Endometriosis and Infertility

Dear Dr. Mercola, What suggestions can you give to women suffering from endometriosis and infertility?
Thank you,
Annie P.

DM RESPONSE:

I would advise seeking a clinician who understands how to evaluate salivary hormone levels properly. I use a company called Bio Diagnostics 1-800-570-2000. They should be able to provide you with a competent clinician in your area. The central issue with these problems is usually an estrogen dominance and relative progesterone deficiency. I would be cautious about using transdermal progestereone without some type of monitoring. I believe it is possible to normalize progestereone levels by addressing the adrenal/hypothalamus/pituitary axis through this testing. This usually involves lifestyle changes, such as sugar restrictions, addressing the psychoemotional stresses, and getting to bed by 9-10PM. Monitored sublingual administration of small amounts of DHEA and pregnenolone are also useful to reset the axis and have the body start producing the proper amount of progesterone. Additionally TBM clinicians have some other useful techniques that would help this problem. Many TBM clinicians do also use the Bio Diagnostics Lab. TBM clinicians can be found by calling 800-243-4826.
