I was amazed when one of the aide's at my doctor's office commented that I am NOT on a lot of drugs...just three, Prevacid, and Allegra and an Epipen, the latter two just for emergency treatment of Anaphilaxis. I refused the Fosamax, as I convinced my doctor that the low bone density in my left hip relates to biomechanics. Besides, this stuff further destroys your stomach.

We seem to be on a drug craze these days. I gave up the nsaids, and I am sticking to the exercise regimen give to me by the Egoscue clinic. Eventually, I should be able to sit in movie theatre seats. It seems that conventional medicine has the wrong answers for so many medical problems.

Chantix apparently didn't test their drugs on the depressed. Now cigarettes are a nicotine and lithium delivery system and the majority of bipolar and depressed people smoke- at least far more than in the general population. So why are they surprised when the drug is released to the general populace that the people they didn't test start responding with psychotic reactions.

I have seen this up close. It isn't a pretty sight.

I have been taking Chantix for over a month now. I usually refuse all doctor drugs, but felt I really needed to do something about my smoking habit. I have been slowly sinking into a very deep depression. I don't even want to get dressed or go anywhere or see anybody. I also have had thoughts of suicide. I am usually a happy, social, energetic person. Now I know it is because of Chantix. Thank You Mercola. I am going to quit taking it immediately. Does anyone know how long it will be before I feel normal again?

Both my husband & I are soon to be seven years "smoke free!" Praise God. We did it with HIS help & cold turkey. We were 3packs for 45 years & 2 packs for 42 years smokers. I share all this to encourage any one who believes they cain`t quit,that it is a lie and if people say you have to be ready,well that`s not true either. I so did NOT think i was ready,but wanted my husband to quit and to support him. Anyways,i believe the "lies" are part of the addiction/denial process and slowly it has to be dismanteled. I was a verry miserable smoker the final last few years,and knew it was a bondage,as did my husband. So we agree with the stats..cold turkey really works & the most important help,well it comes from the Lord Jesus. Don`t let the fear of withdrawal stop you,broncitis,sinus infections & damage to your lungs & self esteem last a lot longer! Challange the lies,and fight for your life!! God Bless

Of course prescription drugs appear more dangerous than recreational ones, because the people who take them mostly are either sick or have a condition. Rec drug users are seeking excitement mostly, which is probably a life-affirming trait. Of course more people die in hospital than outside. That's because they are sick, although iatrogenic deaths are distressingly common

No shock here, but the difficult part is trying to make our loved ones understand what this all means. These things they call drugs are very useless. You have a pain, we have a pill. If the pain killer gives you an ulcer, we have a pill for that. If the ulcer pill turns your stomach, why we have a pill for that as well. If all these pills destroy your liver, or kidneys, why do not dispair, get a transplant, and a bunch of pills. How great is that?

All Under Heaven, the FDA doesn't have to be. There is little to no oversight over their practices, because they are supposed to be the last line. We need to write our congressmen and women and get lobbyists and private interests out of the FDA or shut it down all together. It's obviously not working.

There are two kinds of FDA drugs: those that kill immediately and those that take a little longer.

For instance, you'll probably never see antibiotics listed as a major killer, yet they lead to fungal overgrowth, obesity, diabetes, lifelong sinus suffering, 100 auto-immune diseases, and cancer.

And then there are the chemo drugs that are known to kill...doctors call 5-FU "five feet under." How is it that I could cure myself of stage 4 cancer in two weeks with 50 cent items from the grocery store, yet the 'head of their class,' obviously talented physicians and researchers still don't even know what cancer is?

I have been told......

that much of the anguish of nicotine withdrawal is because nicotine uses the same receptors in the brain as acetycholine.

In the basis of this information- if accurate - the best method to shorten the period of withdrawal would be to increase one's lecithin intake.

So when did the FDA figure out that it wasn't just one single ingredient in Heparin that was tainted? It was the whole freaking batch. Dr. Mercola posted an article which said:

CHENGDU, China, Aug. 9 — "A highly infectious swine virus is sweeping China’s pig population, driving up pork prices and creating fears of a global pandemic among domesticated pigs. "

The main ingredient of Heparin is pig intestines. I checked out Health Canada's website and it said to refer to the USFDA. So I sent them the news articles hoping they would make the connection.
