By Joseph Hattersley
Two theories, two books. Both are right; but neither one alone completes the picture or offers the total cure.
First Theory
Harold D. Foster, PhD, professor of geography at University of Victoria, in Victoria, BC, Canada explains that HIV causes AIDS in the following manner. HIV-1 encodes for glutathione peroxidase (GSH). That means, a part of the genetic code of the virus is identical to the human genetic code for this enzyme. When viral copies are made, the virus must remove the materials that humans use to make GSH.
And so the virus competes with its host for the four components of that essential enzyme: selenium, cysteine, glutamine, and tryptophan. The dramatic role of selenium appears in Foster's "selenium-CD4 T cell tailspin." 1 Even if the HIV can't be eradicated, it can be effectively rendered dormant, preventing its conversion into AIDS using supplemented selenium.2
To reverse AIDS requires replenishment of the four nutrients, either by eating foods rich in them, or by supplements, or both. An ideal food, strangely, is cheeseburger because it contains three of the needed nutrients: cysteine, glutamine, and tryptophan. If the bun included about 10 grams of Brazil nut flour, rich in selenium, the cheeseburger would be close to an ideal AIDS-fighting food. In his book, Foster suggests acceptable ranges for supplements.
Investigators in various parts of the world need to do carefully controlled tests of this four-part therapy. When enough such tests are completed and published, the worldwide epidemic of AIDS caused by HIV will be on its way to resolution.
Dr. Foster self-published his book What Really Causes AIDS3 so that he could immediately put it onto the Internet for anyone to download and print out.
Second Theory
Mohammed A. Al-Bayati, PhD, DABT, DABVT, a toxicologist and pathologist, has shown that Prednisone and other glucocorticoid prescription drugs, used at high dose for an extended time, destroy immunity. They create AIDS with or without HIV. His book, too, is available at the push of a button: maalbayati@toxi-health.com.
Selections from his work: "AIDS in drug users and homosexuals in the U.S. and in Europe results from heavy ancillary use of glucocorticoids and other immunosuppressive agents. Physicians prescribe these drugs to treat a wide range of chronic illnesses of the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems, and other organs. They use the same class of drugs to treat malnutrition, the build-up of endogenous cortisol that malnutrition causes, and opportunistic infections. (He cites examples: stopping the offending toxic drug restored the immune system.)
"AIDS in infants and children is caused by their exposure to drugs and corticosteroids in utero, and to corticosteroids used after birth to treat their chronic illnesses.
"AIDS in Africa results from malnutrition, the consequent release of endogenous cortisol, and opportunistic diseases. Atrophy in the thymus and lymphoid tissue in people suffering from malnutrition has been known since 1925; malnutrition also impairs T cells function. Feeding an adequate diet reverses these changes. It cures AIDS! Thymus size in malnourished children increased from 20% of normal to 107% of normal, after nine weeks of feeding.
"The medications currently used to treat patients with AIDS, such as AZT, protease inhibitors, and glucocorticoids are highly toxic.4 They can cause AIDS in asymptomatic patients; they worsen the condition of AIDS patients and can even lead to their death." 5
These forms of AIDS can be avoided and reversed by learning what drugs create them, avoiding high doses and long-term use, and stopping use of anti-HIV drugs.
