Where's the bathroom? Are food sensitivities giving you gas, bloating, and diarrhea? If so, the one good thing about it is that you know the location of every public washroom in your neighborhood.
Perhaps the best you can do is avoid foods that you can't tolerate, but it's difficult. Sometimes you have a reaction to hidden additives in foods and you might not even know what's causing your reaction. You just know that you react.
Or maybe your body reacts to chemicals, scents and pollutants. That kind of sensitivity can put you in a brain fog ... make you feel dizzy ... nauseous ... even angry. And as you go about your day, you just never know what you might come across ... perfumes ... pollutants ... petroleum. If only there was a way to eliminate your substance sensitivities.
One Technique Can Eliminate Both Food and Chemical Sensitivities
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) might be your ticket to freedom. It's not perfect (around 80 percent effective) but if you have food sensitivities like lactose intolerance, or reactions to chemical exposures, EFT can likely help you.
The theory is that your body can't tolerate certain substances because they interfere with the subtle energies of your body. For many, this is commonsense thinking. After all, the practice of acupuncture is based on the concept of blocks or disruptions in the body's energy meridian system. But EFT takes acupuncture to a new level ... you can do it yourself.
EFT is acupuncture without needles. You tap certain acupuncture points with your own fingertips to balance your energy meridians. If it sounds easy ... it is. Anybody can learn the basics of EFT and achieve lasting results. There are no drugs involved and no known side effects.
You can finally be free from these distressing and debilitating reactions to food or chemicals ... like Shirley in the story below ... she had severe lactose intolerance for 10 years and it completely vanished with 12 minutes of EFT.
If substance sensitivities are limiting your choices, the best thing you can do for yourself is learn EFT. While a complete description is beyond the scope of this article, you can learn all the basics from the free Get Started Package on the EFT Web site. This includes a free download of the 79-page EFT Manual. Those wishing to save time and dive right in can get the affordable five-star training DVDs.
EFT is Put to the Ultimate Test With a 10-Year Lactose Intolerance Case

Lactose Intolerance (LI) is an explosive issue. Other than avoiding all things dairy -- there was nothing that this LI sufferer could do. Until EFT.
Chiropractor Dr. Larry Stewart watched his wife Shirley suffer with the pain, diarrhea, discomfort and the embarrassment of lactose intolerance for more than 10 years. Nothing, not even medications or hypnotherapy, provided her any relief.
Larry was new to EFT, but was determined to give it a try. Their expectation of success was low. After all, their understanding of LI was that people with it are missing the necessary enzymes to digest dairy products. So, without those enzymes, it was considered impossible to achieve true relief.
Larry and Shirley planned their EFT session, timing it so that she could easily stay near the toilet for several days in case the EFT didn't work. They set the stage with a bowl of ice cream and Shirley felt anxious just looking at it, knowing what it could potentially do to her. She had not had ice cream in years because of its intense effect on her digestive system.
They spent a total of about 12 minutes performing EFT for Shirley's lactose intolerance. When they felt like they had covered everything, she enjoyed the bowl of ice cream and prepared for the worst. If you have LI, you know that the explosive effect of eating a creamy dairy product is almost instantaneous.
But for Shirley, relief was almost instant. Larry reported, "The first hour passed. Wow. No problem. Then half the day passed. Double Wow! Still no problem."
Shirley left the house that afternoon to do some errands with no problem. For dinner she ate creamy salad dressing and ice cream for dessert. Four days later, after cream soup, ice cream and chocolate milk, Shirley still had absolutely no reaction.
Six months later, Larry reported that Shirley still had no problems with dairy products and regularly enjoyed foods that would have normally given her extreme distress, like pizza. While she was maintaining a common sense attitude about eating dairy, she was certainly no longer at risk for consuming foods with hidden dairy ingredients.
EFT Also Provided Relief From Intestinal Reaction to FoodAadditives
However, they did notice that Shirley occasionally suffered with bouts of diarrhea and bloating even when she had not eaten dairy. They narrowed it down to a reaction to preservatives, with the worst culprit being the preservative in frozen french fries and salad bar vegetables. Shirley would normally have a "blow out" within 20 minutes of eating the offending foods.
Encouraged by their success with LI, and armed with a packet of fast food fries, they performed EFT for about 10 minutes. This treatment effectively cleared Shirley's reaction to the preservative and she was free of the untimely bouts of diarrhea when eating in restaurants.
Nobody is suggesting that you replace common sense with EFT. Some food reactions are more than intolerances ... they can be life-threatening food allergies. While EFT has been known to eliminate anaphylactic reactions, you still need to avoid foods that cause such reactions.
But if you do EFT for the foods that are giving you grief, you just might find you don't react, even if you eat them by accident.
