By Gary Craig, Emotional Freedom Techniques

Dear Dr. Mercola,

In a recent article, you reviewed a study that found drinking pasteurized milk increases a middle-aged man's possibility of developing Parkinson's disease. Although you suggested environmental toxins and the process of pasteurization are likely contributors to those findings, we have discovered through clinical studies with the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that emotional trauma can also contribute to the onset of Parkinson's disease.

Below I have included two examples of EFT applied to Parkinson's disease where encouraging results have been measured in only one session.

At our Mastering EFT Workshop in Dallas, I demonstrated the application of EFT on a man who suffers from Parkinson's disease with very definite results. The initial conversation revealed some frustration with his two adopted children who suffer from Reactive Attachment Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, but further discussion showed that his adoption of the children and the Parkinson's diagnosis coincided almost exactly.

His shaking was repeatedly measured, and fluctuated throughout the session, but became noticeably worse when the painful memories were uncovered.

Deeper investigation revealed the patient had some issues with his own father that he didn't realize, and was repeating the same fathering methods with his adopted children, which were proving especially unsuccessful due to their emotional handicaps.

Ultimately, the shaking began to subside as EFT was used to relieve the emotional issues between the patient and his own father.

At the end of the session, the shaking had stopped completely in his left hand and subsided considerably in his left leg. The patient had chosen to forego his medication for our session and remained without his medication through the end of the day without suffering any of the symptoms he would have expected without the help of medication.

This second example comes from Henry Davies, an EFT practitioner, and illustrates this technique can be very effective, even when applied by a newcomer.

"I have been a care worker in England for the past two years. I have started studying EFT and exploring its uses mostly on myself. I am still a relative beginner ... However, I recently tried EFT on an 83-year-old man who is totally paralyzed and unable to speak as a result of Parkinson's disease ...

After two rounds of tapping he was able to open his hand completely and grip a glass, as well as raise it to about the height of his chin. He then placed the glass back on the table without faltering in the slightest. We were both completely astonished at this result ...

We then proceeded with holding a pen. Another two rounds of tapping and several attempts at writing, he was able to write his name in perfectly formed characters. His wife confirmed that for years he had only been able to scribble lines ... "

EFT is most commonly known as an alternative, drug-free treatment for common everyday ailments, but we have discovered that it can provide surprising relief for serious diseases as well. Our recent series of Mastering EFT Workshops has focused entirely on diseases including Parkinson's, cancer, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and chronic fatigue syndrome, with impressive relief across the board.

In these workshops, significant emotional trauma proved to be a definite cause in every case, as the relief experienced by these patients coincided directly with the clearing of their unresolved issues. Although serious diseases like Parkinson's don't usually fall into the "one-minute wonder" category for EFT, the possibilities for healing these diseases, living a life without constant medication and enjoying the longevity that accompanies natural health are all encouraging reasons to keep looking deeper for the causes of the illness.
