While it isn't a good thing when it comes to paying bills or having a tooth fixed, it most definitely a great thing when it comes to saving money.

Amazing how little you spend if you always put off going to the store. For any wanted purchase, I strive to make it wait, for at least a few days. If you wait, it is uncanny how many times you figure out you just don't need whatever it is you wanted.

But, for the rest of my life, I use a combination of the above tools to make sure the things that have to be done, get done.

For the rest, "it can wait" is lifesaving.

I found that cutting out TV altogether allowed me to add lots more rocks to the jar each day. I also am someone who gets addicted to games, so I deleted the games from my computer. I had gotten really good at minesweeper, too. Oh well! Maybe I'll reload it again if I ever plan to go out into the world and sweep some real mines, so I can get some prep. :o)

Pragmatism rules here, meaning that if it works, it's good. So you have to find what works for you.

That said, I have written many times of my gratitude to Dr. Mercola for being the first to inform me of David Allen's book Getting Things Done. Implementing that system was a life-changing transformation for me.

Lately, I have found a way to modify Allen's system so that my personal productivity has made another qualitative improvement. I am using the system from the book Do It Tomorrow by Mark Forster. The key is the idea that you don't change a list while you are working off that list. It's very simple. But some of the very best ideas are.
