In one of the video games based on Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six' series that came out a few years ago, there's a fictional future scenario in which a skirmish occurs between Russia and Georgia - in the year 2008. Is Tom Clancy psychic?

In the 1960s, Ralph Baer invented the "Brown Box" prototype - which would eventually be released to consumers in 1972 as the Magnavox Odyssey - at Sanders Associates, a military electronics firm which was tied to the Pentagon. Sanders Associates has since been absorbed into Lockheed Martin which is now a subsidiary of BAE Systems, the world's largest defense contractor. Do a Google search for "Guns, Games, and Glory" which goes into further detail about Baer inventing the home video game.

Also keep in mind that when it was still owned by Warner Communications, Atari and the U.S. military teamed up to create a version of Atari's hit BattleZone arcade game for military training.

The citizenry should keep a vigilent eye and leash on the goings on of military- especially today as we progress. Military is actually not about preserving individual liberty, but about large-scale collective control for whoever is in power.

called kids innocent stuff - Pokemon - is all about having battles. There are a few animal, & pet vet,

& other younger games, along with Brain Age that are alright - but when compared with those intended

to excite & desensitize our kids to violence, the odds are certainly stacked in the favor of those who wish to promote our kids into becoming robots of the system.

All that aside these games disconnect our kids from life & old fashioned playtime with friends, not to mention learning how to socialize with others. They become dull, & physically out of shape as well. As a parent, I think it's bad enough that most schools have stopped having recess. While the information our children need to learn is important - they must also learn how to interact with one another & de-stress.

As an alternative healthcare practitioner I'm finding that kids & adults are now showing up with more neck, shoulder, arm & hand pain - due in part to both the computer, & these games, due to the small motor movements required by the body to perform - not to mention headaches & eyestrain. So the effects of these electronics are far reaching!

Children's games...childish adults playing their versions. I remember a Robert Mitchum war flick, I think it was "Anzio", in which he played a war correspondent...his character called war a game - the ultimate game (pissing off those around him who considered what they were doing anything but a game...).

Here is perverse: instead of developing technology, like that which is described herein as a solution to macular degeneration DIRECTLY, it comes instead in the form of a spin-off from developing it to kill people more efficiently. It will be profitable put to the good use, but will never be anywhere near as profitable as when put to the bad use. Then we are treated to these, "but see, look at the good that comes out of warfare" rationalizations.

Children are supposed to be emotinally & psychologically immature, they're still growing, developing. The people that pursue & attain gov power, & the profiteers behind them, are stunted...now, instead of cap guns, the bigger bullies have "technology", & all the lesser bullies want it too....
