But many of you do it for a couple of days and then forget about it, because it’s just too hard. Wouldn’t you like to know a painless and easy way of getting into the exercise habit?
A good diet, rest at the proper time, clean water, sunshine, exercise, and most important of all a good spiritual posture. These are the elements that keep healthy.

So to those who find themselves in the same pickle as myself, keep trying, keep chasing that goal, and do not give up.

Experiment to find exercise you LOVE and you won't want to miss it! Just my 2 cents.

But be careful at first- unless you are a little fit at first you could inadvertantly overdo it!

I have found that Callanetics can help hugely to strengthen the back. My problem is two fold. A neurological deficit that results in fatigue out of all proportion to exertion, and a diminished lung capacity due to many years of smoking.

Next week I start taking lecithin in fruit juice twice daily to bump up my acetycholine levels (acetycholine and nicotine use the same receptors) and hopefully I will break the nicotine addiction a little easier than the last attempt.

Weight loss would be nice but is largely irrelevant to me.....but I would like to be healthier AND live long enough to see my grandchildren born.

Congratulations to all those already experiencing positive changes.

By the way, there is sufficient array of exercises in Heavyhands that one can do a workout in one's own living room. But on that note, I'll mention that there was a Heavyhands DVD put out by some aerobics teacher, but I found it pretty disappointing and it falls far short of a proper education in the Heavyhands concepts. Read the book.

Of course, one should "ease into" an exercise regimen - as the author of Heavyhands clearly advises - but one of the fabulous advantages of Heavyhands is that one can adjust the intensity of the workout in so many ways. And, the funny thing is, when one incorporates the upper torso and other musculature into an aerobic exercise, it actually FEELS a lot easier to achieve target heart rate than just trying to get there by legs alone. And of course, the toning benefits are more widely spread throughout the body this way.
