War against mercury across the nation has been declared. Environmentalists, health professionals, scientists and attorneys have united. At a News Conference scheduled for April 24, in Washington D.C., science will be presented and legal initiatives across America will be announced, that promise to dwarf the tobacco industry lawsuits.

Doctors, dentists, lawyers and citizens rights groups are being asked to join in support of the Coalition of Americans against Mercury today!

It's your health, your environment and your children's futures at stake.

We need a strong voice for the April 24th news conference in Washington D.C.

Experts (including me) from across America will be in attendance and available to address all questions. Full media kits with legal documents and supporting science and reports will be available for all attending media.

One trillion dollars is one estimate to have mercury fillings replaced with safer materials, in every American who was deliberately deceived and not made aware of the potential dangers of mercury dental fillings (amalgam). Add to this the damage to health by mercury fillings, vaccines containing mercury, damages for declining real estate values due to mercury spills, and to the environment by industry and our dental professions and you begin to see the scope of the damages to be recovered.

Americans have always come to the aid of others in a time of need. Whether it was to defend, or to provide to those less fortunate in times of disaster.

Now, America faces a new enemy; a disaster that has been in the making for many, many years, right under your nose. This foe you cannot see, taste or smell. It carries no gun, but it is deadly. It has no organized strategy, but it attacks. It has invaded your food, your personal care products, your medicines, and your environment. It has poisoned your fish, contaminated your schools, contaminated your air and harmed your children.

While you are slow to anger, America -- you are quick to act. The time to act is now, to defeat this insidious enemy.

Your enemy America, is mercury.

That metal that you played with in chemistry class, that metal that your dentist put in your teeth, that metal you watched rise in the thermometer when you checked your temperature. That metal is a poison.

I’m sure you never imagined all those years as you recited the Pledge of Allegiance to your Flag, when you promised to protect and defend against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, that it would include an enemy you could hold in your hand. But here we are in the 21st century, being undermined and poisoned by a naturally occurring metal from Mother Earth.

However, "Mother" is not the culprit -- it is once again our fellow man. It is man who has imbalanced nature by mining, manufacturing and looking for easy, cheap ways to meet their goals. Mercury provided an end to a means, a money making venture -- but it is we, the American people, our children and future generations who are paying the price.

Who will come to our aid?

The rest of the world is also under attack by this enemy. Many countries recognized the war long before we did and began counter measures to defeat this common enemy. Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Canada all have instituted restraints against the use of mercury.

Our own EPA has issued reports to Congress warning of the dangers to human health from mercury.

But our government leaders turned a deaf ear and the invasion continued. The FDA flexed their power over the industries under their jurisdiction to have mercury removed from over-the-counter products -- but it is not enough. We the people - "Americans Against Mercury" in order to "preserve" this union we have created, must now come to our own aid to defeat this killer.

Scientists from around the world have studied mercury in all its forms. They have documented its effects on human and animal health. The reports are there -- but who is reading them?

Usually the people, who have already been poisoned, robbed of their health, their livelihood and years of their life. They are angry -- and worse -- they are too sick to mount a defense. They spend all their time and resources trying to get well. They try desperately to tell their story -- but people won’t listen because it isn’t affecting them. -- Or is it? Are you next? Will it affect you now -- next year? Or maybe the affects won’t be apparent until you’re in your golden years when it affects your mental faculties, robbing you of your "golden" years.

We, "Americans Against Mercury" do not believe the industries that make money from mercury over the scientists of the world.
