Overweight pets face many of the same health challenges of overweight humans, including an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and other health problems.

One-third of the U.S. population is obese, so its no surprise that one-quarter of our pets are also obese.
A large part of this increase is a shift away from natural foods and a focus on cereal-based diets. Just like humans, most pets don't do very well on a high-grain diet. It causes an imbalance in their insulin levels just like it does with ours. The Bones and Raw Food Diet (BARF) is a popular raw food alternative that many pet owners are raving about.
Humans can find help by looking over my nutrition plan and then following the advice given in my book, The No-Grain Diet.

The inset appears to move. Joro-gumo stands for "a kind of spider".
