Thanks for the heads up.

That's all we need now... another stupid drug, laden with unknown side effects, that proposes a healthy lifestyle alternative and obviously a healthier financial existence for the corrupt pharmaceutical companies involved. Our bodies were meant to be active and I'll stick to exercising mine to be healthy!

This type of nonsense will never end as long as there are people willing to buy into their blatant lies. Let's not forget the pharmaceutical company's cute TV commercials which end with a heart warming scene where everyone that was sick now lives "happily ever after" because they take their pill everyday, even once-a-day, ("ask your doctor if "such-and-such" is right for you-- LOL). What a joke! Of course their new treatment will be "right for you" and anyone who asks their "pharmaceutics" doctor.

I can remember how I was misdiagnosed many years ago and put on everything from Beta blockers, Testosterone, Eltroxin, told to try anti-depressants, (which I refused to do, having heard about potential side effects ), right up to Nexium because I was extremely fatigued from metal toxicity. When my cholesterol was high I asked if I could see a registered nutritionist. My doctor said; OK, I’ll set you up an appointment with one. That was 4 years ago and I apparently am still on a waiting list to see one!

Indeed, this is our "Canadian medical system" for health in Canada. Pills and other drugs are readily available but professional advice for proper nutrition is definitely not part of the program and apparently never was.

Take charge of your life… Stay healthy everyone! :)

The whole thing seems like a silly concept, especially if you collapse at the end!

I'm sure that just as much as there will be side effects and dangers, there will be people that it's actually suitable for and will potentially help. The problem lies where people RELY on something like this as the only means for that particular benefit. Just as any drug on the market that's prescribed by a doctor or bought over the counter, it should be used as nothing more than a crutch during your healing process. It's one thing to have diabetes or high cholesterol, but it's another to use the medications given for the rest of your life. HEAL YOURSELF while you're on these medications and maybe you'll just have to use them for 6 months or a year. It's also a matter of habit, like with vegetables. My kids weren't born liking broccoli, but after giving it to them so many times, their bodies craved it, and now they eat it regularly and even request it for dinner. Maybe normally sedentary people will be able to use this pill as a crutch or a habit-builder to get into an exercise routine. It might be possible to use this as a motivator... just the push needed to get off the couch and onto a hike. I also heard that it's being looked into as an alternative to heart surgery because the effect it will have on your arteries will be similar to that of exercise. It's never even been tested on humans, so let's not be too quick to make assumptions. It might just be the pill to save somebody's life... or at least change it.

Steroids illegal, but it's okay for big corporations like Big Pharma to sell it? (along with their opiates derivatives and whatnot)

It's sad how really there's a pill for everything. When you hear about something like this, you wonder if another aspect of life are starting to become obsolete and meaningless. Why (exercise) if you can take a pill? Real exercise is getting up and moving around, not popping a pill.

The researchers say that an exercise-pill might become helpful for people who aren't able to move or disabled people. But I fear the worst of it. If this "exercise pill" gets out, this will encourage people to become completely sedentary while taking another pill at the same time. Instead of playing, recess, sports, and physical education (which are horribly lacking in US schools), they might just feed pills to the kids and say they're getting "exercise".

re: Could There Someday Be an Exercise Pill?

Big Pharma will do anything to make money.
