Obesity is the fastest growing health threat in the United
States, where two-thirds of adults are either overweight or
obese, and experts from all over the world are striving to
determine the best way to combat this condition.
Just last week, U.S. government officials opposed a World
Health Organization (WHO) plan to fight obesity worldwide
by targeting junk food and soft drinks. The WHO plan would
require the food industry to cut the levels of sugar and fat
in its products, while TV junk food commercials--especially
those aimed at children--would also be reduced. U.S. officials
objected, saying there is no firm proof that sugar and processed
foods are the main cause of obesity, and diet was a matter
of individual responsibility.
It is reprehensible that the US government could capitulate
to the influence of the sugar industry and oppose the WHO
recommendation to reduce the amount of sugar people eat. Nevertheless,
has been my experience that most people who are obese are
not happy about it and would like to return to a healthy weight.
Also, it is imperative to cut down on sugar and grains, which
are converted to sugar in the body, if you want to lose weight
and be healthy--this is true whether government regulations
require it of the food industry or not.
Of course this is much easier said than done for some people,
and there are certainly other important factors in treating
obesity, such as regular exercise and resolving emotional
challenges, but what I want to propose to anyone and everyone
who is trying to reach their ideal weight is a system that
will allow you to eat what you want and still lose weight,
and, even better, achieve real health benefits.
This system is nutritional typing, and regular newsletter readers
have likely heard of it before. The premise is that when you
eat the foods that are right for your nutritional type, you
will feel satisfied and your cravings for sugar and other
unhealthy foods will disappear. With this, you will have overcome
one of the most difficult aspects of losing weight--the desire
to keep eating unhealthy foods. If this sounds too good to
be true, I encourage you to read my past article on 10
Profound Ways nutritional typing Will Help Your Health.
To get full details on this essential principle and to assess
your nutritional type, I highly encourage you to read my new
book, My Total Health Program: 150 Delicious Grain-Free Recipes
& Proven nutritional type Plan to Prevent Disease, Optimize
Weight and Live Longer. Along with 150
brand-new delicious and very nutritious low-carb recipes
geared toward your nutritional type, the book includes a test
and the means to learn and understand your own nutritional type
and gear your diet precisely toward the foods that are right
for you.
It will also teach you how to "listen to your body,"
that is, it will teach you how to subtly adjust and fine-tune
the amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates you eat so
that you feel your best. I am so certain that this book will
help you to achieve your goals that it comes with a lifetime
guarantee, so you really have nothing to lose by trying it--other
than extra pounds.
