Cranberries Can Prevent Tooth Decay

Cranberries may be the key to treating a plethora of health-related conditions. In order to discover the benefits of this Native American fruit, researches conducted a number of studies. Some of the areas of interest include:

  • Bacterial anti-adhesion
  • High antioxidant capacity
  • Heart health
  • Anti-cancer properties

Proving Cranberry Power

In a related study, researchers proved that a beverage containing 25 percent cranberry juice inhibited bacteria from binding and accumulating on an artificial tooth by 67-85 percent. This led researchers to suggest that cranberry dental floss and toothpaste might ultimately provide consumers with a healthier smile.

Further, cranberries have naturally high levels of antioxidants. One benefit is that these high levels may provide protection against cardiovascular disease. One study demonstrated how a low-calorie cranberry juice decreased total blood cholesterol, while another observed an increase in HDL. Researchers also suggested that an antioxidant mechanism found in cranberries might help reduce the severity of a stroke.

Finally, researchers claim that cranberries may help prevent certain cancers, due to their antioxidant profile. In fact, it was suggested that cranberries inhibit growth of the following cancer cells:

  • Prostate
  • Colon
  • Breast
  • Cervical
  • Lung
  • Leukemia

It is important to remember that cranberries contain a chock full of phytochemical antioxidants that have numerous health benefits. Along with their well-known usefulness in treating urinary-tract infections, cranberries also protect against cancer, stroke and heart disease.

The problem is that many people associate cranberries with store-bought cranberry juice. And although most traditional cranberry juice purchased in the store likely works for urinary tract infections I would not advise using it.

The main reason is that it, like all fruit juices, is high in fructose, which is metabolized quickly and disrupts insulin levels, which contributes to most chronic illness. Therefore, I would not use store-bought cranberry juice as your source of cranberries, as it will ultimately weaken your immune system and overall health.

Instead, I recommend the active ingredient in cranberry juice, a carbohydrate called mannose. In the past, mannose has been difficult to obtain due to costs and manufacturing capabilities. The pure, high-quality form has just recently become commercially available as a natural supplement, and now I can finally offer it to you!

ClearTract D-Mannose is not a drug. This nutritional supplement occurs naturally in peaches, apples, and berries. D-Mannose is a rare saccharide found in some plant and food substances -- and we even produce it in our own bodies. Non-toxic and safe, ClearTract D-Mannose:

  • Supports a healthy urinary tract
  • Is 10- 50 times stronger than cranberry!
  • Produces rapid action in as little as 24-48 hours
  • Does not kill friendly bacteria
  • Is safe for long term use -- neutral pH
  • Is 100% all natural D-Mannose and nothing else
  • Is the strongest natural urinary tract product available

The mannose actually adheres to the receptors on the lining of the bladder that attach to the bacteria. This forces the bacteria to slide right off and into the toilet. It is amazingly effective, but you must remember it is only a Band-Aid, though a far safer one than prophylactic antibiotic use or cranberry juice.

D-Mannose may work for mild UTIs, but it is important to note that if it is not working you will want to consider the use of an antibiotic, as the infection can spread into your kidneys and cause some very serious damage if left untreated.

And remember, the BEST way to consume cranberries, and achieve the maximum health benefits from these fruits, is by eating them whole and raw. Also, they taste especially great when added to vegetable juice.
