A review of the common sources of aluminum for humans found that antiperspirant use can significantly increase the amount of aluminum absorbed by the body. According to the review, after a single underarm application of antiperspirant, about .012 percent of the aluminum may be absorbed.
Other concerning sources of aluminum to humans are food, drinking water, contaminated air, and industrial and medicinal, such as vaccines, exposure.
Pharmacological Toxicology April, 2001;88(4):159-67
The aluminum that is absorbed by your body from a typical antiperspirant adds up over time, and that aluminum can and does go straight to your brain where it can play havoc, as aluminum has been widely associated with Alzheimer's disease.
Personally, I stopped using antiperspirant nearly 20 years ago. All I do is use simple soap and water, and it works splendidly. Interestingly, those stains that occurred on my shirts stopped on all my new shirts as it was due to an interaction with the antiperspirant and my sweat, not the sweat alone.
Deodorants aren't as bad, but I would also avoid using them unless it was made from some form of baking soda.
I posted an article recently, which showed that there will be 16 million with Alzheimer's by the time many of you who are reading this will be elderly (2050). Fortunately, there are simple things you can do to prevent Alzheimer's.
Exercise is a very potent way to ward off Alzheimer's. Previous research showed, the odds of developing Alzheimer's were nearly quadrupled in people who were less active during their leisure time, between the ages of 20 and 60, compared with their peers. That is one of the reasons why I have been exercising for the last 34 years and, God willing, hope to continue for another 50.
Getting the mercury amalgams out of your teeth is another effective strategy to avoiding Alzheimer's, along with avoiding aluminum--these are the classic recommendations.
Following The No-Grain Diet and eating plenty of fresh vegetables with high folate levels are other practical strategies.
In other words, the key to the treatment of Alzheimer's is to make sure you never get it. So just how do you prevent Alzheimer's?

That is not completely true. I live in the south once I changed my diet to organic and locally grown foods the stench has pretty much dissappeared I also exercise and take better care of myself. I do not use deodorant. Sometimes I use baking soda or cornstarch. I do notice underarm odor on a day following eating out at a restaurant or holiday family gatherings when I am not adhering to my regular diet. What you consume does make a difference.
I totally agree with you!.I drastically changed my diet 3 months ago and at first I would have a pretty bad smell at times due to ( I think) detoxing or my bodies reaction to change now I sweat and dont have a smell at all except like you said if I go out have some wine or eat something out that is a little against my normal eating .then next day when I run I have the smell again ..but normally for a day .What you consume DOES make a difference.
Now I have a spray bottle with a little AVC organic and water and I just spray under my arms before I head out the door and it works for me.
I"m amazed at the range of topics that are clearly and cogently presented for about any health question you could ask. This one is just another EXAMPLE!! DId you guys who always say Mercola is just a good huckster, NOTICE that he recommended plain old soap and water for the ubiquitous underarm problem?? Thanks, again Dr. Mercola! ~ Librarygal59
I tried soap & water for a while and people always noticed that I stink esp. later in the day. I tell them deoderant is bad for you and they just laughed and my boss put in a new code of conduct saying all workers need to shower(of course!! i do that any ways) and also wear deoderant. I need Help!!! I dont want to compromise my health but I also dont want to stink @ work and get adverse treatment there. (I also have to walk 4 blocks to the city bus then walk andother 2 blocks to the job and I cant afford a car)
This will not entirely eliminate your problem, though I think it will help a lot - shave your armpits (unless you are female, in which case you probably already do) and yes, as Let.Love.Be says, the natural crystal based deoderants are good too
I totally changed my diet and in the beginning I would smell a little from what I think was my body detoxing.
now I dont have any smell.I use a spray bottle with acv and water and dont have any problems. If I eat something that is against my normal diet ,the next day I do have a smell but usually only one day.Btw I dont consume anything from a cow and I only eat veggies, fruits, beans ,nuts and seeds .If I were to eat meat I know for sure I would smell.
Go to the health food store and get a "natural crystal" based deoderant. They seem to work the best, and I have tried just about all brands. Carefully read the ingredients at the health food store too - many products contain toxic parabens.
I also agree with Ms. Cheryl . We love and appreiciate hearing the truth about products but " The Secret" is just another lie. Oprah has been led and is leading people astray.
