In other words, neither of the varying, but intelligible views that I took time to write were allowed to be posted on this blog. This is a controlling and biased disgrace. One of things that I like about Dr. Mercola's website and newsletters is that he questions the so-called "experts" in the medical field. This questioning should not stop simply with the AMA, it should also be allowed to be directed toward the APA. I hope whoever is in charge of this blog will at least allow this small protest to be posted; especially since I am not sharing any specific arguments, which undoubtedly, would be denied a hearing once again.

When I made a comment earlier about the school requring us to medicate our child what I meant was that you are effectively 'forced' into medicating or your child is expelled. If your child is expelled (and the more often the child is expelled), other schools will not take them even where state funded unless you live in their zone. Ultimately you end up where your child is at the worst school possible (they will accept them so that they can get the funding to keep the school open) being educated with many other unfortunate or problem children. The risks inherent in this with raising an ADHD child are perhaps even greater than giving medication. Statistics show and doctors concur that it is self esteem and socialisation that are the really important factors in ensuring the ADHD child's effective transition into adulthood. Our main concern is that our child doesnt become one of the many ADHD children who go off the rails and fall prey to drugs and crime. (Yes, I know there are conflicting studies about whether using ritalin increases or decreases (as the manufacturers assert) the likelihood of drug taking)

Vis a vis fluoride in the water - it is widespread here and has been since the 50's, 60's? We have a local spring (now I understand why there are always queues! I had always dismissed the people as wierd hippies!) so changing our water supply is easy enough - now just to find some old glass flagon beer jars!

Are only certain views allowed to be expressed on the topic of Mental Health and its labels? Modern medicine, big Pharma, etc, is an incredibly new and unstable creation and they use us as their test rats. Many medications to this day are still herb and naturally based, but they are supplemented with chemical additions that prove to be harmful. Many times, you can remove the man-made additions and use what the Earth has given us to achieve the results we desire. Look at all the hype about what cinnamon can do for arthritis, what yogurt and fermented food can do for bowel issues, and what things as simple as lavender can do for hyperactivity. The Earth was created to be self-sufficient. Use it. Many generations and even civilizations made their way just fine before big Pharma. In fact, their elderly would run circles around ours! Yes, I have (had) IBS too! That is also behind me.

I am 25 and I am ADHD, but I do not struggle any longer because I was raised by a dad that was very disciplined and was smart enough to research natural sedatives to keep me under control. I was also taught to channel my sporadic thoughts and to blog about them. I learned to use those massive bursts of energy into beneficial areas, such as sports, school work, creativity, and accomplishing productive tasks in the form of a "let's see how quickly you can do ___" game. I was also put into boy scouts and learned to use nature as a major vent. All-in-all, I feel that my ADHD is a blessing because I have learned to channel it and to use to energy to my advantage. Luckily, I was raised by parents that believed in God, in the Earth, and in the power of MY own mind instead of trusting in professional students that work in a lab with expensive toys. Mind over matter. Always.

For those of you that feel "obligated" to treat yourselves or your kids using medication, I really feel for you. I disagree, and I am proof.

This substance is benign with almost no side-effect and should not be on prescription. It is prescribed for the elderly in cases of senility but has a much broader utility which is not generally known. One mild side effect is that it may cause one to become aware of dreaming while asleep which is a common feature with many drugs and some foods; this wears off with usage. It is certainly worth trying it by anyone afflicted. Another of its benefits is that it effectively alleviates the symptoms of apnoea at the low dosage of 2.25 mgs.

My training has been with both the Pfeiffer and DAN groups.

Similar biochemical imbalances are found in children with ADHD, and similar targeted nutritional approaches produces results.

The vast majority of ADHD patients are zinc deplete, most have malfunctioning of their methylation pathway, and many are high pyrrole excretors. Correction of these issues usually leads to a clinical improvement.

In my own series I saw 41 patients with a diagnosis of ADHD. 37 of these commenced treatment and 28 complied for 12 months. At a 12 month follow-up 16 of the 28 showed major improvement, 3 showed partial improvement and 9 showed nil improvement. All of the improvers no longer use Ritalin or Dexamphetamine.

It amazes me that these simple tests are not done, these nutritional deficiencies are not recognised and thus not treated.

Several magazines noted all were diagnosed ADHD and prescribed Adderall and Ritalin, and to offset the effects of those, they are also prescribed antidepressants as Prozac and Luvox (both are fluorinated because fluorides can cross the blood brain barrier. You are aware of the results, right?

Next, if your water is fluoridated, it contains an entire page of contaminants ranging from heavy metals as arsenic, lead and more down to "Radionuclides" as uranium and radium 226-228, and Alpha and Beta particles. The utilities dept. can provide you with the AWWA (American Water Works Association) Standard for Fluorosilicic Acid B703-06, latest issue.

Lead occurs because uranium decay series ends with 3 isotopes of lead.

Search online PubMed for: "Effects of fluoridation and disinfection agent combinations on lead leaching from leaded-brass parts", by Maas RP, Patch SC, Christian AM, Coplan MJ

The abstract notes the combination of fluorosilicic acid and chloramine resulted in lead leaching spike of over 900ppb. (remember that fluorine is the most reactive of all elements and can carry Lead-fluoride to the brain)

Next, The EPA was so concerned about the fluoride complexes/compounds, they nominated Aluminum-fluoride for neurotoxicity tests in the Federal Register, Vol.65, No. 233, Monday December 4, 2000, pages 75727-8. Noting Alzheimer's Disease, Lou Gehrig's Disease and others.

October 2004, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Research Service published:

"USDA National Fluoride Database of Selected Beverages and Foods" which showed analyses of prepared foods and beverages made with fluoridated water, levels.

So, when processed, the levels of fluorides will increase, it doesn't evaporate.

One more is: Journal of Dental Research, SPECIAL ISSUE, Vol. 69, Feb. 1990, Worldwide Symposium on Fluorides, Posters No. 7, page 827, notes the beverages coffee, tea and Coca-Cola caffeines combined with fluorides and resulted in a 2 fold increase in blood plasma.

SOUNDS LIKE PRESCRIPTION FOR HYPERACTIVITY, DOESN'T IT???

Good luck with junior high where classes switch every hour when elementary school was tough enough with one class and one teacher. Good luck if you make it to college and a good career. It would be great if the world understood ADHD but sadly, that is not the case therefore, better living through proper medication management at this time, including Ritalin. One must ask why so many people have ADHD not why so many people are on Ritalin.

Giving them good food and no vaccines will certainly help them on the way to getting better. Most kids and adults with Adrenal Fatige are gluten intolerant and are running on adrenaline and craving sugar and all the bad stuff. I feel that when you give a child with Adrenal Fatigue a vaccine, you are worsening their problems. Your adrenal glands are your immune system, so bascially you are giving an immune suppresed person a vaccine! That is completely against what doctors would do with a KNOWN immune suppresed person!

I do as much organic food as possible, RO water, and adrenal supplements (licorice, ashwaghanda, etc...) for the kids. With me, I'm doing hydrocortisone and T3 (thyroid). When you have Adrenal Fatigue, you almost always have a thyroid deficiency too. It's always good to check for both.

Here are some good websites about Adrenal Fatigue and Low Thyroid. Educate yourself and be your own best health advocate!

Children need sensitive understanding help to be able to resolve such painful emotional states. These can include extreme states of confusion, fear, rage, which all lead to anxiety. The hyperactivity and continuous self-stimulation in Children with ADHD, which leads to poor concentration and all the classic symptoms, is a defensive means for warding off these deep anxieties.

If such a child is given the opportunity to be helped to understand and face the anxieties in the containing therapeutic space, much improvement can be gained and, indeed, in my experience, freedom from ADHD can be achieved. Such work can be done by psychotherapists, who carefully follow a child's play to gradually develop an understanding of the underlying causes of their anxieties. Nowadays, EFT can be added to the tool kit a psychotherapist uses to make the work much more efficient and shorter. Of course, you don't have to be a psychotherapist to practice EFT.
