i did not watch sicko.

michael moore screws up all his documentaries by starting with his opinions and bias, and then searching for facts to support it.

this is not how you are supposed to do it

form a hypothesis, research the hypothesis, analyze the data, then formulate a conclusion. the conclusion should be based on the facts. it may not support your hypothesis, but should be shared anyway.

sometimes people are wrong

Beware of socialism, income redistribution, and oh those who would keep taking our hard-earned money from us. Let's get naturopaths legal in ALL the states, for a start, and let us all commit to eating all the organic we can afford and personally not adding to pollution (household chemicals, perfumes, synthetic fibers, plastics, etc.). Did you know that the Gulf country leaders come to the U. S. when they are seriously ill, those oil billionaires? I had relatives who lived in Canada, and boy are they happy to be here. Also, have close friends from Switzerland and they dislike their socialist system. My naturopath did diagnose my rheumatoid arthritis BEFORE my allopathic doctor's lab test could pick it up. My naturopath doctor took a looonnnngggg family history, my eating, exercising habits, and so much more. He was able to diagnose much before the lab tests were done: candida, rheumatoid arthritis, hypothyroid, food allergies, leaky gut, iron (and other) deficiences, depleted intestinal flora, parasite, metal poisoning (all I can remember now). He used Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab tests (now Genestra), one of the best labs in the country. It's been a long, hard struggle, but the improvements have been great! Only observant people can tell I have rheumatoid arthritis (my thumbs didn't straighten out completely). I still struggle with lesser cravings for sugar and (whole grain) carbs (bread, bread, bread) and dislike exercising, but I do.

Hardly free. Tell us what your tax rate is. Pay health insurance, or pay taxes so the goverment can supply the healthcare. Same thing.

Also tell us about the wait times for getting healthcare? Tell us why so many people drive across the border to the USA, and pay for health care out of their own pocket because they can't do it in Canada, or wait sometimes months for treatment.

The last thing we need in the USA is to give the government control over the healthcare system. The FDA is a prime example of that. Should be protecting us, instead they are protecting big Pharma's profits, while they kill us or make us diseased.

I really admire Michael Moore, and I absolutely loved "Fahrenheit 9/11." He is compassionate, dedicated and tough as nails. I haven't seen Sicko yet, but I just want to say that as a person who has been damaged because I was insured, I tend to be against universal health coverage for "preventative medicine," which is what harmed me. But I do believe everyone should be insured for emergency care and operations. Also, I am for universal health coverage if we are given a choice which type of doctor we want to see. I don't think we should be coerced into going for unneccessary tests and taking unnecessary drugs by unconscionable drug-pushing doctors.

I've seen the US ranked as high as #2 in healthcare. I know big pharma has both major political parties in thier pockets, but I do agre with Dr. Mercola that his left coast solution is way out of wack. This country is way out of whack morally and is a full blown plutocrasy (sp?).

Even though Michael Moore makes some good points, his goal is socialism......

Universal healthcare will not rid us of diabetes, cancer, MS, etc....it will hurt middle-class people the most cuz the gov't will take half of our paychecks!!!

Michael Moore needs to eat better....he looks unhealthy!! If we all ate better and exercised and avoided Dr.s like the plague (except for a broken limb) we'd all be in better shape.

Achtung Americans . . . The AMA & Big Pharma don't want you to take care of your own health. They have lobbyists whose job it is to "convince" your representatives to restrict your ability to do so. And since our president will sign any bill that doesn't have the word Iraq in it, we are left defenseless. Let your representaives know you are watching and what you expect from them.

I live here in Canada and yes it doesn't always feel good to see your tax dollars going to pay for someone else's hospital bill who spent their whole lives neglecting and abusing their bodies. Solution= Education. Lesson #1- Ignore your health, and it will go away. Cause and effect...simple common sense!

And for the record, if for some strange reason I were to get sick, myself not having a family doctor I would go up to the 'walk in clinic' and be taken care of in about half an hour. Not hours! It could be better here but it's working for the most part, even for the poor.

AHH the truth is sooo elusive....do we trust Moore, the Government, the industry ????? By far, we should first choose the freedom to hear what they all have to say, then spend some time researching the facts on the almighty inernet ;) , or other media source. and distill a conclusion. What we do with the conclusion will change things...however fingerpointing changes nothing. Disseminating factual information informs people and when enough people vote with thier dollar and phone-email( to thier senators, represnetatives, etcc) the inertia begins shifting the direction of the powers that be. Indeed, we can even lobby God for change.

What i find very intersting is that the $2 Trillion spent by the US Govt anually on health care is equivalent to the total estimate for the Iraq War expenditure.. if we have this kind of money to throw at a war we should be able to design and implement a great healthcare system from the ground up; healthy food supply - to effective, economical medical treatment.

My son has been living in Germany for several years now. He married a German girl and they now have two children. One of the main reasons he and his family have remained in Germany is because health care is so much better there. He has told me many times that health care in Germany is incredible.

Michael Moore is such a left wing psycho, anything and everything he advances is, in my mind, suspect. His "facts" are nearly always propaganda. He is a master at the subversive art of creative editing such that the interviews in his productions are rarely honest and/or accurate. He may actually hit a nerve with one of his propaganda pieces as he has with "Sicko". As a viewer, don't ever forget that under it all, no matter what he says, there is an agenda and that agenda is the advancement of a socialist system not much different from those in a number of socialist dictatorships such as in Cuba. He is a cancer in and to the United States.

First of all, wow, wow, wow! You go, Michael Moore. Let's remember, that the ultimate moral of this story is how the media lies and destorts the truth! They twist and concoct their own convoluted version of anything that is presented to them all in the name of saving face and lining their pockets. Such is the case with Michael Moore's Sicko. Second of all, (just to let you know, I haven't seen the movie yet) there is, without a doubt, something terribly wrong with the "disease care system" in this country. And notice I called it disease care and not health care. They are not caring for your health. Instead they are stringing your disease along costing you and the rest of the country millions and millions of dollars in the process! They wouldn't know health if it hit them on the head. They are clueless! I keep thinking over and over again that I absolutely hate what this country has become and our forefathers are probably rolling over in their graves knowing what this govenment has become. We need to come together as a united front, (when I stated we, I was referring to those who have learned about what true health and wellness is) and educate the people and stop the government and it's henchmen from killing us all! Remember what you were taught in grammar school-SAY NO TO DRUGS! Well, do it! Stop popping pills for every little ache and pain. Stop poisoning your bodies with chemicals and additives. Eat only what was grown by Mother Nature herself (God-forbid I say that God grew)! Stop the insanity! :)

Michael Moore is not a journalist reporter or documentary film maker, he's an "entertainer", he has notoriously distorted the "facts" in his past films,...what leads anyone to believe he's not doing it now? He is definitely not the individual we should lookup to to bring charges against a damaged health care system. Put your money time and energy into credible sources of information, not hollywood personalities looking for box office numbers.

Ok here is my personal thought on Dr. Mercola's response to this movie and Michael Moore's solutions. The cost of medical care in this country does not have to bankrupt the government. The problem is we pay our doctors too much and we way over pay our hospitals,clinics and the price on presrciption drugs is rediculous. It may cost 25 cents to make a bottle of medication and yet we are charged $100.00 for it. If the government laid down some strict regulations on medical care cost the trillions of dollars they spend now would actually cover the true expense for everyone.

Have you ever been in the hospital and took a good long look at your bill. Your being charged $20 for things such as having tissue available in your room. We need to get real and stop over charging.

As far as taking control of your own health and using nutritional prevention I am all for that but let's face it some of us are not as lucky as others wether it be knowledge or the expense of doing what is right for your body. And many just look at their doctors as gods and swallow as many drugs as they give them which they are over-charged for. Put a true cap on medical care and you could solve the problem. I also feel medical doctors should be required to know more about nutrition than an apple a day. That they should actually learn how to cure rather than cover up. That each patient file should be randomly reviewed by a clinic committee to insure that this doctor is not indeed causing more problems for his patient by prescribing medications without a need.
