If you've ever heard of "The Yeast Connection: A Medical Breakthrough," or any of the other best-selling books in the line dealing with yeast-related problems, you've heard of William Crook, M.D., the author.
Honored by Mothering Magazine in 1999 as a "Living Treasure," Dr. Crook was a pediatrician - caring for patients since 1949 -- who crusaded tirelessly across the nation and world to help people understand the importance of diet and health. He once said that, "Unfortunately, more attention is given to the fuel we put in our automobile's gas tank than to the fuel we give our children." He dedicated his life to changing that.
Dr. Crook was also my personal friend and my first mentor, helping me recognize that there were other physicians who were passionate about nutrition's potential to reverse disease. He passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2002. We will all miss him.
