He eats it at least once a day, sometimes more. We buy organic mayo, but it is made with soybean oil. What is a healthy alternative? I enjoy hommus. While he likes some of the hommus I buy, I doubt he'd be willing to trash the mayo and convert to hommus. What is a healthy alternative to mayo? I've thought about making my own spreads with things like avocados, etc. Any suggestions on what I can realistically get him to switch to?

Soy is a staple of the Okinawans' diet and they are one of the longest-lived people in the world. Why doesn't all of the negative health benefits of soy affect them? Are they consuming a different, unrefined soy?

re: The Dark Side of Soy

The confusion is over about soy. Soy is a good . Why the negative reports?

The scare tactics used by soy antagonists will leave you with meat / milk / and prescription drugs. Think about it! Is a piece of meat from a dead animal that is loaded with bugs, microorganisms, diseases, animal by products, blood, saturated fat, hormones, antibiotics, etc. causing heart attacks, strokes, cancer, disease (and

make you use more medical services and prescription drugs) - this is better than a bean ???

According to an FDA scientific review, soy does not interfere with childhood growth, does not cause pancreatic or *** cancer, does not significantly interfere with mineral absorption as long as dietary consumption is adequate, does not induce early puberty, and does not interfere with fertility. Soy may induce allergies, but that is not sufficient reason to ban it from the marketplace.

Scientific studies show that soy : (there are thousands published on the internet)

lowers cholesterol, especially dangerous and heart hurting LDL, lowers blood pressure, kills cancer cells,

has an excellent source of non saturated fat protein, lowers psa levels in men and shows greatly reduced prostate cancer, etc.

some Phytates: are found in soy, grains and legumes. Take extra mineral supplements if concerned.

Protein inhibitors are found in soy: take protein digesting enzymes if worried .

So what does all of this good about soy really do? Reduces the multi billion dollar drug/ meat/dairy industry. Cuts into their blood pressure pill profits and their chemotherapy/radiation profits (because people will be doing less of these) and cuts down on other medical services.

Most studies showing soy danger , will overload a small animal with outrageously high doses of soy protein or isoflavones, and then claim: mineral blockage from phytates, cancer, thyroid problems, hormone imbalances, etc.. email me at ohealthmedical@cs.com and i'll send you my whole study - free with references

I drink organic whole soymilk from eden and used to eat eden black soybeans and do not understand this anti soy situation. When I eat organic whole unfermented soy I am the same after I ate it and feel the same. I do eat a little miso with every meal and maybe that makes the difference. Why is one of the best beans under attack? I think the real enemy is non organic improperly proceesed GMO junk. Its a matter of listening to your body. If it works then it works.

I am a chocolate addict and almost all commericial milk chocolate contains lecithin as an emulisfier. Also, almost all commercial bakery products, sweets and frozen dinners use it. I also have a problem with hydrolysed soy protein, which is used in almost everything manufactured as a coloring/flavoring agent. Even my gastrologist was sceptical, as there are no "official" reports on negative reactions to soy products.. Since I'm not "allergic", they want treat is as a digestive problem, meaning I have no real disease that can be treated.

Almost everyone I know thinks I'm strange, because afterall, soy is so wonderful. I really believe the soy industry (Monsanto) is behind all of this.

No one seems to care. No one is doing anything about this toxic substance.

I see people with my symptoms who have been diagnosed by doctors into false diseases, drug consuming victims, and dying an early death for no apparent reason.

How can we get this substance out of our food supply?

I have been recovering from the most nightmarish of physical symptoms. I doubt I will ever be totally well from the horrors that have been done to my physical organs by soy. I am fighting back with everything I know. I cook all my own foods fresh every day, have no known soy in my foods, and am slowly getting better. It is difficult.
