While EFT can be tried for "everything," it should not be used as a primary solution when obvious and simple nutritional changes can correct the problem at a more foundational level. If you suffer with eczema please review my dietary advice about this, which has worked near miracles for many who suffer with this condition.
Stop that scratching! If you have eczema or any other skin condition, you know that itching and scratching are a vicious cycle and scratching only causes further injury to the affected area. But what are you supposed to do ... you're itching!
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, eczema is a complex skin condition that can be hard to distinguish from other skin disorders. Eczema cannot be cured, and they say "a treatment plan that works for one person may not effectively control eczema in another person. Sometimes it takes a bit of detective work to find an effective treatment plan."
In contrast, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a single, simple solution for healing any skin condition ... there is no need for a complex diagnosis ... there are no medications involved ... and no side effects.
You can learn the basics of EFT now and stop that incessant itching. If other members of your family have eczema (they say it is genetic) ... it can help them too. EFT isn't perfect in that it doesn't obliterate eczema for everyone, but it is effective about 80 percent of the time. The rate is even higher in the hands of an EFT expert.
EFT is unique because it targets skin conditions at the source. No, it doesn't alter your genetics but it does balance your body's meridian system (the same energy system used in acupuncture).
This may be a new concept for you, but it is a commonsense approach to illnesses and conditions that have no known cause and no cure in Western medicine. The theory behind EFT ... and acupuncture ... is that an imbalance in your body's meridian system can result in illness, disease or disorder ... in this case eczema. EFT easily corrects that imbalance.
Stop Scratching and Start Tapping
By using your fingers to tap a simple series of acupuncture points, you may quickly find relief from the itching that is driving you mad. EFT often works when nothing else will ... and if you have had eczema since childhood, you are painfully aware that nothing else has worked.
One EFT Session Eliminates the Itching of Eczema ... and it Doesn't Return
You can read this case in more detail on the EFT Web site
Rachel (whose name has been changed to protect privacy) was a middle-aged woman seeking treatment for decades-long, severe eczema. Over the years she tried all the treatment options ... but nothing gave her lasting relief from the itching. Eventually, she turned to homeopathic doctor, and EFT practitioner, Tam Llewellyn-Edwards in the United Kingdom for help.
Tam prescribed a homeopathic remedy and a week later, Rachel reported that the itching had stopped. Itching is one of the most horrible symptoms of eczema ... it can be impossible to avoid scratching ... but that opens up wounds and damages the skin. Rachel was relieved of the itching with the homeopathic remedy ... but the relief didn't last.
Rachel and her itching skin returned to Tam ... but this time her skin condition was accompanied by depression. She had hoped that the itching would be gone for good but now it was back in full force and the disappointment affected her at a deep emotional level. They tried another treatment with the homeopathic remedy, but to no avail.
Rachel's depression deepened and she phoned Tam for an emergency appointment after a day of tears and violent scratching.
Rachel needed immediate relief from the itching. Tam decided to do EFT with Rachel and address her constant urge to scratch. On a scale of 1-10, Rachel's urge to scratch was at a hefty 8. After just one round of EFT (about 2 minutes) her urge to scratch had fallen to a 4 ... and one more application of EFT brought it down to zero!
To test the results, Tam invited Rachel to have a scratch ... she declined. She said that scratching hurt her and that she did not need to scratch as the itching had gone away. Then Rachel burst out laughing, had a short cry, and left the clinic giggling to herself. A month later the itching had not returned and there was no more eczema ... and the same was true after a two-month follow-up.
Most experts say there is no cure for eczema. Nonetheless, EFT often provides impressive results for skin disorders of all kinds, including eczema, psoriasis and others. EFT often works when nothing else will and provides lasting relief about 80 percent of the time ... that's pretty good odds when you're dealing with presumably incurable conditions.
While a complete description of EFT is beyond the scope of this article, you can learn all the basics from the free EFT Get Started Package on the EFT Web site.
