and safe way to remove old wax and fungus (candida) buildup. You'd be amazed at how much

crud comes out of your ears after candling, which is inexpensive and has been used for many

years. I recommended ear candles to a client of mine who said his doctor recommended a

hearing aid (he was 60ish). I said to use the candles first and then get another opinion.

He told me that he had about 60 years worth of crap in his ears and that after candling

several times, had cleared so much his hearing came back. When my son was a little boy,

he was prone to ear infections (from dairy) and every infection was cleared up w/ear candles.

They take relatively little time (about 15 mins. per ear) and instructions are easy. I highly

recommend them!

Anyone have suggestions on causes. My theories cover TMJ issues, aging and blood vessel health (I am 58), stress and caffeine consumption. I am still guessing as the ringing waxes and wanes.

The alcohol evaporates the water out. I also clean my ears with q-tips (despite the warnings) once a week, everytime i wash my hair-right afterward. The warm water loosens up the wax and it comes out easily. I dont dig in deep-just kind of scoop out the wax close to the outside. Trick is dont overdo it, by doing it all the time. I have never had an issue with these treatements. Ever.

I completely renovated the RV from any mold sealed, up the leak and now after showering remove any water from my ears with a Q-tip. The doctor agrees with obtaining a certain amount of wax to keep the ear canal maintained and dirt free, but advises if the ear has to be kept dry and clean that using cheap Q-tips are not advisable. He suggests using only high quality Q-tips because the lesser quality ones leave fibers in the canal and mix with the wax that builds up and blocks the canal and ear drum which can lead to bacterial infections. An old I.E.N.&T myth used to tell us to; "Never put anything larger than your elbow in your ear!" Obviously one can't reach ones ear by way of your elbow, so what they where hinting is don't put anything in your ear. A few days later I developed ear pain & obstruction. Since the ayurvedic practitioner was not available, I consulted with another, who put hydrogen peroxide in my ears to "bubble up and out" the residual oils trapped in my ears. The pain increased & so did the obstruction. I then consulted with an ENT (ear, nose & throat surgeon) with 45 years experience as both ENT surgeon & ayurvedic physician, who told me there are two main things you must never put into your ear: oil, and hydrogen peroxide. Oil, because it is likely to get trapped inside where bacteria will grow in it as a medium, and hydrogen peroxide because it is water with oxygen bubbles, and when the bubbles pop they trap the water up inside where bacteria will grow in it as a medium. This doctor has had to respond to many people who ended up in the ER for putting such things in their ear. He then put alcohol in my ears to dry out the oil and water trapped within, and lo and behold all of the pain and obstruction resolved permanently.

(Which my doctor used to tell me everytime he took my money as he was cleaning my ears.) I finally found a solution, for me at least. I purchased a Water Pick shower head, the inexpensive 19.99, six or seven different flow head. Then I had to remove the water saver in the head. This is easy, and there are directions both in the box, and on the website (which also will tell you what stores carry each model). Some people may clean the ear canal with the water saver still in place, but I had to take it out to get this method to work for me. When I shower, I use the strongest pulse setting for a few minutes in each ear. I have been doing this for about six years. I went from having to have my ears professionally cleaned about three times a year to never needing to have them cleaned. I pass this on because it might help somebody else both save money, and eliminate a petty annoyance in thier life. In the six years I have been doing this, I have not had any adverse effects form using the sower head to irrigate my ear canals, and keep the wax from building up. The water pressure is enough to clean the canal, but not enough to damage anything in the ear. Hopefully, this will help some other people besides myself.

Sugars, carbs and acidic foods feed that overgrowth. There are products and foods that kill and discourage the growth of Candida. Ask me...

Also: a comment about the dairy/soy comparison:

I keep hearing the soy question brought up in various posts. Below is the answer: It is in how it's processed. Organically grown, Non-GMO, water washing instead of alcohol, removal of the anti-thyroid substance, added calcium to neutralize the acidity. As a post-menopausal woman, and a lightweight, I am glad to know there are 60 studies that show soy protein builds bone mass better than calcium alone. Studies can be thrown around, misquoted, skewed and pieces used selectively. That is not good science. Personally, I'm glad there are companies like Shaklee whose 50 years of purity standards, science and integrity have helped people maintain or obtain healthy lives. I got tired of seeing sick people on medications, with bad information and bad vitamins. I'll be glad to send anyone more info/research on soy (or any health concern)- from people who look at all the studies, spend 250 million in research and have 50+ years of people using their products with optimal health. Pamela leangreencafe@yahoo.com

"Was the "anti-thyroid", "anti-growth" substance in the raw soy removed? ...... Orientals, who have consumed large amounts of soy for years, have known that RAW soy contains an "anti-growth", "anti-tyrosine" substance. Tyrosine deficiency will cause low blood pressure, low body temperature, and restless leg syndrome. Therefore, Orientals always lightly cook their soy foods to deactivate the "anti-tyrosine/anti-growth" substance. Shaklee has designed an extracting process that removes this substance, yet keeps the soy in a raw form in order to maintain the HIGHEST LEVEL OF AMINO ACIDS and ISOFLAVONES which are very sensitive to heat."

However, when I can feel wax building up, I take my mother's old hairpin and GENTLY AND CAREFULLY move it around (I can feel all the contours) and remove the excess wax very neatly. If I get an itch I press through the skin from outside with my finger. No Q-tips, ever.

My husband, on the other hand, never tries to remove wax manually and has to go to the doctor when he starts "going deaf," to have a solution put in. Of course I would never use anything in HIS ears since I can't feel his contours and I certainly don't want to poke out his ear drum.
