I need to say something here about RSV. RSV, as Dr. Mercola says, does not usually cause serious sequele in normal children. The RSV vaccine was developed because very immune weakend infants needed it. I am an RN and worked in neonatal units when I was younger and managed them later in my career. Infants who are born with hylane membrane disease (a respiratory problem with neonates who are born a little early) and infants who are born very prematurely, get very ill when they contract RSV. The vaccine was developed to give to these infants before they went home, because the other children in the home could pass the virus on to them and it would cause hospitalization, ventilators and other very serious issues in those immune weakened infants. The infants eventually grow out of the weakened condition, but it takes a couple of years.

I am not awary that RSV vaccines are recommended for normal infants and children, but, I have been out of well child care for a while, so I could be outdated there.

I do support a more sensible vaccine schedule than is currently being used, but the RSV vaccine can be a good thing for the infants who need it. I also want to point out, that if an infant contracts RSV while still in the neonatal unit, it can spread very quickly throughout the unit and endanger the lives of many of the premature infants. When it is suspected, the infected infant is immediately put in strict isolation.

I thought maybe these tidbits would be useful to know.

I mention the EPFX because it can detect your reaction to lots of different things, much more than just food, so it can be much quicker and simpler than severely limiting your food and nutrients, playing a guessing game. It can also detect which organs are weakest and which are the most severely stressed. good luck!

Mercury: look up mercout.com. I'm not sure that's the website, but if you google it you'll find it. It's an organization trying to educate people about mercury toxicity.

Look into Quantum Biofeedback with the EPFX, it's an amazing device that can help you with just about any issue. It can also help with learning disabilities and detoxing, and again, I also encourage you to be supervised by a knowledgeable naturopath, especially for little kids.

I also did publichealth nursing during my training, and the hardest part of the job was giving vaccines I did not agree with. I'm now happy to be going independent.

Dr. M, THANK YOU for continuing the knowledge about vitamin D and vaccinations.

My daughter, nursed until age 2, has only been sick a handful of times in her 3 1/2 years. EVERY single illness was within 2 weeks of a vaccination.

She was getting sniffles/colds occasionally (when exposed) and I was battling them back with a echinacea, zinc, vitamin C supplement. It worked, but she would still be miserable for a few days.

After reading many of your articles on vitamin D, and then applying logic (we almost never get colds in the summer-we live outside as much as jobs allow) it dawned on me. A deficiency makes too much sense.

I used 800mg while she had sniffles, in two days, gone. Dropped down to 400mg and for over a month she has been 100% healthy, even though she played with her cousins over Christmas who had the flu.

I'm a believer-and the DR can stick the shots in her butt, not my darling daughters.

There is a wonderful Yahoo Group called Autism-Mercury. 8000 members. Most are chelating LD and Austistic kids (or "not autistic, But..." kids like mine) with frequent low dose ALA (some also use DMSA as it is more effective for certain metals) via Andy Cutler PhD's protocol. All the archives are public. High metals are determined by hair testing, usually Doctors Data hair elements tests. You can join A-M to get Digests, this is how I've learned a ton about supplements, food allergies, the connection between high metal levels and multiple problems, or just search their site but I'm warrning you there are thousands upon thousands of messages and so just signing up and reading what you can, I think, is the best way to learn about this vast topic.

Well, I have two colds at once. Lots of vitamin C, and alpha-lipoic acid helped a little. Ribose made me more energetic for a short while, but no improvement. Yesterday, I got Carlson's Lemon flavor Cod liver oil, tsp last night, tsp on my breakfast. Feeling distinctly better, but still low on energy. Maybe it means something and maybe not--one story does not tell you much. But I am taking a tsp per day until March and by then I will know.

One other thing-Jeremiah does drink a lot of orange juice for the calcium and vitamin c. (tropicana brand no pulp-he keeps pulling it out of his mouth). Almost all the fruit and vegetables he gets now are organic-except the oj-can't find one with calcium as well, and the chewable supplements have HFCS, dyes or artificial sweetners.

I, like Buton, have a child who lost skills. My son, now 2.5, was progressing normally and when I began introducing solids along with breast feeding, lost the little bit of normal talking he'd begun. This was at 10 months or so. He's never had a vaccine of any kind. I already knew at this point that he had food allergies as he reacted to things even in my breast milk. He vomited the rice cereal at 8 months, and has never tolerated any grain (with gluten or not) though seems to be ok with some corn. Even when his diet was only (gerber bottled) meat-beef, chicken, or turkey, vegetables-green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and fruit-pears, pineapple, and applesauce, Jeremiah did not regain his skills. He has never been diagnosed with anything on the spectrum, but is delayed in speech (but so were my now 23 and 20 yr olds-can't shut them up now). He is social and you can tell the intellect is there. If I do try him on some wheat-crackers, 1/2 slice fiber bread whatever-he would get very aggressive, head bang, scream etc, and also get a rectal rash (obviously an allergy). He's had similar reactions in the past to corn/grits, oats, millet, and a few other grains. I have tried giving him the baby acidophilous but didn't appear to have any improvement, There were times even a dish of mashed potatoes (no milk or butter) would make him hype-I think it's the carb overload. He can tolerate beans now.

Anyway-does anyone have any suggestions as to what could still be affecting him? I've had him on an isolation diet before of chicken, pears, and green beans but not much change. I have tried giving him Dr Sears fish oil in less quantity than recommended or he will be weepy and out of sorts but his speech slightly improves-adds a couple more words. Jeremiah doesn't get HFCS or dyes generally. (sometimes have to give him the benedryl for reactions) I don't know about digestive yeast problems though...how do you check for that? Rectal swab and culture?

Hello Everyone,

I very rarely post comments but am always educated by all of the responses, so I like to read them after each article Dr. M writes. I've been on the path for 19 years, but alas that is too late for my 3 children who are in there 30's and 40. All three have learning disabilities. I am now convinced they are combined vaccine injured and also injured as a result of mercury fillings that were placed in my mouth with each pregnancy. We thought it was hereditary because their dad was an immigrant and presented what seemed like a LD. Now I believe he was pumped with vaccines when he arrived on the US Shore and it resulted in his learning difficulties. He has a 21 year old daughter also with problems. This leads me to believe that his make-up/genetic profile was very sensitive and he and offspring were highly susceptible to vaccine reaction. I am old enough that I had all of the diseases but I didn't die. Another point I wish to share is fibro, chronic pain, IBS, arthritis etc are all linked. I agree it is something people are being subjected to on a daily bases and food is a big part of it and should be the first place to start making changes, but it is not the whole problem. Many have "dietary fructose intolerance" soy intolerance, GM Foods, mercury in our teeth, toxic toiletries and cleaning products, toxic clothing, furniture and carpets.........I could go on forever! I lost 2 of my pet chickens the last time we had chemtrails in the sky. The remaining just began laying again after almost a year. There is just SO MUCH, to know and watch out for and the powers of deception to confuse everyone about everything rum rampant. Stick with Dr M and you won't go wrong. When he makes a mistake he immediately brings you up to speed with why and always has products for us that he would use himself. Sorry for the long post. There is no reason to feel guilty about not vaccinating. My youngest brother, who is now in his late forties, had no vaccines as a child, and he was the healthiest and most intelligent in a family of nine children. My other brother came down with whooping cough one month after his third DPT shot and was seriously ill. I was born in 1944, and when I was a child it was considered normal for children to have measles, mumps, and chickenpox. They were considered harmless diseases. I have never met anyone in my entire life who had polio or a child with polio. The chance of a young child getting diptheria or tetanus is probably almost zero. If someone has a dirty puncture wound which may lead to tetanus (lockjaw), at that time they can get a tetanus shot right away, which would prevent tetanus. Contrary to what we've been told, it was better nutrition and sanitation that led to the decline of smallpox and not vaccination. There were smallpox epidemics in England and in the Phillipines after almost everyone had been vaccinated against smallpox.

I liked reading everyones post. I am a confused mother on vaccinations. I have only given my 1 year old son a few since his 2 month overload. He has gotten an ear infectin within 3 days of being vaccinated every time and I think its crazy. THe amount these poor babies are to receive is horrible. I have another baby on the way and don't know what to do. I feel guilty not vaccinating and feel bad shoving all of those foreign chemicals into their bodies. I have not found a doctor yet that is understanding or cooperative, thats part of the big issue. THey make me feel like I am purposely hurting my child by not vaccinating when I think it is the other way around. Any advice?

I think we all here in the Mercola fold know that vaccinations are all, ALL, dangerous. I've backed up my daughter when she refused to get a flu shot while pregnant. Her doctor was adamant that the shot was

safe and would not harm her unborn baby. She asked her female doctor if she would get the shot if she was pregnant and got no answer, except that she would consider it.

Myself, since I've retired from the air force, I have had no more mandatory flu shots and have had only one

case of flu, a five hour one, that was over with no lingering side-effects. The mandatory flu shots I got while

still in the air force always resulted in me getting the flu for three days. Even though the air force knew this,

I still got ordered each year to take the shot.

Now that I get ample vitamin D for the last three years, my immune system is able to stop all all viral attacks, including the flu. I don't even get the sniffles anymore.

I have a friend who now suffers from severe Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia and IBS thanks to a bad batch of vaccines administered to her as a teenager in Great Britain. It is clear that her immune system was left a mere shadow of its normal self by that "disease fighting" vaccination. Needless to say, she refuses any vaccines and only suffers the consequences of an acknowledged bad batch of vaccine that her government okay'd for use on children.

If I thought writing Ron Paul's name on dollar bills would help educate the public on the state of our health care I would do it in a nanosecond but alas they do not want to be educated and those of who try are billed as lunatics.

I've tried to educate so many people about vaccine safety, they look at my like I am crazy. I have sent out close to 100 emails and the only reply's I got were: why are you sending me this.

I believe my sons Autistic behavior is due to overvaccination. He was talking, walking, socializing well ahead of his peers and following MMR and DPT shots he's been slowly regressing, to the point, he lost all talking, social skills and eye contact at 18months. When you have a regression there has to be some king of "accident" that changes your brain chemistry it just can't happen for no reason. Of course our neurologist said that we don't really know what causes autism, ...

I've managed two people delay their vaccines, but in the end they succumbed to the all mighty BIG PHARMA.

People its time to buy BUMPER STICKERS with Vaccine Safety and with Obama's change we have Dr. Gupta a knows vaccine pushers, lets see what "change" he'll bring. RON PAUL was the only presidential candidate who said we are totally overdoing the vaccines and he's a DOCTOR. I write Ron Pauls name on every dollar bill I get, I can't find anywhere it says its illegal, besides what they are doing to our economy right now... anyhow.
