hey What about blue tooth - is that regarded as being safer - ie see alot of people using it now with the bluetooth earpiece on one ear which has a mic etc and link to mobile is chordless but at a different frequency

This is a truly scary issue esp considering many many schools and universities use wireless as a way to allow extra computers to be used anywhere in the premises. My son goes to a good local school but they use wireless as there is no way all the children could have access to IT skills if they didnt!! This is a very complex problem but one that i am deeply worried about. If i did manage to convince the governors that wireless was damaging the childrens brains then how could I offer up a viable solution to allow the childrent the same access. making positive changes are not easy. Does anyone have any experiance in this particular issue or could point me in the right direction???

The research has been out there for some time, but it's usually not made very mainstream. Check out

http://protectionfromemfs.com/, there's some great information there and there's a current EMF Blog that posts some relevant information about WiFi, WiMax, cellular use, etc. It's metaphysically oriented. You can also go to Microwave News, which has been reporting on these issues since at least the early 1990s, when I became a field tester (NEFTA) back in 'the day.'

I have farmed here for 30 years, each year we have had many nesting swallows, hummingbirds, bitterns, indigo buntings and various thrushes.

Early this spring, 3 new cell phone antennas were installed on an existing pole about 300 yards from my barn.

This spring we have only starlings, robins and crows. The swallows arrived as usual but instead of nesting, behave in an agitated, frantic manner and left.

On several occasions the cell phone service was down all day - numerous swallows suddenly appeared and began feeding, bathing and acting quit normal, in the morning they were gone.

Something to think about,

If certain "heavy metals" are able to readily absorb microwave, x-ray, and infrared radiation, then one should be able to ascertain that through the absorption of heavy metals, we become even more absorptive to EM radiation. This makes all the sense to me! We have high levels of heavy metals in our artificial surroundings and in our products. Our bodies can easily absorb some substances through the skin by mere, prolonged contact.

It would be great if someone had done the research into what materials resonate at what frequencies. Resonance is where the maximum transfer of energy is accomplished because of the greatest efficiency, ie: less wasted energy through nonresonant mismatch. Example: H2 ( Hydrogen gas ) resonating at about the 21 cm microwave band - source of that interesting "space noise" picked up by radiotelescopes tuned near that band. I hypothesize that our heavy metal contamination may be aiding in our absorbing MORE EM radiation and, therefore, more EM radiation-related injuries! This is worth a further study.

As for the commercial powerlines; did any of you know that many of our buildings are now using non-metallic conduit? I thought the I E E E codes required metallic conduits be used in buildings and structures, but this doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I saw several brand new hotels ( Marriott-owned ) being built with non-metallic electrical conduit and gas lines!!! This on top of the fact that the buildings were built from wooden "particle board" with only a few main columns being made of steel! These buildings are an absolute disaster waiting to happen. With the nonmetallic conduits comes the possibility of "wireless internet" to each and every room using the powerlines themselves as antennae!

Then, you have the power utilities using wireless "Broadband Over Powerline ( BPL )" technologies which are a bane to amateur radio operators and shortwave enthusiasts alike because of the extraneous RFI!

the next big thing we should be doing is to rebirth to the old stone age to avoid all these EMF, EMR, RF etc.. but right now we can not escape the advance of science. I still remember how strong my grandma at the age of 80 way back in the 70s when she meet an accident which broke her hips, which eventually confined her in bed. she died at 85. how many of us do we think will reach this age?? that is science to answer, but science also is at fault on what we are suffering now. I am 63 yrs old and in good health, my belief is exercise, proper diet, sex and piece of mind leads us to good health... remember what we eat.. is what we got (sick) thanks everyone for your contributions to science...i am still using my cell phone and laptop, for it helps much with my business...GOD BLESS..

KirkM is right. My mother was a mechanical engineer working on ordnance for the Army. She came home from work wearing a radiation badge. She warned me about EMF. Prevention in the 1950's consisted of refusing X rays and not sitting close to the TV. She died of cancer at 91 after the power company moved high tension lines from a right of way in the woods to telephone poles on the road over her protests. They did it to save money on maintenance. Wonder how much it would cost them to put the lines back off the road if a cancer cluster could be shown.

I have posted this before, but I think its due for another try as an opinion. If people get brain tumors from cell phone usage, how come nobody ever says anything about cancer in what holds the cell to your head - your hands. Can anyone comment on this?

I was born in a place called Libby, Mt. There was something mined there called vermiculite(asbestos), FOR 40 YEARS, government and corporate agencies were fully aware that it could and would be harmful to the health of employees and locals, and they never let on. IT WAS A BIG MONEY MAKER. Now, about 90% of my family members over 30 have been diagnosed with terrible results. The majority of the population of my hometown is afflicted with related disease. WE WERE TOLD THAT WAS SAFE TOO, and they knew FORTY YEARS PRIOR that it was NOT SAFE!.......Yeah, sure, we can all sue in the end, but most of us will not live long enough to ever see any finance, and most insurances will not cover treatment for this disease, because the manufacturer is the one to be held accountable. In our case the company caught wind of trouble, filed bankruptcy illegaly, and bailed. What do you think The big cell phone companies will do to correct this problem if there is found to be a direct link? IF YOU THINK THAT THIS CELL PHONE DISASTER WILL BE ANY DIFFERENT, YOU ARE VERY FOOLISH. Use knowledge as your guide, and your gut feelings also. If you think something may be ultimately unhealthy, avoid it like the plague, because it very well may be the next plague. No individual can close down the companies. But every individual that boycotts a bad idea or product and shares the knowledge of WHY with others is capable of causing that little ripple. Building up EMR in our bodies is harmful but I sense that it can be pulled out of us. I do so nightly with a grounding pad on the end of my bed. "Sleeping Earthed" is a relatively new technology but I think it will help minimize some of the damage we are doing with all our electronic gadgetry! It makes sense that the earth grounds us electrically so the extra charges we may have building up need to transfer into the ground. Check into earthing pads, I wish Mercola would look into them as well.

craig_br it is true that we're bombarded with huge EMF from outerspace, These UHF and SHF had beed there along with the birth of our solar system. I believe (this is only my belief) that life started with the aids of this EMF. After life is formed, this huge EMF continues to become part of our environmental element like the water and the air. The body recognizes this EMF, and may also utilizes it (again this is only my idea), but when it comes to man made EMF the body not only does not recognize it but also refuses it, and this is where the health problem start.Why? There must be some thing different between cosmic EMF and man made EMF. I give you illustration: man made heart and kidney (dialysis machine) are not the same as the natural real ones, man made vitamin is different from the natural one, man made fertilizer is different from the natural one, man made fiber is different to natural compost, and the list can go on and on. My point is there must be something different between those two EMFs.

To curlilox: you mention some kind of gadget to neutralize man made EMF, does it also block the natural cosmic EMF, which I believe is part of our natural ecosystem.

As someone who, like Sarah Dacre, suffers from SEVERE electrosensitivities, an emerging environmental illness, I can attest that this radiation is lethal. I also suffer from chronic Lyme, which I believe is due to immune system disruption because I was infected in 1989, but it took several years for me to show symptoms of the disease. What's more, my former husband developed a bran tumor - and yes, it was on the side of his head against which he'd hold his cell phone - the right. In fact, my Lyme Disease started with left-sided symptoms, and I would hold my cordless phone against the left side of my head. Cordless phones are no better! In fact, if I pointed a blow dryer to the left side of my head, I would develop Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face.

I worry about those of you who claim you use a cell phone, but that you are protected by a special patch or headset. What you don't realize is that by carrying that cell phone with you, or even having it in your home, you are still being irradiated, because the cell phone industry is erecting more and more towers to cover all of you once-in-a-while cell phone users, too - not just heavy cell phone users - and these cell phone towers emit radiation 24/7, 365 days a year without let-up. You are only fooling yourselves if you think that you are safe and protected. And what about me? - you are irradiating me against my will every time you use your cell phone. I am unable to work, shop, visit friends - all because you wish to stay connected.

I get tired of hearing how cell phones save lives, too - all these 911 calls. I go shopping, and I literally have to dodge cell phone bullets the entire time, and what's more, NONE of these calls seem urgent.

I think we are about to witness one of the greatest tragedies of mankind - the honeybees, the bats - they are all dying. I don't really care what pathogen they find - I can guarantee that cell phones are to blame somehow.
