Researchers in Italy have invented a new form of diet pill. The pill is composed of an extremely absorbent powder that expands to more than 1,000 times its original size when water is added. As a result, once eaten, it swells inside your stomach.
The pill, washed down with two glasses of water, creates a tennis ball-sized lump in the stomach, making dieters feel full. It was tested on 20 people last year, and is currently being tested on an additional 90 people.
The results of the latest round of tests are not due until October, but the pill has already won financing, and could be sold as soon as next May.
