Most Americans believe they're living a healthy lifestyle -- including eating well and exercising enough -- according to a survey of 400 U.S. adults by Kinetix Living.
However, research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tell a different story. According to the CDC, only three out of 10 Americans exercise as much as they should, and 60 percent are overweight.
While 85 percent of the survey participants believe they live a healthy lifestyle, 47 percent said they have some knowledge of how to eat nutritionally but don't do so consistently. The survey also found that:
39 percent of the participants eat three or less times a day
27 percent eat five or six times a day
32 percent believe you must be exhausted at the end of a cardio workout in order for it to be effective
51 percent said they exercise a few times a week
61 percent said they believe you should get 30 minutes of exercise daily to maintain a healthy lifestyle As for not eating healthy, 82 percent of respondents blame it on not enough time or eating out too often.
