hard work you're doing. It gives me hope! I created a blog about the same critical issue

and I'm doing what I can to raise awareness on this critical vital issue from my own

personal experience. I'm striving to raise awareness about the vital importance of

protecting children and animals from the horrifying dangers of exposure to secondhand smoke.

Please love your animals and don't smoke anywhere near them! The blog discusses everything

related to big tobacco, non-smokers' rights, and all the health dangers related to smoking

and having to breathe secondhand smoke and secondhand smoker's breath. I invite you to

I told this to her father and I don't know if he believed me. Perhaps he thought that I lied just to get him to quit. I am also affected by his "third-hand smoke" but not as bad as my daughter. His daughter I guess is not that important to him!! I know she is, but I thought letting him know that his daughter literally gets sick when she smells the cigarette smoke on him when he comes home from work didn't do the trick!

Perhaps reading this article might make him believe me now! I could tell him something and he doesn't take me seriously! I'm fed up already with his smoking and both his daughter and I want him to quit smoking already!!

Born in '46. Everywhere I, or millions of other kids and adults went indoors the air was saturated with smoke. Lungs were size of a stub pencil through much of it, 99.99 % of the adults and kids did not contract lung cancer from that haze. It is a lie ! Few 'snoots' who dislike aroma have 'mushroomed' it to this. We are talking of, at least, 1880's to 1990's. Somebody must have hired a NY ad mad on this. 'Third-hand'. 'Forth-hand' and beyond .... those NY boys are good. Give it a sober, honest glance.

It's a secretly guarded fact that cigarette manufacturers use Potassium nitrate(better known as salt peter) (one of the elements of GUNPOWDER) in their cigarette papers to keep them burning faster and longer. Think about that chemical or changes it might have going into the lungs and blood! Besides it may increase the chance impotency to anyone that smokes.

And here is pet peeve to chew on, I'm tired of drivers flicking their ashes out of their windows. We don't deserve that kind of a slap in the face.

no i am not a smoker and yes i am healthy enough to smell everything....my father in law was a heavy smoker and he reeked...i refused to visit or ride in his car but that did not stop him!

i did not say that second hand smoke was ok ....it is not and i'm glad its been banned in public places....

BUT third hand smoke?.......... what do you do about someone having smoke on thier clothes? pass a law demanding they shower and change before going out?

its a good law that smokers do not have the right to smoke anymore in public but i will defend thier right to smoke in thier own homes and cars...............i don't have to go in them and i do not.

carry a mask.

i have tinnitus and very sensitive hearing.....i can't expect others to care about the noise level around me so therefore i carry ear plugs on my person and ear protectors in my car as any loud noise can affect me for days on end.......... noise pollution is very real also. ( boom boxes, leaf blowers etc,)

some people will smoke no matter what but you cannot legislate common sense.

I know you can't stop smoking no matter how hard you try, but you knew this before you started. Still that is no reason to justify forcing the rest of us to smoke with you.

Many smokers have learned to be considerate of those around them who do not smoke. While driving in a car, some smokers plan stops where they can take a few puffs every few miles so that those in the car don't have to breath in the poisons in their exhale or continue to smell the smoke in their clothes for the rest of the day.

The rest of you need to learn that many of us do not like smelling like ash trays all day.

I see 5-6 patients a day 95% of them are smokers or ex-smokers. They are all very ill with respiratory disease, dementia (yes smoking can cause dementia), cardiac disease or cancer. Most are not obese. Some have lost loved ones who lived with them to respiratory disease or cancer.

After I leave the smokers homes I reek of cigaretts even though I ask that they not smoke while I am there. All of them admit smoking was a mistake, and they know it is why they are so sick. It is a drug habit that is harder to quit than Heroin and one way or another it will damage or kill you.

Cigarette smoke hasnt been one of them, strangely enough. Maybe because I was a smoker for 21 years, and quit cold turkey 9 years ago. Maybe I have a tolerance for it? My hubby almost goes into an asthmatic attack just at the hint of a cigarette, and he was a smoker also, and quit 11 years ago.

Send us down the chemical aisle in any food store or Wally World and the two of us come out the other end wheezing with purple faces and bright red ears. Either way, we get stared at a lot and go home feeling ill.
