The toxin raises the protein content, and at present the world is protein crazy. We need protein of course, but even this has a limit. Too much protein can be harmful. As for melamine, it killed many of our pets, and now the FDA, claims there is no harm to be derived from this garbage being in infant formula, give me a break. Even if the levels are low, there is this thing called build up. You know it like very many other toxins, it effects the liver. Besides, just what is it that the FDA thinks is killing the Chinese babies who have been fed the tainted baby formula?

Those who worry about population control and overpopulation, need to understand one very important fact.

Overpopulation models all operate on the concept that humanity has 100% fertility in its breeding population, and there are no natural or un-natural controls of current population levels.

The globalists rulers, corporations, big banks, and mystery religion types who have welded themselves to the positions of political and religious power, have been assaulting humanity's fertility, and humanity itself.

They do this attack on us, not just with the use of melamine and other food toxins, but with lethal GMO food, and flouride products in the water and dental products. The toxins in food, water, and even plastic containers of bottled water are poisoning us directly, and in the case of some toxins, destroying male and female fertility.

The result of this one hundred year assault on human fertility and human survival has born bitter fruit.

Currently Japan, Europe, The United States and other first world nations have sustained such large loss of fertility and premature death from cancer, various degenerative disease, and heart disease, that the native human populations in those countries are no longer replacing lost people with newborns.

The implosion of the first world populations have been masked for decades by the constant importation of immigrants from the third world, but even the third world populations are in the process of collapse, and implosion of numbers, due to the loss of human fertility and shortening of human lifespans.

If the human populations were small in number, this implosion would be noticable, but the large number of people are hiding this collapse in sheer numbers. Unfortunately, many of the third world populations are becoming depleted in very young people, and an aging population needs these young and healthy people to sustain society.

If this crash occurs too fast, you could end up with a dead economy, and chaos, since this civilization needs a certain number of healthy young people to sustain from generation to generation.

I've been boycotting Nestle since 1997 (not an easy thing to do, since their brand is hidden in many of our every-day items) because they get mothers in Third World countries (and in the U.S., for that matter) to give their babies formula by giving them free samples, thus drying up their milk. These women can't afford formula and their babies need mother's milk, so the babies starve and become malnourished. It's an ongoing boycott and I hope to God it continues and grows.

You also do not want to use fluoridated tap water to mix infant formula. Get a spring water with less than 0.1ppm fluoride in it.

Have you tried milk-based formulas with the milk protein further broken down? Some milk-sensitive babies can tolerate these which would be much better than soy formula.

137 to 140 parts per billion of anything was not detectable by ordinary chemical means when I worked as an analytical

chemist in 1961, and that amount works out to about one part in 7,299,270 parts of sample. How is melamine

treated by the body? Does it undergo changes into other compounds or is it eliminated by immune cells as an antigen?

There is probably 137 parts per billion of any compound or element in every sample of matter on earth, but not in the earth at depth.

Re Melamine. The FDA. it is a corrupt, criminal outfit that has lost all credibility. You should not even be studying their take on melamine. It has no meaning. Much the same as their declaration that mercury in vaccines and amalgams is safe, fluoride is needed etc..While you still have internet freedom, you must educate yourself, move out of the box, And beware the misinformation. The mainstream have their attack dogs such as Quack Busters, Wicked-pedia trying to discredit all beneficial alternatives. Then you have .doctors, ( apart from some heroic brave souls such as Doc Merc.) dieticians, sports trainers, celebrity chefs and food writers spewing out garbage on what is healthy.

Instead of bulking with toxic fillers, I reckon there would be a whole lot of sense to add the missing essential sugars (glyconutrients) that are in abundance in breast milk but sadly deficient (missing) in baby formulas! (or is that formulae?)

A bit too radical?

Or too costly?

Did we really expect them to show any integrity with this? I'll bet their children or grandchildren are not using these formulas. How do they figure it's OK to take someone's child's wellbeing into their own hands?

Critics are accusing the FDA of arbitrarily setting a safe level to give the appearance of safety (not to mention the appearance that FDA officials know what the heck they're doing). But here's the kicker: Cyanuric acid is a byproduct of melamine.
