Jen47: I have taken thyroid medication for at least 16 years. I originally was prescribed Synthroid, but I got horribly ill on it. I switched to Armour Thyroid, which is a natural substance from an animal, and have had no problems with it.

Also, I get one prescription which lasts for one year - 12 monthly refills (or 11 plus the original first filled prescription) from one prescription.

See if you can do the same.

My recent experience I had a year ago. I started feeling light headed, my heart palpitations started up, and sometimes I had an incident of tachycardia over 3 days. I finally thought, I better see my doctor.

I was on a diuretic to "control" my BP. My dr sent me for the usual tests, blood work, non-stress test, chest exray, ekg.....conclusion? He was stumped, nothing found! I surmised on my own that minerals were leaching from my body dut to water pills. I stopped them, and started taking vitamins, cut out coffee (only had 1 cup a day...sometimes). Sure enough, I got better. All that wasted testing, bills and copays for nothing. He was clueless, he had no answer for me. Thanks to this website, I am learning about the safe vitamins, healthier living etc. It is a blessing. It makes me sick to see the ads pushing the flu shot, makes me crazy! Especially for 6 month old babies.

please share your experience of using vitamin C to fight basal cell carcinoma: my dermatologist freezes some spots of it once a year for 15 years already. Raw food is a big part of my diet, and I take 500 mg vit C daily, with high gamma vitamin E. At my age of 68 I did not take any prescription drugs for years, so I am lucky till now.

I take a bio identical armour thyroid. The fillers in the one by Forest Labs bothered me and i ended up with terrible neck pain. No problems on the bio-identical armour thryoid.

I cannot imagine anyone trying EVERYTHING that alternate cancer treatments have to offer. How about cottage cheese and flax seed oil? Or Laetrile? The clinic in Dallas? The clinic in Tijuana? Hydrogen Peroxide intravenously? Protocel? Hoxsey Therapy? Essiac Tea? The Gerson Method? Dr. Kelley's Enzyme Therapy? Burzynski's Antineoplastons? The Rife Machine? 714x? Cesium High pH Therapy? Raw food diet? Every one of these has "cured" someone with terminal cancer. Each of them have a better "cure" rate than burn and poison. On the other hand even though many of the above treatments saved someone on whom convention medicine had given up, there are others who refused alternate treatments until they no longer had enough energy to make it through any treatment and thus were beyond saving, even though if they had started earlier looking into alternative methods they might have survived. I personally use both. I have now had 3 kinds of cancer. The first, basal cell carcinomas I treated with vitamin C. The second, bladder cancer I treated with surgery and organic diet and alternative treatments like mushroom powder. The third, and scariest is Coroidal Melanoma which was cooked with a laser, leaving me partially blind in the right eye. I went on Protocel when I got diagnosed with that and got a lot more serious with my diet. So far, several years for the carcinomas, over a year for the bladder cancer and almost a year for the Melanoma, I have not had a recurrence of those particular cancers nor any other kind that has been detected. Holding my breath and enjoying a better state of health than before the cancers.

my step daughter (19) has been in the hospital for 3-1/2 weeks with ulcerative colitis...she has gotten progressively sicker and had to have a colostomy; which then resulted in a bowel obstruction and emergency surgery to correct that...as a holistic health counselor i've been so completely frustrated and flabergasted at the reactionary ways in which our so-called modern medical model is run...i only wish i had known amy sooner to have been able to assist her in a true healing experience before this all happened...

It's sad how terrible our "health" care system is. Drug companies like to keep you somewhere between sick and almost dead. It's extremely difficult to get rich off healthy people.

My wife works in the medical field, cardiac imaging specifically. She often looks through the charts of her patients and likes to see what medications some of the people are taking. She sees the same combination of drugs quite often as there are side effects from many of the heart medications that apparently are almost guaranteed. A new, complimentary drug is then added to treat these symptoms. What an amazing way to build your business, give someone a pill that will actually make them sicker, give another pill to correct this sickness and repeat!

It is sad how badly the pharaceutical/medical industry has so many people misled into believing their way is the only possible way that one can live healthy, even though true health is impossible to achieve while following any part of their medicated plans. And with their financial backing, how to stop their corrupt procedures is beyond me.

There is a natural thyroid extract, known in the States as Armour. Google Mary Shoman for holistic doctors and great info. about proper treatment of thyroid issues. I was on thyroxine for five years, still not feeling great, fertility problems etc. Found a top doc. here in Australia, who is helping me with a similar product to Armour. However, I had underactive thyroid, and I'm not sure whether a nodule would necessarily be looked after in the same way. Good luck!

I teach my patients that "food is the first medicine." If oranges can cure scurvy, then why couldn't peppers cure cancer? $20 and a few minutes of mouth discomfort seems like a much better "experiment" than $25,000 of chemo and radiation that destroy the immune system, and poison the entire body, and only "cures" cancer in 3% of cases, and even that 3% doesn't rule out "confounding factors."

I stumbled into alternative medicine by accident. I was chronically ill from birth until my mid-30's. I was highly skeptical, suspicious, and antagonistic toward anything "unconventional." I believed all alternative care practitioners were "snake oil salesmen." I learned differently. My "terminal" cancer was "put into remission" by TCM. My chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, IBS are all distant memories, along with the 34 pills a day I was swallowing to try to manage them, and the side-effects of one pill on another system in the body. So I became an alternative medicine doctor myself to "pay forward" the gift of health.

The Cartesian model of the body is outdated and ineffective and dangerous. The body is a system. It also wants to heal itself. It just requires data (and to not be used as a toxic waste dump). The form of the data isn't what's most important. What works? Food? Chiropractic? Acupuncture? Herbal Medicine? Bioenergetic Medicines? EFT? NAET? JMT? Homeopathy? Nutripuncture? Yes! Treat the body as a system, provide it with correct data. Don't pollute it chemically or emotionally, move it around some, pick a way (or ways) to communicate with it, and it will do wonders. It is also much easier to keep it healthy than to get it healthy, just like it is easier to change the oil in the car than it is to replace the engine.

Prothrombin is one of the easiest lab tests to do

One of the major "contra-indications" of supplements and nutritional therapies is that they "conflict" with the blood thinners because.......wait for it......they thin the blood! Naturally, like they are supposed to, as in the problem would never exist to begin with

So what about using Prothrombin testing to keep tract of natural therapies?

I have NEVER met an M.D. who could understand that concept

What in the world do they teach them in those medical schools?

Wow Garlic and peppers to cure? Why aren't the MD's prescribing this simple sandwich? I am not sure about the bread though,white bread is BAD and gluten is poison according to Dr. Mercola's NO GRAIN DIET book. There also is an Italian MD that cures cancer with sodium barcarbonate injected into cancerous tumors..Dr. Simoncini. Check him out.

This stuff sickens me. We REALLY need to take back or country from big pharma and others - who are in control of everything! Their lies are appalling and set a disgraceful example for us and our children. I was reading an article the other day by Robert Kiyosaki ( www.smallcappulse.com/.../as_capitalism_crumbles_us_taxpayers_pick_up_the_pieces ) and it reminded me of a the book I bought a couple years ago and haven't finished reading yet, "The Creature From Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin - which I have gotten off my shelf and plan to dive into again.

And of course, this ALL ties into Mercola's article the other day articles.mercola.com/.../big-pharma-ties-wants-to-shut-down-vaccine-conspiracy-theories.aspx

When will this insanity stop!? When will enough of us get together and stop buying, using, and falling into "their" consumer rat trap. Along with nutrition, emotional issues are a major factor in illness, they connect to our Meridian Systems

which I believe is the bottom-line of where illness begins, and stop it in it's tracks. Please take the time, to learn EFT as Dr. Mercola recommends.

I used EFT after no results from taking antibiotics for a leg injury for 6 weeks, and my lower leg was 3 times the size from an infection. Utilizing acupoint charts, I applied EFT to all acupoints below my wound which hadn't healed. In a week, the swelling was gone, along with inflammation, and in two weeks the wound was completely closed. I also, tapped for edema and other issues utilizing Dr. Michael Lincoln's

"Messages from the Body" a straight forward book of "uncanny" emotional issues connected to every part of our body, listed in dictionary form and most all diseases.

Dr. Mercola had a recent article and video on appling ice above ear to help in treatment of cardiac pains, I also used EFT for a series of chest pains, that occured at this time and I was hospitalized for.

My recommendation is for any hint of a problem is to Tap and have someone else call 911, and now also to add ice (didn't know that at the time!)

Both our Heart Meridian and Pericardium Meridian run down our arms, hence the connection to arm

pains which often happen with cardiac problems. Simply, a constriction (Pericardium Meridian is also referred to as Constrictor Meridian) is causing the pain and disruption. EFT often works for this reason, when nothing else has or will.

If you check meridian charts the placement of ice, over ear, is actual over an acupoint listed for "fear &

fright".

As I work further with blocked meridian acupoints, I have to wonder if it isn't originally the blocked points

that cause the tumors and cancer cells to grow, from misfiring energy.
