I think the main thing we have to remember is that we build our tolerance to the sun in small increments. I've known people to abuse the sun and go unprotected for years and years and literally bake in the sun for hours and they now have skin cancer. This info was great because it stressed the best times and well as moderation. It shouldn't be a whole afternoon thing like you see people doing on the beach. Great info!

In my early years in Canada, my children and my selfI had some health problems (allergy and arthritis), and those MDs and specialists could do nothing. Then I picked free magazine called VITALITY which showed so many alternative approach to our health problems, and they worked. As a dentist, I used to embrace conventional medicine, but now I learned that actually they have wrong knowledge and cause many people suffer even more and make healthy people sick. I consider my self as lucky to know alternative health care, yes ALTERNATIVE not complimentary health care, I found alternative and allopathic do not compliment each other. One great example: their false knowledge about the effect of sun exposure to our health.

DAY. LONG. for thousands of years; and whoa! no cancer.

yet, in JUST the U.S., after a hot second of <100 years, suddenly, the Sun is bad, causes cancer and one must "protect" them selves from it.

The obvious statement is that the U.S. is exceptionally confused, and indoctrinated to believe in the wrong things ("the medical industry helps you live better" or "the government works for you the citizen" or "all that is natural is bad")

The planet and life there-in was created to experience a symbiotic relationship, the "waste" product of one benefits another. Look at trees, their food is CO2, they exhaust O2, it feeds off the dirt/dung at its roots, provides fruit for humans to consume.

The comparisons are endless.

When this relationship is hindered, or broken, things die.... see how long a human would survive in a bubble without the plants cleaning the air,...

I'm sorry, Gary, it sounds bogus to me. I'm trying to keep an open mind but the health benefits of vitamin D are awesome and profound even if some of the benchmarks can't be agreed upon. I am going to continue to sunbathe and supplement with vitamin D3 as well as some that work well with it. I suggest everyone read an excellent article on vitamin D safety by going to:

www.westonaprice.org/.../vitamin-d-safety.html

This is important stuff. Please read it and understand it before getting too deep into a self-directed vitamin D regimen.

I had my skin "scraped" and had 1 radiation treatment. I refused chemo and any follow ups. My skin doctor died of---skin cancer 17 years after my initial diagnosis. I have never had any flare up and I have never had it checked again. I avoid the sun at the brightest part of the day, but I do make sure I am out for about 20 minutes every sunny day in the later afternoon . I use all plant based skin creams, a richer one on the area that was affected and I drink lots of filtered water. I burn very very easily, and it was a nightmare for me when I lived in AZ. Now I am back on the east coast and I am still careful about the "spot" but not psycho. Moderation in all things, I think, is the key to a healthy, full life.

I don't get a whole lot of sun here in Michigan. When I lived in Norway years ago I got a lot of "liver spots" on my thighs that were NEVER exposed to the sun.

There are many articles, to the contrary, but the evidence is mounting that sunscreens are killers. Please see www.skinbiology.com/toxicsunscreens.html, for more on this garbage the Industry calls sun protection. I wonder how these people sleep at night. Read America. Happy Living.
