Found this site and gave the mix a try. It's one part bees wax, one part raw honey, and one part olive oil. I put it on my daughter's atopic dermatitis (eczema) and she was clear within a week. I wanted to find something natural since she is only 6 months old. It's supposed to work well on psoriasis as well.

My mum's doctor told my mum to STAY OUT OF THE SUN and to use sun block! Now after reading Dr. Mercola's advise, I was at first angry. But as I think back. THAT WAS EXACTLY what allopathic doctors were taught! They have no way of dispensing good medical advise outside of what they were trained! That anger has now changed to...should I say SADNESS! Because these doctors are now powerless unless they read more than what they are told to do so!

UBIQUINOL - new active reduced form of CoQ10

New and better home tx for eczema ?

Try this, get one soft gelcap of Ubiquinol (new active form of CoQ10), nick capsule with knife. Add few drops of vegetable oil (medium chain triglycerides (MCT) from coconut oil is good) to plam of hand, then squeeze out CoQ10 into same palm of hand. Mix with finger and apply to eczema. May need to keep very gently massaging into skin to break up any specks of CoQ10. The product tested was that by Life Extension Foundation called Super Ubiquinol CoQ10, an enhanced-absorbing form of ubiquinol.

Repeat about every other day. Quick results. Probably quick results for other too.

The "studies", rather reports, that suggested tea tree oil and lavender were in danger of causing feminization of boys failed to look at potential causes or to understand the pharmacodynamics of the two essential oils. The lavender report involved a shampoo that could have a number of potential compounds and had no estimate of concentration, which was likely quite low and possibly adulturated since the oil is often blended- more lavender essential oil is sold retail than is harvested and distilled. These reports basically consist of hearsay without any study or suggestion of means of causation. It is just as likely a result of their diets.

While some essential oils are potentially dangerous, both of these can even be used neat. Until there is real research suggesting danger by someone who understands how the oils work, there is no evidence to indicate that lavender and tea tree oil are dangerous.

I actually get what appears and behaves to be eczema, but it only flares up in the late fall and winter and only appears on my shins. It is maddening, and just like Dr Mercola describes, it is so itchy, and THEN becomes a rash. It doesn't seem to be food related for me, or related to the health of my gut as I've cut out allergens and healed my gut, but I still get it, and always at that time of the year.

What I have found has really worked is bathing a couple of times a week in mineral salts. It has been like a miracle. I was very close to going and getting a stronger prescription for steroidal cream because it was driving me nuts, but luckily I started the mineral salt baths (along with dry brushing) and it is 99% gone (still get a very short flare up of itch once in a while, but I put a good natural borage oil based lotion on it and that helps calm it down so i don't scratch it and make it worse). So Dr Mercola is on the money when he says applying a mineral salt pack to it will help tremendously. I really recommend it, and its good for you all over too, if you can bathe in it.

II'm kinda surprised that nobody (that i saw) has asked or mentioned the "light treatments" doctors push first for psoriasis. does anybody know if those are safe? i'm not exactly sure if they use UVB or UVA or both..

I was diagnosed with sebbhoric dermatitis when I was 12 and told to "use a different dandruff shampoo every day of the week" to avoid becoming immune to the shampoos.

That didn't work. Next they gave me all kinds of steroid creams, but it was so difficult to use on my scalp - and I wasn't about to go to college and ask my roommate to go through my hair like a monkey to get the cream on there. I also have spots on my face (in my eyebrows, on my eye lids, in the crease by my nose, and in the corner of my mouth.)

Eventually I learned to live with the itching, flakes and flareups but I've still been searching for something that I could use that would actually help. My husband has a few spots on his head now that seem to be flaring up more and more. I can't remember what his doctor told him it was - contact dermatitis maybe? - but he has some kind of cream he's supposed to use every day before showering.

I'm hoping to try limiting gluten for a week or so to see if that helps any. Both hubby and I take Omega 3 capsules daily.

About 10 years ago a dr prescribed some common ayurvedic herbs for something else. The day before, a 2 inch area on my elbow looked like an erupted volcano. When I started the herbs it vanished completely. I've since stopped taking the herbs, but it never returned.

I want to thank your for mentioning an alternative to krill and fish oil for eczema. Many times the answer to most problems is krill and fish oil but for those of us with fish and seafood allergies it is impossible to benifit

I had a son with eczema and I put a cup of vinegar his bath water and it went completely away. His skin was as soft as could be and he had had alligator skin on his tummy. I think maybe it has something to do with the ph of the skin which the vinegar somehow balances.
