I think the worst one on the list is the allergy to water. How AWFUL. I don't think I could live with that condition.

I saw the woman who never forgets on Oprah as well---it sounds like the same person, anyway---and she says that remembering so much has not made her happy. In fact, when her husband died, it prevented her from ever overcoming the grief of losing him---it's as though he died yesterday, every day. It's extremely hard to move on when the raw trauma of the day a loved one died just refuses to leave you. And can you imagine remembering every little insult or snub or injury that ever happened to you? That would be so painful--no wonder she has weight issues. I don't think she's a savant. Savants remember things like the number Pi or random things they ought not to remember b/c otherwise they're considered mentally impaired. This woman seemed quite normal---except for the fantastic memory. The fact that she can remember every detail of her 7th birthday, and yet forget items on a grocery list today, suggests that only one part of her memory---long-term emotional memory---is affected. Or at least that's what Dr. Oz said.

And the sensitivity to EMR would suck A LOT too. I agree: definitely a sign that we're all over-exposed to such radiation, just like we're all overloaded on gluten, sugar, sugar substitutes and caffeine. It's my hope that technology itself will solve the problem by retaining any EMR that it produces. Technology will, I hope, be more organic and life-assisting, rather than toxic and violent, in the future.

There a girl nicknamed Gal Sone in Japan who doesn't gain weight. She eats and eats and eats and always keeps her 101 pound body. Last year she was one of the most popular personalities on tv. She can eat enough curry and rice for 10 people, then go on to eat like 50 full plates of sushi, then have an icecream break, and go on to eat even more. After eating, she gets on the scale and she has gained a few kilograms, but then after going to the bathroom, she's back to 101 pounds (and does not purge).

Her body is different from the normal person, because only a small percentage of the food she eats gets turned into nutrients and absorbed by her body. The rest goes to her stomach. And in this girl's case, her stomach expands many times the norm and pushes other organs into really confined spaces to make room for enormous amounts of food. And she claims she's never feels full. I don't think she's ever lost an eating contest, but she does seem to have a hard time keeping a boyfriend.

I suffer from an extreme case of electrosensitivity. Standing near high-tension power lines causes mottling of my skin. I experience anxiety, profuse sweating, palpitations, air hunger, and jaw tension whenever I'm exposed to cell phone towers, wireless internet, things of that nature. I can't even use a landline phone now, let alone a cell phone or cordless phone.

All I have to say is we are playing with fire. I believe the proliferation of wireless technology is responsible for everything from Colony Collapse Disorder among the honeybees to White Nose Syndrome among the bats in the northeast. The Woman Who Can't Forget has broken her privacy. Besides appearing on Oprah, she has written a book called "The Woman Who Can't Forget: The Extraordinary Story of Living with the Most Remarkable Memory Known to Science: The Extraordinary Story of Living with the Most Remarkable Memory Known to Science." Her name is Jill Price and she sounds completely normal, except for the fact that she remembers everything. I wish I remembered even half of what has happened to me! I forget so much that sometimes I wonder if I'm even attending my life at all.

There is a treatment for some of these disorders that appear to be allergies to common things like water, foods, light, EMF, etc. It is called NAET or Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. Info is available on NAET.com. It is a recognized and widely used alternative treatment develped by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in California. I was very allergic to almost all foods. At the height of my allergies I was allergic to almost every food, except rice and rabbit, olive oil, and glycerin. I have taken almost 150 treatments and now I can eat most vegetables, eggs, and several other foods. If you have severe allergies, I would recommend researching this treament. It is very effective. I still have a ways to go before I can eat the "biggies" - wheat, corn, soy, dairy, commercially processed meats and processed foods, but I have come a long way.

The Woman Who is Allergic to Modern Technology. There is a significant number of these people, mostly non-Diagnosed, typically told by their M.D.s that they have some king of allergy or mental problem if they refuse to get well with the corticosteroids. Then it's on to Valium or whatever. Now they really have some problems. It seems most M.D.s just refuse to believe that these hypersensitivities are possible.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with Bullous Pemphigoid, a rare auto-immune disease that afflicts people of Mediterranean descent (my father is Italian). The doctor explained it thus: thinking of the skin as a brick wall, the disease destroys the mortar that holds the bricks together. She said I would die if I didn't take her drugs.

Since I've always been a "health-nut", I went looking for an alternate treatment and found one online. It was a mostly ayervedic herb combo offered by a scottish company. It was a 3 month treatment and cost about $250. I also set out to identify further"triggers" - I had done this previously when excema appeared a few years prior.

Studying Chinese(hot &cold), Ayervedic(chakras), and Dr. D'Adamo(blood-type) food recommendations has helped me to nearly eliminate it though it still stubbornly persists on my scalp. Whenever I eat something I shouldn't, like tomatoes, I'll get blisters in my mouth or on my torso but not to the extent as previously.

Ancient peoples of different races (there were many of them once upon many times here) had developed skills like the super memory or ability to withstand cold. Tapping back into racial memory or listening to the ancient folkstreams, one can recover from some of the problems that plague this age. I know what the Dutchman does regarding cold is something possible and am working to reacquire this ancient skills.

Sight over many lifetimes for his people will yield many good tough skills that current comforts cause everyone to turn away from and generations later forget. Good for him! Good for the lady who remembers! It is an abnormality that we forget. She's healthy and normal, it sounds like, in this area -- not diminished.

I wouldn't mind being able to eat anything I wanted without getting fat!!! As long as he has the proper nutrient intake I could see the many benefits to this disorder. I know there is a downside (looking like a skeleton!), but I'd like to be able to eat what I want when I want and know it wasn't all gathering like best friends on my hips, thighs and waist!

I practice a technique called BioSET that clears allergies and sensitivities and restores balance to the body. I have cleared many of the girl's on my daughter's swim team for sensitivitiy to the chlorine and chemicals in the water and successfully cleared another client who had the same degree of sensitivity to her water as the one mentioned above. I have found that the problem isn't so much the water itself, but the minerals, chemicals, acidity etc in the water. I have also had great success with wearing a magnet or QLink to block EMFs. The tic tac girl could probably benefit from probiotics, digestive enzymes and clearings for food allergies. Most could be helped with hypnosis and Reiki. It makes me wonder how many of them have tried alternative therapies or have just given up because the medical community has no answers for them.
