Avaoid eating lots of processed foods. Stick to eating foods with natual polysaccharides and avoid food with lots of monosaccharides or disaccharides.

We have to stop eating so much sugar in our diets, and it is each of our lazy faults because we don't take the time to prepare our own food and chose to each profit laden processed food products!!!

It is so much better tasting than stevia it's not funny, and with no aftertaste. Google it and you'll find it by the 3 and 5 pounds quite reasonably. Emerald Forest is one source. It also subs in baking quite well.

I love it!

I cut out sugar years ago.. I am learning to go gluten free because it makes my joints swell up and gives me those age aches and pains everyone gripes about, those age pains go away if I keep off Gluten. Hummm. They hide gluten in everything... Thank goodness I am a protien type. But processed meats have HFCS in them. Sure it is not much, one carb sometimes, but it is there, WHY?

Funny even with the small list of food I have left I still have weight issues. No sugar, No wheat, but still I fight my weight. Oh I am at a pretty nice spot now, but it is from constant fighting that I am not fat at the present. I must weigh all the time or just a little slip can pack on 5 lbs in just a couple of days, then it takes a week or more of fighting to get it back off, And I had weight loss surgery in 03. It is not suppose to be so hard after that. I lost 125 and gained 30 back over the years.. and this year I have taken 33 back off, but it was WORK.. My body wants to weigh over 200, and I want to weigh between 165 and 145.. I made it to 173 but now I am fighting again at 185 to get back to 175 in a couple of weeks. I am tall so I look pretty good at 165 even as a female. I dream of 145, but I have never seen that. I am following the metabolic type diet and If I eat enough fat I am not as hungrey. I have Weigh protien and sometimes it helps too.

Trader Joe's sells tomato products without HFCS and I use their BBQ sauce after trying other brands and finding them lacking in lively flavor. I have not tried their ketchup since I don't personally use it but it's worth a try. Whole Foods in a good source of products but I felt they didn't meet my standards for taste or price. Classico is my brand of pasta/spaghetti sauce. It comes in many flavors and is available at major grocery chains like Safeway. You can't go wrong reading labels and giving products a try no matter where you find them; just keep trying until you find something you like.

BTW in the supermarket the other day I had a look at a bottle of Karo light corn syrup. It was made with pre vanilla and guaranteed to be of the highest quality!

As for HFCS and tomatoes. DO NOT buy any tomato based product in cans. The interior of cans leaches some chemical (I forget which one) that is harmful, so get whatever in glass whenever you can.

Tomatoes or anything tomato based, try to get organic whenever possible. It takes so many tomatoes 20+ I think it is) to get one quart of sauce, ketchup, or whatever, that whatever pesticides are used to

grow one tomato is concentrated 20+ times in your one quart of sauce. When I look for spaghetti sauce in a jar at the grocery store and can't find an organic brand, and I'm in a hurry, I buy a jar of salsa and mix it with organic tomato paste to make a sauce.

As for a "soda-like" experience, I buy a fruit juice with no HFCS or any other added sweetener and add a little fizz with soda water or selza water.
