I know this article was posted a few weeks ago. But, I was just poking around on the web and came across a blog I found very disturbing. You guys may have already seen it.. www.sciencebasedmedicine.org

It made me sick just reading the garbage there. They attack us left and right. I made a post or two and hit a major artery :-)...it was funny. Guess these people are MD's and PhD's and think they are Gods! Oh Boy...they are out there. But, on a lighter note. A restaurant here in Phoenix "Jason's Deli" http://www.jasonsdeli.com/ is getting rid of all the HFCS in the food and drinks it serves. Yeah!!! And the people are ecstatic. The American public is becoming more educated and demanding better quality in nutrition because of people like Dr. Mercola and others. The future of our cause looks bright. Keep up the good work everybody…because all of us are the mouth pieces for change in medicine. Happy 2009 Everyone.

I'm happy to say that I'm part of the 13% decline in Lipitor sales. My cholesteral was at 320. I quit taking Lipitor in August '07, follow most of Dr. Mercola's recommendations, take my Krill, and, my cholesterol naturally went down 100 points. My liver thanks me.

I've been receiving acupunture for 7 years now and have been to the doctor once in 7 years. There are other medical systems around the world that are just as effective as ours. Americans have to start demanding preventative care and developing self awareness towards their bodies, minds, and spirits rather than using drugs as the miracle cure all. It saddens me that americans have given away their own power to know how to take care of themselves to the pharmaceuticals and the doctors they train in med school.

A few things we can do:

. Create wellness incentives in companies, for example, if you less than X dollars a year on healthcare, you get a bonus

. start teaching our children how to take care of themselves in the school system - yoga, meditation, exercise, diet, etc.

. put money into early learning for children rather than building more hospitals

. promote wellness care rather than illness care

. include alternative health options in medical benefit plans

. teach Americans that we have other options besides pill pushing and surgery to address illness

Just one major problem. Our socialist federal gov't. gave the FDA control over vitamins & supplements. It's estmated that the vitamin companies will be out of business in 3 to 5 years max. as the FDA

rules that prescriptions will be required for one supplement after another.

We just elected the most left wing socialist in Wash. as our president. Think things will improve?

I really believe that it is our right to chose doctors and make our own choices as a paying customer. It took me 5 years and 8 top notch doctors female and male to get a hysterectomy. I knew I needed it but they all had different diagnosis. In their eyes I was a person who needed something and they were going to milk me for everthing I had. I was only 36 and how could it possibly be that a 36 year old would need a hysterectomy? Not one of them did a MRI to see why I felt this way it was terrible always walking away knowing I had to find a caring doctor. Here are their suggestions to help me I needed psychiatric help, I needed family counsiing, I needed Prosac, I needed absolutely a hysterectomy and I knew it! I did not go to any of these hair brain appointments and I certainly did not take the Prosac. My hormones were creating a monster out of me I lost a marriage of 13 years, lost friends, and gained enemies. After 6 years I found a doctor who really wanted to get to the source of my problem and it was done. Men and women get smart, stop, look, and listen to your bodies. It's your body and we all do not eat, sleep, or walk in the same shoes. Doctors are only mechanics who fix problems after not before. Holistic is the way to go always take care of yourself first. Help others to do the same, words and education will break down what the drug companies want us to do which is to stay ill, live longer for their pocket books, and tell others by talking about what their drugs have done for them. Word of mouth is a two way street so if you want to help someone make is a proactive approach.

I did have a wonderful GP, who kept an open mind on alternative medicine. Unfortunately, he retired :(

As I receive a part disability benefit I also have subsidised perscriptions - and I find my supplements very expensive in comparison. I did shop for Krill oil locally - it came to around $1 per capsule. It was actually cheaper to by it through this site - even with the cost of shipping!

I cannot afford private health insurance now, but have noticed many Australian funds do have wellness programs, subsidising gym memberships and so on - and pay benefits for many non mainstream treatments.

Even so - it still is personally cheaper to treat an illness with perscribed medications rather than alternative medicine, and more expensive still to eat healthily!

I just have to say,I feel so bad for you folks that have had such horrible experiences,I'm blessed with a pretty open minded doctor that is doing his part to get me healthy.I've had to work all of my life to finally get to the point where my health is starting to improve,but I've never been forced to take medicine.I use a combination of Armour thyroid medicine,herbs,oils,butters,and sound healing,I also use home and personal electrical protection.I sure am glad of the freedoms here in our state.We sell our grass fed beef with no repercussions,and we buy eggs from our neighbors.For most folks,if they just eat healthy they don't need a lot of supplements,or energy drinks,and bars.Go for the real unprocessed foods.unfortunately the majority of people are lazy and misinformed,but usually when I try to inform people they don't listen or care. everyone I know can afford good food but they still buy garbage.They just don't care.So how do we change an attitude like that?Like others have said,alot of people would scream bloody murder if the pharmaceutical companies went under.Even the losing of our rights,alot of folks think its just great,because gee now we can feel safe.now we'll be taken care of,oh boy free checks and free health care.Very scarey

I did many tests before the speciallist could or would commit to a diagnosis. One of them was a lumbar puncture which revealed antibodies specific to MS. The neurologist was absolutely marvellous and very thorough.

Without a doubt I would also have allergies and such - MS is one of the auto-immune disorders.

I also had fairly high blood pressure which is possibly aggravated by variable mobility.

On the plus side, on most days I can still walk, and I have so far resisted any medications other than my BP medication and an anti anxiety medication- plus some OTC supplements and a vitamin B shot every second month.

I have volunteered for MS drug trials, and my reaction to the treatments firmed my resolve to limit my medications as far as possible. I am trying to be pro active in my own health and hope to further improve my status. Most MS patients my age are already wheelchair bound.

What really bothers me is the fact of our news media promoting the false rumors that our economy is down,and people that we want to trust such as Dr Mercola going along with the the false stories to promote his ideas.We need to make our lawmakers accountable.Any one putting their faith in politicians is in my humble opinion misguided to say the least.The economy isnt down,so, a few people lost their homes,lots of homes are now at the price they should have been in the first place,alot of people that can really afford a house to begin with.Not low income and immigrants,but people with a real,healthy incomes.My brother and my daughter just bought a house each.My son and I are starting a new business that is taking off.I have one friend just started her business and it is going good,another friend of mine has a dog grooming business that is just booming.It is a time of growth if you take advantage of it.These big loan companies should fail,the politicians that forced the banks to make loans to people that couldn;t afford homes should be held responsible.Crooked politicians that are putting our road money to other uses should be held accountable,as should the FDA<EPA,these people should be in jail.As far as unemployment goes,it always rises this time of year,my husband just got laid off for the winter just as he has for the last 40 years.If the carmakers want to sell cars,then make them worth buying.If people would quit spending a small fortune on their cars and toys,they could afford healthcare.I know there are people that really cant afford healthcare,but you know what,the majority of those people are also misspending their money,I see it all the time.I remember when the cost of food and gas was the big thing in the news,did any of you read the comments after the articles.most of the comments were about how can we afford our junk food,it was really sad.I remember one mom saying how her kids werent going without their cookies and chips.

Few of know the dangers BIG PHARMA, and conventional medicine pose to the health and well being to the world at large. They pay the Governments of poor developing Nations for the right to use their citizens as lab rats, destroying families, all in an effort to make more money.

We as parents, brothers, sisters, and yes friends are faced with a challenge when BIG PHARMA has the ability to reach so many via the media, to get the truth out. Ours is an up hill battle, as we watch family and friends waste away due to some illness that is easily cured, with the proper knowledge. Knowledge that even our so called Government tries to keep a lid on. But not just in this Nation but in other Nations as well. I recently read an article where a child in the UK, has parents who refuse to allow Doctor to perform a heart transplant on their child, and were hauled into court to try to force this procedure. Parents 1, conventional medicine 0.

The demise of BIG PHARMA would be blissful to say the least, while behind the scenes there are code words such as population control, and food shortages, and the like. We live in a dangerous time, when this world stands on the brink of self destruction, and it is all about greed, and money.

America, indeed the world needs to awaken to the dangers posed by BIG PHARMA, cure that sickness, and move on to the next. It is shameful that so few of us know what is emerging, yet are unable to pass the knowledge on to the world at large. WE HAD BETTER WAKE UP.

My father is on 13 prescription medications. I recently tried getting him off some of his heart medications that are causing dizziness and muscle weakness. His GP thought that I was probably right but consulted with the cardiologist. I believe the cardiologist was afraid to change the medication from the AMA accepted practice for fear of litigation if things went wrong. I believe that the AMA is a tool of the pharmaceutical giants that force doctors to overmedicate. The government should investigate the financial relationship between the AMA and the pharmaceutical industry.

Lately there is a concerted putsch afoot in the media to debunk the benefits of exercise and vitamins/supplements. Every week I see another vitamin being anointed as "worthless" in the "war" on....(you name the disease.)

What Big Business and Pharmaceutical Giants cannot control (because of the will of the people,) they absorb through biopiracy, and ultimately eliminate. A good example of that are PATENTS taken on natural products like basmati rice, turmeric and neem! I used to buy neem concentrate at Lowe's, and within two years I have seen it being replaced by toxic, petroleum based (Iwon't name names) big sellers. Our freedom of choice is constantly being diminished and we must steel ourselves against the tactics of Big Brother, - It is an ongoing battle of good vs. evil.
