Hello Brazil123. I'm looking at your comment about enzymes causing pain and bleeding and wondering if you have been tested for H Pylori. Those little beasties bore into the lining of the stomach, etc. and can cause gastric cancer, etc. I've read where 75% of those with acid reflux/indigestion have H Pylori. Cats especially that cover up their *** with those same paws that run all over a house, including kitchen counters, etc. can transmit this bacterium/parasite.

Though Nystatin can work on some yeast overgrowth problems, the Candida often sensitizes to it, and the possible liver damage from it, or any statin makes me leery about the cost. The forms with sugar in them feed the Candida, and talc powder is implicated in ovarian cancer.

What enzymes did you use, and did you take them on an empty stomach, with a meal, etc.? Candex, Papaya enzymes, or EZGest by Shaklee have never bothered me. We are all faced with different challenges. For Candida, I also use garlic capsules, which are antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial. Coconut, oregano, pao de arco and other foods and herbs are also antifungal, but the most important thing perhaps is not to feed it with more sugars in the diet.

Just a bit more about dealing with RA and most other auto-immune diseases: (I ran out of space in the previous post.) Besides identifying the organisms that are almost certainly damaging the GI tract mucous membranes, it is often important to check the body for toxic loads. For example, in my own case, I tried a zillion different ways to get rid of the parasites in my GI tract. Nothing worked. Various approaches would start to work, and I would notice results, then get worse again. I finally got myself tested for toxics and found that I had a very high mercury level. (I used hair analysis testing by Trace Elements, Inc.) So then I had a bunch of aging alamgam dental fillings removed, (using holistic techniques, as outlined by Dr. Frank Jerome, of course!), and then was able to get rid of the parasites and get well again. This was after years of being so ill that I could barely get out of bed, and had nearly lost the will to live.

Several people posted questions about the relationship between allergies and RA. Rather than reply to each, I will share here what I have learned over the years: In most cases that I have seen, auto-immune diseases are the result of the immune system being essentially over-stimulated so that it goes on a "rampage" and attacks a person's normal tissues. Results can be RA, Lupus and Cron's, etc. In many cases it seems that food allergies are involved. They can be subtle enough so that is may not be obvious that allergies are even involved. Here's a primary way that this works: A person has harmful organisms in their GI tract. These could be an overgrowth of yeast, various harmful bacteria, single-celled parasites, etc. They damage the lining of the intestinal tract, causing the pores to enlarge. The result is that food particles that have not been sufficiently broken down to component parts get prematurely absorbed into the blood stream, and the immune system interprets them as dangerous and goes after them. If this happens enough, the immune system seems to get confused and start attacking normal tissues. From this description you can see why the syndrome of "shifting food allergies" is usually involved with leaky gut. So the priority is to heal the mucous membranes of the GI tract. Identifying the organisms that are damaging the membrane is important. Once identified, there are various protocols available to get rid of the offending organisms. It is best to work with an experienced health care provider, who specializes in this field, as it can be challenging. A diet of non-provocative foods, very frequently rotated while the membrane healing is going on is important. Drastically cut refined sugars and simple carbs during this process.

I am very careful about what tests I will use to identify the organisms that are usually involved. If you can find an Applied Kinesiologist who knows the right test, great! I am out of space! Hope this helps!

I have had my now 19 year old son's allergies tested and mostly resolved through NAET. He is on a wheat free and diary free diet also. He was also on antibiotic therapy for a time. Anyway he has gone from not being able to open a water bottle to, doing everything! I am thankful to God for showing me what to do.... it has not been easy, but so, so worth it! We had rheumatologist that wanted to give him Methotrexate at 16 year old--- the Dr. said, I should just "trust" him! That was our last visit to that Dr.!!! Don't give up hope!

Hmm, I've been on Nasonex for the past few weeks, and noticed a lot of thrush on my toung, On further inspection, after reading this article. I noticed the roof of my mouth has also turned white! I wonder if this could be the start of a fungal infection? Anyone know if this is a normal side affect of Nasonex?

The mother of a close friend of mine heard from her doctor that in 5 years she would be in a wheelchair from her arthritis-two kinds. Drugs to suppress the symptoms of RA? What a stupid approach! Why not go after the cause and eliminate it? I have helped a number of people with various auto-immune diseases. And I have had some experience dealing with them in my own health. In almost all cases where the immune system seems to get "fooled" into attacking parts of one's own body there seems to be a reason why that happens. Mostly I have found it to be subtle allergies. For example, one has leaky gut syndrome, and so gets rapidly shifting food allergies. Not knowing how to manage that or better yet eliminate the leaky gut syndrome, the person ends up eating foods that they are subtly allergic too on a nearly constant basis. Next thing you know they show up with RA. What I think is happening is that repeated exposures to anything one is allergic to over-stimulates the immune system, putting it into a hyper state, and one becomes a sitting duck for any number of auto-immune diseases. In this example, fix the leaky gut, adjust the diet to avoid foods that provoke the immune system until the gut is healthy again, and the RA disappears. This approach seems to work most of the time. Works well for lupus, Cron's, and many other auto-immune diseaes, as well. Of course, good nutritional supplements are great, also, but I think the priroity should be to find what is over-stimulating the immune system and fix that problem.

There are alternatives to drugs for treatment of arthritis. For instance eliminating meat from the diet may be of help and there are natural foods that have anti-inflammatory properties such as tumeric, ginger and olive leaf.
