Eating healthily on the road can often be difficult. Discovery Health recently unveiled their list of the top 10 rules to eat well and maintain your health while traveling, including:
- Pack your own food. If you spend a lot of time in your car, consider buying a small cooler.
- Plan Ahead. Before getting on a plane or a train, eat a healthy breakfast.
- Get the healthier menu items at fast food restaurants, such as grilled fish, chicken salad or a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch or dinner.
- Avoid late-night eating. Consuming calories late at night is an easy way to gain weight.
- Watch your alcohol intake. Keep to one glass of wine with meals, and avoid hard liquor.
- Maintain your exercise regimen.
