"If there is one, single most important shortcoming in the research investigating the toxicity of vitamin D in humans, it is that despite decades of controlled animal experiments showing that each of the fat-soluble vitamins protect against the toxicity of the others, research in humans continues to address the toxicity of vitamin D as if its actions were independent of vitamins A, E, and K.

In 1937, Wayne Brehm presented before the Ohio State Medical Association the results of an experiment comparing the effects of the administration of cod liver oil with that of vitamin D2 to over 500 pregnant women. Vitamin D2, especially in conjunction with calcium, produced extensive abnormal calcification of the placenta, in one case extending into the uterine wall, and in three cases producing kidney stones within the developing fetus; cod liver oil, by contrast, produced no more tissue calcification than seen in controls.50 Brehm could not demonstrate, however, whether the results of his experiment were attributable to the difference between vitamins D2 and D3, to a protective effect of vitamin A, to a protective effect of other constituents of cod liver oil, or to some combination thereof.

The same year, Agnes Fay Morgan, Louise Kimmel and Nora Hawkins became the first American researchers to demonstrate that vitamin A protects against the toxicity of vitamin D.51 Citing German research that had been completed over the previous three years showing that the lethal doses of several fish liver oils fed to mice were identical to that of synthetic vitamin D2 when the liver oils were stripped of their vitamin A,52 and that large doses of vitamin A protected against vitamin D toxicity,53 the Morgan team fed rats various concentrations of vitamin A with toxic doses of vitamin D in various forms. The doses of vitamin D used were 4,000 IU per day or greater."

Once upon a time we worked in the sun most of the day. Now though we are stuck in some highrise, with windows designed to block those healing, life giving rays, and it is no wonder we are dying from disease. No fresh air, all day, and we find ourselves breathing in, what others breathe out. Our soil is worthless for growing food in many cases, our water is full of many toxins, as is the air we breathe. But hang in there people BIG PHARMA, has a way to kill you much sooner, and turn a profit. At the same time they lie to us, or they prevent access to the truth. One of the local television stations is about to run a report about how drinking bottled water endangers the dental health of our children. In other words it is ok to rot your teeth from within, just keep the enamel entact.

Do not forget your "Sunblock." What a joke, and the really bad part of this mess is when you tell people there are benefits to sun exposure, most laugh, tell you that your head is screwed on wrong.

I was just wondering if Sunshine (full spectrum) floresent bulbs are a helpful supplement to real sunshine in the home. And how about solar windows, are they just as effective as outdoor sun light?

All the good cures and preventive therapies for cancer are good and have helped someone.

2 things to think about:

1- What is good for one is not necessarily good for all or at all times (timing is also a factor in success in treatments)

2- Since treatment is as unique as each case of disease, one is best served if all areas of possible imbalance are covered.

Here are the main areas of cancer cure/healing we want to address:

1- Physical imbalances - nutrition, water, toxins, vitamins - all these are results and not causes of cancer. They can at best be contributing to the crisis of the body that produced a tumor, but they are not directly responsible for the cancer.

2- Emotional shocks or trauma that may have triggered a physical over-reaction. The body will always respond to our needs, be they mental or real, with physical measures. Those will show up in a variety of imbalances and deficiencies and so on - including a tumor.

3- Mental conflicts - the well-known and documented cancer state of mind of "a life not lived", being sweet and living for others, self-negation leading to a crisis of the self. With that in the way, the person may not have what it takes to seek help and may succumb to the disease, seeing no purpose in living a life that does not bring joy.

4- Hereditary factors that can lead to any of the above and can be eliminated.

All of the above can be addressed with a combination of physical measures, homeopathic remedies, counselling and any of the many wonderful therapies known to have removed tumors and restored health - when applied in a program unique to each person and when timing of their application is observed.

E.g. to try to cure cancer with Vit D when a person is in a crisis of a mental or emotional nature of suffering of serious toxic shock, is bad timing, for example. It will increase welbeing, no question, but will not cure.

I would also add..read about Rene Caisse's work..and the results obtained with Essiac tea that is freshly prepared at home. Not capsules,or store-bought bottles. There are many cancers, and many ways to help the body heal, keep looking and try the natural ones. Nothing but a few bucks to lose, and everything to gain.

OK folks..here's my two cents on the cancer topic: Get your computer on and Google these two names and start reading.

Dr Tullio Simoncini and Clifford Beckwith. The first is an Italian doctor who began his career in pediatric oncology and QUIT following the mainstream because he was sick at heart because all the children died. You should be able to find a video of an interview with him. It shows how he cures cancer with baking soda...yes, baking soda...because he knows what starts it all.

The second name is just a regular guy who followed his nose...and had the courage to spread the word.

The best solution to Colon Cancer is not to get it in the first place by drinking the best water on the planet. My mom had breast cancer, so prevention is very important for me. A must read about Vitamin D and Actvator X is Weston Price's Nutrtion and Physical Degeneration. One of the best books I have ever read. I take Green Pastures Butter oil and their Raw fermented Cod liver oil. I have been amazed with the results. I have taken another brand and did not have any results. This has helped my skin clear and my allergies are better. I am in my early 30's and my libido was non existent and now it is back to normal. I give to my daughter and she had a small fungal spot on her knee and that just went away. I tried many natural things for that and nothing worked. We have also been without sickness this winter thus far. For me it has been great addition to my health.

i hate to be a party pooper, but if the new CODEX keeps going

,"if a supplement( or ingredients in it) has been researched as a drug,"

which is how this research is framed, {Catch 22 they want scientific} proof about supplements, when they work (surprise) they are then not safe for the public to have available as a natural food/supplement.

Vit D will be one,

as is Stevia- about to be- as coke/ pepsi have patented the active sweetener,

Like CO Q10 is subject to a world wide supplier of...exactly ONE maker!!

and my how the price does vary!

Commercial food items, can brag about minimal addition of something and boast health,

yet real foods and natural supplements cannot make a claim for health in any way.

now , is it just me? or does anyone else think it somehow a stacked deck??

the combination of whatever the research used will be "approved" and the rest??..

The Cure and Prevention Of All Cancers H R Clark 2007 PhD ND releases you from trying to prevent or fight different cancers with all the titbits of information flying around.Causes and pathways have now been identified using resonance comparison and sensitive Geiger counters, (for the polonium from water, cigarettes, amalgams, radon gas etc) . No, it is NOT junk science, as one reader here commented. Dont knock this one til you have read it. Keep always in mind that the vitamin C cure for scurvy took 400 years for acceptance by mainstream medicine, so they will fight/ignore/defame this one for a loooong time..

I can't believe it has taken so long for vitamin D to get noticed. Where was it all these years? I grew up hearing about vitamin C for colds, then there was a lot on the (now largely discredited, I believe) heart benefits of vitamin E. But as far as I know, the attention to vitamin D is recent. Do you have any idea why? (Serious question.)
