dr. Mercola's opinions without a moments hesitation. WAKE UP PEOPLE, You all have a mind of your own!

I am a new Mom with an 8 month old baby....I have choosen not to vaccinate for now. I may vaccinate against one or two things, but definately not until she is at least two. The Japanese have followed this path for vaccinations and have cut their incidences of Autism in half by this postponement of vaccinations.

With the internet nowadays and the help of my naturopathic doctor, it is so easy to find the information the government and its affiliates don't want you to have. It's unreal just how out of line our medical community is. There is a time and a place for medicine and surgeries......to help heal, not destroy. When was the last time you ever heard of a person dying from taking oil of oregeno or drinkning chamolmile tea or consuming flax oil.

Doctors need to get real.
