Medline-labeled alcohol-free mouthwash has been tested and found positive for the bacteria Burkholderia cepacia. As a result, the product is being recalled.
The mouthwash was distributed to hospitals and medical centers across the nation. The Centers for Disease Control has confirmed hospital illnesses in two states resulting from the use of the affected mouthwash.
The bacteria pose little risk to healthy people, but those with certain health problems, such as weakened immune systems and chronic lung diseases, are more susceptible to B. cepacia infection.
This makes the bacteria a problem in hospitals, especially since they are often resistant to many antibiotics. B. cepacia can cause serious respiratory infections, particularly in patients with cystic fibrosis.
Earlier this month, I told you about the horror story surrounding the accidental use of hydraulic fluid to clean surgical instruments at two Duke University hospitals and how it harmed the health of at least 50 patients treated there.
It's not hard to find these types of errors since the conventional medical system is the number one cause of death in America. That may seem harsh, but read the article, the stats are there. Dr. Gary Null spent tens of thousands of dollars to write that article to document and uncover this truth.
Part of the problem is that deaths are typically categorized by the organ system that fails, not by the true cause of death. For the 60,000 people that died from Vioxx, you will not find them listed as death due to a drug but deaths due to heart attacks, which absolutely distorts the truth.
Remember that, in reality, it is the conventional medical system, not heart disease or cancer, which is the leading cause of death in this country.
Mistakes committed in hospitals contribute to the number of needless and preventable deaths each year in this country, and is one of the reasons you never want to be a patient in the hospital if you can in any way avoid it.
I am happy to report that although I have spent thousands of hours in the hosptial in my medical training, I have never been a patient in the hospital, other than for my birth. Hopefully, by applying the principles of the Total Health Program, you will be able to do the same.
