The Internet is a wonderful tool to both find and distribute information. I use it every day to compile information to share with you. In addition, many of the stories I receive come from readers of the newsletter.

My goal is to have this site grow into the number one health site on the Net. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is currently no central registry of health sites.

The ratings changed yesterday, May 19, and my site has gone up another 2,400 places. At this time the site appears to be the #3 natural health site (by traffic) on the Net.

As previously predicted, it passed #4 Life Extension Foundation AND the British medical periodical the Lancet this month.

There is a long way to go to catch #2, Dr. Weil, but I suspect that will happen in the late fall, as later this year I plan on implementing an incredibly innovative community technology that will:

Allow you to have all your individual specific health questions answered by natural health experts.

When that becomes implemented my guess is that my site will rapidly increase to the top 5,000 and should rapidly become the number one health site in the world.

One of the ways that one can objectively determine how much traffic a site receives is by the number of visitors to the site. This is only one criteria and is not necessarily associated with the quality of content at that site. However, it is one parameter that can be used to determine how others value the site.

The BEST way to inexpensively determine the traffic at a site is www.alexa.com. One needs to download their free software to your computer. The software then inserts a display window on your browser which actually shows you how the site you are visiting ranks among the over 50 million web sites in the world.

You may have to go deeper into the site to see the actual rating. For instance, on my home page the Alexa window says "Learn to Search Smarter" but as soon as you go into the site the window changes to Traffic *****Ranking #19,789.

Please ONLY send sites that you have CONFIRMED with Alexa that are in the top 100,000. (One needs to be sure that a subdomain is not involved in which the actual site reading will be high, but only because it is part of a much larger unrelated site like geocities.)

After you find the best health sites just send the information including the following four items:

• The name of the site
• The URL of the site (see below for example)
• The Alexa rating (see below for example)
• Any comments about how helpful or valuable you find the site

I have started the process off by listing some of the more popular health sites on the web today. As I said above, this list is far from complete and I am hoping you will help me compile the ultimate list for you.

One other helpful item you can consider doing if this web site has served you in the past is posting a comment on the Alexa toolbar about the site. You can do this by "double clicking" on the traffic rating in the Alexa window and then clicking on vote and write a review in the next screen that appears. There is one comment already there.

Why Should You Do This?

Good question. If everyone participates in the process, then my staff can compile the results and post them so all of us can benefit. It is a win-win for everyone.

I have started the process off by listing the top health sites I know. The ones in green are really web sites of medical journals and not true "health sites." They are there for comparison only.

I have listed all the health, NOT medical, sites in the top 100,000 that I am aware of. If you find more please let me know.
