The 'monster' seeds produced by this company are even worse than the 'terminator' seeds. The farmers not only have to purchase new seeds each year but they also have to purchase the activation chemical for each specific 'monster' seed or the seed will not germinate. The 'monster' seeds also self destruct as they combine 'terminator' technology. All these extra farm costs are passed on to the consumer, the only ones benifitting are the greedy CEO'S etc and shareholders. The shareholders are too stupid to understand that they are paying more at the supermarket due to increased farming costs of purchasing new GMO seeds each year. The Cree Indians were spot on when they stated: 'We cannot eat money.'

Did you know nearly all seed is 'treated' before it goes into the ground? It has stuff on it to keep weavel out and who knows what else. On corn the seeds are coated with red/pink stuff. We eventually stopped cleaning our beans because we had so much land to farm it became too big a job. We still would take our clover seed in and pay to have it cleaned, but it became cheaper to buy treated bean seed. We no longer Farm, My Dad Retired then we tried, but it became impossiable to make a profit and live on it. His farm land is rented out to relatives and we moved to the Suburbs..

My Mother and Brothers still have the home place and grass/hay fed organic beef cows. When we eat steak we know what the steers name was, and what he ate. Plus we do our own processing so we know we are not getting just our weight back, but we are eating our beef. Our hay and pastures are never sprayed. It is too bad I no longer live close enough to buy a dairy cow. I could have raw milk if I did. Oh well I use Almond milk now anyway, I have never been a fan of fresh milk, the cows love wild garlic and usually your milk taste like garlic, I love garlic but garlic milk is really nasty. the only ways to keep them from eating garlic is either to go try and pull it out, (Good luck on 80 acres). or spray it, which puts us back to chemicals.

Mercola makes some great points, as he usually does. Sadly the current monetary system the world is on is not going to be able to make any singificant shift towards overcoming food shortages and hunger crisis, as it is against any profit based institution to create such abundance without compromising quality and health in order to reduce cost.

Indeed, as Mercola pointed out in the above, there are great alternatives to feed the world, but then we're still not leaving the vicious circle of the monetary system. The producers inevitably will have to consider cost, because what they need to produce is costing them lots of money, too.

In the end, it is not within the system that such change is possible, but outside the system, where nobody has to pay a dime for their food, their water, their energy and everything else we need to live a high standard of life. A high standard of life basically is impossible for everyone within our current monetary system.

There are already technologies available to relieve most people from their monotonous and submissive jobs (for whenever you walk into that office, that field, or that factory you are submitting yourself to that place and its owner(s)). The technology is already here to create clean and renewable energy forever, yes, forever.. or.. as long as planet Earth exists as a planet. Geothermal energy can cover the entire world's need for energy - as it is at the moment - for the coming 4,000 years. But, geothermal energy is renewable, for the Earth's core keeps on going and going, there is no end. This can already be done, but ofcourse there is competition for marketshare within the energy-monopolies nowadays, and all again is about money.

In a world where money is obsolete, there is no reason to prey on the masses by those few in power.. We need to get rid of the monetary economy and turn to a resource based economy.

On the off chance that we will not approach as close as is suggested by the boffins I would pray that these biological fiddlers accept the wisdom of not trying to improve on what has been achieved by careful husbandry of what we were given in the beginning.

Historically it seems that every time we try to improve on what God/the universe has provided, we make an even bigger mess. If there was an original and enduring sin, it is our arrogance that we can do better than God, that laws are only guidelines to be considered or ignored at our leisure.

The bible says that it was once neccessary to cleanse mankind's wickedness from the earth with water. By the year 2015 it may be that it is purged by gamma radiation. Perhaps the tremendous financial support provided for the Hadron Particle accelerator is in the hope that there may be found a way for some few to escape the coming disasters - a Noah's Ark in space, perhaps?

Corn as porridge as eaten in Africa is not a sustainable diet The Mexican eat a lot of corn, however, they alkalize it first before cooking it, so there is more nutrition in the corn. The Mexicans are using the age old way of eating corn which has been used for thousands of years. The "World food experts" have replaced the natural foods of Africa with new foods, corn, but did not teach the people who eat it to prepare it in a way which is life sustaining. Another thing not said in this video was how the 150 bushels per acre corn lacks the nutrition that the corn of 60 years ago. "Modern" corn does not have the mineral content nor the protein content of corn from 60 years ago. Part of this is the soil, but a big part of the problem is the much high yields. My Grandfather fed his chickens cracked corn and did not need to feed mineral supplements. I wish I could do the same, but can't if I want to maintain the health of my livestock. I am trying to build my soil here so that the feed is a complete food with out having to add expensive supplements. I have a friend who makes the joke, "There is more nutrition in the cardboard of a box of corn flakes than there is in the corn flakes in the box." There is currently a famine in America, the famine is not cause by the lack of calories, but by the lack of other nutrition in the empty calories which America eats. It sounds like Monsanto wants to export that to the rest of the world too.

Organic agriculture is only one small part of permaculture. Bill Mollison, the author of 'Permaculture 1' and 'Permaculture 2' hardly mentions organic growing. Other aspects are solar housing, energy efficiency, aquaculture, placement of trees in the system, and many other things.

It is above all about DESIGN - where buildings, plants, ponds and animals are placed for the greatest efficiency.

new to the sight and looking forward to learning many things. I am presently writing a book for teenagers about how the Bible relates to their everyday lives. I will be sure to study more about

Monsanto in order to use some of their material in my book as an example of greed, deception, and

lies. The leaders of Monsanto probably are not familiar with the Bible. If they were they would know

Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against FLESH AND BLOOD but against SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS." "jsab" previously mentioned "satan" in his or her comment. Satan is a spirit. He and

his spirits are invisible to the human eye similiar to radio waves. We can''t see them but they are there

trying to control our thoughts to think and behave in an evil manner. The Bible relates that Satan seeks

to kill and destroy. Therefore, the leaders of Monsanto are being influenced by Satan to seek and

destroy people. Jesus in John 8:44 refers to Satan as "the father of lies." Sounds like Monsanto to me.

I have been studying the Bible more than 30 years. I will only quote the Bible as it relates to something

I read on Dr. Mercola's website. If you have any questions about the Bible as it relates to this sight

please feel free to ask me any questions. If I don't know the answers I will seek to find them.

Dr. Charles Parker

It is utterly appalling that a person can jump back and forth between a job with a corporation and a position in the very agency that regulates that corporation. One flagrant example is Margaret Miller, who wrote up the report, required by the FDA, on the safety of Monsanto's bovine growth hormone. She then left Monsanto and was given a position in the FDA in which she approved the so-called safety report that she herself had compiled for Monsanto! This is one of many outrages that the federal government fosters by the policies it sets.

Monsanto is evil for all of the reasons that Dr. Mercola gives, but also, beyond the insatiable greed and the lust for power, their intentions are to kill us off. We are fodder in a global corporate war and when the fodder is expended, they will trample us underfoot. It doesn't have to be that way. Many are waking up. We are many and they are few and God is on the side of righteousness, but we have to take a stand! Think about what you can do in your community to open people's eyes.

re: World's Most Evil Company Debates Michael Pollan at Google

I am amazed that such actions continue to occur and governments haven't tried to stop it. This company must be stopped, but I would be amazed if the US gov would do anything about it.

As many have said, it would take pages to go over this companies "sins". Like the current economic problems, a lot of this stuff boils down to greed. The love of money and all that.

Solving world hunger must be with sustainable, nutritious growing methods and foods. The whole "teach a man to fish" paradigm. Areas will droughts, floods, etc must be taught methods that will maximize the environments that people are existing. I many cases, the methods have been altered by the "modern" world, and not always for the best.

I often feel we are going 1 step forward, 3 steps back. Unfortunately, the reasons for doing so are not the good of mankind, but the good of a man's pocketbook.

He wanted to put forth the "I am a caring person" persona. Maybe he is and just can't see the forest for the trees. However I find that unlikely. Monsanto obviously wants to control the world's food production, thus controlling the world's population. I know most of us on this blog have been over this ground until we're saddle-sore and we just keep repeating ourselves and "preaching to the choir". Anyway, 20+ minutes isn't even enough to get warmed up. But when I think of these terminator seeds that could possibly contaminate my organic and open-pollinated garden seeds, which I save religiously for the next season, I get damn well HOT under the collar. I'd like to tell Hugh Grant where to shove his "..all we want to do is to feed the poor people of the world" bullshit. As said before, corporations were created to make money...for 1 specific job like building a bridge, then disbanded. Until some smartass realized just how much money a corporation could make (especially since IT has no conscience)....then the laws changed to suit corporations and not "the little guy", which most of us are. I thought the video that followed it about the oceans by the lady who works for National Geographic was much more powerful.
