This is merely an extension of the sugar industry's resistance to this proposal. The closest analogy I can think of is the tobacco industry seeking to stall WHO initiatives to help people stop smoking. The only problem here is that I believe that sugar is more dangerous to your health than smoking.
The only way that the sugar industry is able to get away with this is that they are a major player in U.S. politics. It is a proven fact that sugar increases insulin levels, which can lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, premature aging and many more negative side effects.
Controlling insulin levels is one of the most important things you can do to optimize your health, and avoiding sugar is essential to accomplishing this goal.
Cutting out grains and sugar from your diet is one of the most critical steps you can take to maintaining healthy insulin levels. You can read the details on how this will affect your health, as well as get some practical tips on how to make the transition, in my new book, Dr. Mercolas Total Health Program.
The book will also provide you with 150 nutritious, tasty no-grain recipes that will help you keep your weight at an optimal level and ward off chronic diseases like diabetes.
