As a way to capitalize on the low-carb diets, PepsiCo plans to introduce their new soda called Pepsi Edge, which will have 50 percent less the sugar and carbohydrates than its regular cola.
Market research has found that ever since approximately 3.6 percent of the U.S. population has been following low-carb diets, restaurants have been coming up with selections that are compatible with their diets. This is a major development for the U.S. beverage industry and acts as a response to the consumer concerns of calories and carbohydrates.
Pepsi Edge will consist of a combination of Splenda, an artificial sweetener, and high fructose corn syrup for sweeteners. It will target those consumers who are counting calories but don’t want to switch to diet beverages. The key to success involves cutting back 50 percent of the calories without sacrificing the taste.
Coca-Cola Co. also plans to introduce their own mid-calorie soda called Coke Ultra. Pepsi’s move to make a mid-calorie drink mirrored the beer industry, where Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. has found its low-carbohydrate answer with the winning Michelob Ultra.

For those of you unable to decide which is worse for you, sugar or artificial sweeteners, Pepsi has now made it easier for you by coming out with a new drink that will contain both.
Just keep in mind that no soda is good for you. Avoid being sucked in by all the hype. Splenda is NOT good for you as it is loaded with many potential dangers. Folks, this is such a huge issue that I will have written about it in my next book that I will hopefully have out later this year on Splenda and its dangers.
So, do your body a favor and stick with healthy water. Getting off of soda is one of the easiest and most powerful first steps to staying healthy.
You can even try opting for Whey Protein with Aminogen® or Pea Protein. Both are tasty drink that will help to increase your energy and your health, unlike soda. Though, I highly recommend mixing fruit and milk with Pea Protein to enchance the taste and nutritional value.

I like the original green Living Fuel RX better than the pink Berry Living Fuel. As someone who has dairy sensitivities, I also appreciate that Living Fuel is dairy-free.
Another healthy drink is kombucha.
I hate how our society is currently obsessed with the amount of calories we intake. It is more important to intake healthy food at a higher calorie rate than unhealthy food at a lower calorie rate. For example, I always hear of people eating the soft drink or burger with the lower calories (and they think they're doing their body good), but it reality they are not helping themselves. On the other side, I eat about 7 to 8 meals daily. But my meals mostly consist of fresh organic fruits, vegetables, water, fresh meats, beans, nuts, dark green leafy foods, whipped butter for fats, etc, and I'm in great shape, but I consume more than the average person because I exercise constantly. Sigh, I'm ranting on, but I just wish people would understand that they could be healthier by choosing what's healthy to put into their bodies instead of just choosing the unhealthy foods with the lower calorie rate.
