Several readers have written to inform me of their displeasure with my recent emphasis on bioterrorism. I have chosen to do this because the mission I have with this newsletter is to protect their health and it is quite clear from the traditional media sources that the risk of bioterrorism is quite real indeed.
These dissatisfied readers failed to ignore that the bioterrorism articles were in ADDITION to my regular health news coverage, not in place of it.
Some people just don't get it. The terrorist attacks have forever changed this country.
Many of these people just want to go into denial and believe that nothing has changed.
They chose to ignore that the government banned all crop dusters for fear of bioterrorism. Not that it would help, as the terrorists have other mechanisms to distribute their germ warfare.
Folks this thing is real. Very real and for me not to report on it and provide you with my insights would be a very tragic act of irresponsibility on my part.
However, I am going to make a small concession and will be putting a new heading on the newsletter called Bioterrorism Updates, which will now be in back of the health articles.
The most serious threat for bioterrorism is anthrax and I am in the process of establishing a way that you can actually immunize yourself against anthrax. I have been working out the details with Dr. Klinghardt and I should be able to offer something very shortly in this area.
As confirmation of the impact of terrorism in this country my experience last week in my trip to a healing retreat with Dr. Klinghardt on Vashon Island outside of Seattle really hit this home for me. My flight out of O'Hare was most eerie. I first noticed something was up when the normal rush hour traffic to get to the airport was just like non-rush hour traffic. The normal several minute wait at the toll both off the tollway was only a few seconds. When we arrived at the airport the American Airlines dropoff section is typically three to four ROWS of cars deep.
Folks there were only six cars there.
Checking in was a snap as there was virtually no one in the airport. It was so empty at O'Hare you could roll a bowling ball down the normally crowded aisles and not hit anyone.
I was traveling with my chief therapist Jody and when she used the rest room she was the only woman in it. Most strange.
Returning back to Chicago however was another issue. Since arriving in Seattle they had recently tightened their security standards and were checking ALL vehicles going into the airport. This was the first barrier. The normal two-minute shuttle ride from Hilton to the airport ride had turned into a 45-minute ordeal.
Fortunately we returned to the airport at 4:30 AM for a 6:30 AM flight and it was only a ten-minute delay with the shuttle. But even at 4:30 AM there was more than a one-hour line to check in.
Security in Seattle did find my dental scaler that I had packed in my luggage that was not picked up at O'Hare. I find this tool very helpful for controlling dental plaque and thought for sure that it would be confiscated, but they actually let me keep it which is most strange as it would seem to be a more lethal instrument than toe clippers or a pocket knife. But I am grateful.
Both flights were nearly full, but I suspect this was related to other airlines canceling their flights and consolidating passengers on single planes to fill them up.
But here is what I have to share with you. If the following words don't send a shiver up and down your spine, I don't know what would.
Well waiting in line there were airport announcements of course. Here are the two that struck me.
We are all familiar with the warnings about leaving your luggage unattended. Well here is the post terrorism revision announcement:
Unattended bags will be confiscated and destroyed.
Unattended vehicles will be impounded please return to your car immediately.
So, if you leave your luggage it will be destroyed and leave your car you will lose it.
