This guy is supposed to be knowledgable about the money system????!!!! NOT! At 1 minute, 36 seconds in he says the Federal Reserve is a government entity. That couldn't be further from the truth. The FRS is a private business entity. I kind of lost interest in listening to the rest of this after that comment.

It's funny how we're all suddenly economic experts and know exactly what will happen four years from now if Obama gets his way. Why didn't we see this current mess coming?

With republicans in the white house twelve out of the last twenty years, we should be living in a free market paradise today, but as you can see, we are not.

Now even baby Bush has to admit that his wall street buddies need corporate welfare to the tune of many billions, but we can't even get basic catastrophic health coverage for those struggling to get by.

It's a shame that corporate personhood trumps basic human dignity and well-being in this, the formerly richest nation on earth.

Mafia style corruption and hits, domestic spying, were the only thing Democrats and President Bush could agree on. Democrats of course prefer to infiltrate your family via health while republicans prefer to infiltrate your health via corporations. A trillion dollar deficit is not going to improve the legal tender. Just pray they don't tenderize your bartender or loved ones. If Obama would elect the personification of racial discrimination to be his Vice - Mr. AIDS- we cannot expect him to discipline Jo the Stalin lurking in the shadows where the left meets the right. If you can survive until the budget balances in 2010 things might get better but they should start printing out four year wall calendars for the US prison population to tick off the days until that bright point of light in our political system lets us down again.

I voted for Ron Paul, and I will do it again if the USA is still counting votes in four years. I did that because it appears that he is a good, intelligent, caring person. I didn't vote for Obama or McCain, because they kept saying the same things that Bush was trying to push into our throats. I'm terrified by the amount of money that they are "creating". Ignoring the overwhelming voices that said to not keep doing the same old destructive ways, they are stilling printing more money. WHY do they want to destroy America?

Another reason why I didn't vote for Obama was the "free" insurance. I WILL DIE if they MANDATE "free" drugs, no question. Please stop this insanity - even if you don't value the lives of others, it is financial suicide.

America has lost the ability to see past its own front door.. there are individual dramas playing out, but also global dramas playing out that need much more "long-term" attention. Our monetary system, as well as that used by other nations, needs a reality check--it requires slaves to produce wealth. This country (and therefore its wealth), was acquired with this method; first through immigrant Irish, Chineese, ect... and now Latinos. I wonder what would happen to our monetary system if EVERY single person on this planet had an equal education? This is in fact necessary on so many different levels, but it will, by the very nature of global economic infrastructure, cause a complete breakdown of the system--yet it's the abosulte right thing to do.

If we remove fear (that fabulous mindkiller!) from the equation, and look at a one-world currency logically, I think we need to ask ourselves if there is any other way? The golden rule will still be alive and kicking should this take place (he who has the gold "rules") because certainly each country would have a different level of wealth, even if it is the same "coin". The only way out of situations like these, is to understand that we are all on the same team--Team Earth! Our team is only as strong as our weakest players.. Globalism will continue on a downward spiral until it becomes more aligned with "humanism".

This is not to be confused with socialism--they are not the same. When I look at the long-term (decades) scale of this, I personally don't see any important changes coming until a one-world currency is set up under the same infrastructure we have now, and it too fails. Only then will there FINALLY be no excuses left for not taking the personal, intellectual and spiritual evolution of every last person on this planet into consideration in making ANY policy--especially the financial ones. As it states on our dollar: "Out of many, One". If only we still understood this!!

I am constantly amazed at the conservative/libertarian paradox that is expressed so vehemently on this site. How can we be for limited government/no government while at the same time railing against EVIL big pharma and the Monsantos of the world, who are attempting to live out that very "no government" fantasy?

Free markets will save the world!!! Yeah, right. The little government restraint that exists is all that is preventing corporate america from destroying what's left of our planet.

On the front page of today's KC Star, there is this brief description of Christina Romer (Obama's director of economic advisers): "An expert on the Great Depression who believes activist government can have a beneficial effect."

However, there is this article from the UCLA Newsroom (2004) that shows the results of a four year study done by two university economists. It states rather clearly that FDR's policies (government activism)actually PROLONGED the depression by 7 years!

Needless to say, the study has gotten very little play in the main stream media.

This video shows some extremely prescient comments by Peter Schiff from '06 and 07'. What's interesting is how these so-called 'experts' were laughing at him and calling him a fool--not unlike how Ron Paul was treated by the media and his opponents.
