Roberta Ritter, 37, claims: "I had the welts that were very red, hot to the touch, extremely inflamed, blistery. But they are made of silicone...and I for one am allergic :-( . I also am "well endowed" and absolutely need the support of an underwire! But having worked in several lingerie stores,Dr. Mercola is right, most women are wearing the wrong size. Same goes for shoes BTW. One has to weigh the risks versus the comfort,a poor supporting bra can also cause back problems.

I agree with Katie B that most men act like jerks when they see a woman without a bra. I hate being ogled (Men, grow up). I wear two layers of tops when I have to be in public. The under layer is a rather snug-fitting tank top or tee shirt. That helps to keep the girls from bouncing too noticeably, but does not hinder circulation. The top layer is looser fitting and helps hide the girls.

This is the first time since then that I have read anything that links bras to breast cancer. I am so glad to see it.

The report also stated that women who breastfeed their babies also have a much reduced risk of breast cancer.

Guys, if you want to wear a kilt, feel free to do so. I promise not ogle you. After all, it is better for your health.

I personally know two men who suffered rashes from wearing permanent press back when it was heavy with formaldehyde. There's an article in Wikipedia explaining the history of permanent press: en.wikipedia.org/.../Permanent_press . There's less formaldehyde in it now, but the nanotechnology fabrics may carry risks.

I react to elastic plus I wear a hard-to-find bra size (42A) so I order latex-free custom-sized bras from decentexposures.com. These are not sexy-looking but at least they are comfortable. Going bra-less makes my breasts ache. (An A cup in a 42 is not as small as it sounds; it equals a C cup in a 38. Bra sizes are not entirely logical.)

If the lab tests showed it, how can she say they don't use any.

I do have some VS bras that I bought earlier but most of them are the cotton types (I always try to buy and wear cotton and not plastic next to my skin) and I don't wear them exclusively. I also have a plastic one but I almost never wear that. So far haven't had any problem from either this or the cotton ones but I also wonder now if the cotton ones are safe???

I don't think nature ever intended for us to live in cities, or at least cities as we know them today. I can't think of a more unnatural environment. As a former city dweller, I remember (and don't miss at all,) how much effort it took for me to stay healthy in that environment.

Most of my friends thought I was nuts to become an organic farmer at the age of 50. It was a lot of hard work and I'm still adjusting, but I sure don't miss the daily make-up and cosmetic routine, or the pressure to dress a certain way for whatever job I had. And I particularly don't miss having to "workout". Farming alone is all the exercise I need to stay fit, so I don't have to get "creative" with covering my "girls". Well-worn/washed denim work shirts and sweatshirts do the job just fine. Those breast pockets always do the trick.

Maybe some of you city gals could consider substituting your bras for shirts and blouses with breast pockets, at least some of the time. I can't see how sticking anything at all to your nipples could be the least bit healthy, I don't care what brand it is.

SO comfy. Once you find the correct size, you must try on sizes and use that measuring tape to find just the right fit. I wear the lovely cotton stretchy leisure bras around the house and even to work, since I do daycare. I save the heavy-duty balcony bras for going out!

Anyway- what with all the buzz now that comes out that our FDA allows melamine in baby food- and this stuff- it obvious that all of you must join my bandwagon and start squawking like crazy to Washington! (www.congress.org) is a great site you can find your reps and email and phone them! It's time we demand our FDA be sane. They allow a "little bit of this" and it all adds up to a LOT.

I'm sorry but this lawsuit is ridiculous, she had an allergic reaction and the "solution" is to quit exposing herself to a known allergen.
