This is Dr. Mercola, and today, I‘ve got some very important information for you. So, please listen very carefully. If you have not yet watched the movie, The Future of Food, please do so. It is clearly one of the most important videos I‘ve ever posted on the site. If you haven‘t watched it yet, there‘s a link on this page that will take you to it. If you have already watched it, you may want to watch it again to remind you of the enormous potential for danger from genetically-modified (GM) foods and why we should be concerned about it. It is clearly, in my view, one of the largest threats to the very sustainability of the human race that we face. You see, if this genetically-modified genie gets out of the bottle, it may be too late to turn back.
Now, I don‘t want to spend a lot of time going into specific details of this. But basically, there are fundamentally-flawed safety assumptions made by the FDA that have been proven to be essentially untrue, and the dangers and risks have been absolutely underestimated. So, please watch this movie to understand the risk.
The purpose of bringing your attention to this is not to alarm you, or cause you to be in fear, because there is something we can do. Several years ago, in Europe, there was a campaign to educate the consumer, and it was successful! You see, because there was so much consumer awareness, they were actually able to put pressure on the food industry, and as a result, they no longer produce genetically-modified foods in Europe. We can do the same thing here.
One of the biggest weapons that the food industry has in pushing the GM foods to the American public is consumer ignorance. You see, over two-thirds of the population believe they have never eaten genetically-modified foods, and that‘s just not true. It‘s virtually impossible not to eat them here in the U.S. because the vast majority of soy and corn produced in the U.S. are genetically modified and are pervasive in our food supply. Any type of commercially-produced soda (and most Americans drink soda) is going to contain genetically-modified food products.
Clearly, there is cause for concern here. I believe it‘s a major threat to the very future sustainability of the human race. So, though it may sound overstated, that‘s what I believe after viewing the evidence. I don‘t know if you‘ve had the opportunity to review the information and studies regarding this. But I‘m convinced it‘s a significant threat, and it‘s presented under the guise of seeking to provide you with less-expensive food and a whole variety of other benefits. This is a classic example of a "wolf in sheep‘s clothing" because this technology is potentially very dangerous.
I am so committed to seeing GM food removed from our food supply, that I am aligning myself with Jeffrey Smith, who is clearly one of the strongest advocates for educating consumers worldwide, and certainly here in the U.S. He recently returned from a whirlwind tour of a number of countries in Europe and South America, where he educated various institutions and organizations about this threat.
In fact, he has put together a campaign that is designed to eliminate genetically-modified foods from the U.S. within the next two years. He‘s doing this with very precise, strategic initiatives that are designed to educate the U.S. consumer, helping them to gain a clearer perspective on the issue of GM foods. To help accomplish this goal, he has aligned himself with a number of organizations.
I‘m convinced that he can do it. Unfortunately, in some respects, he is a one-man show, and basically has a very low-budget organization. It‘s just sad to see him have to struggle, putting out so much effort for us all and our descendents as well. So, I have decided to commit to helping Jeffrey in this campaign.
Now, I‘ve never asked for donations before, but now, I‘m doing it, because I think this is such an important effort. I want you to know that I‘m not just asking you to donate, but I‘m also donating from the funds we receive here at Mercola.com. Most of you don‘t know this, but 10 percent of our profits are actually donated to The Mercola Foundation, and so we‘re able to fund strategic initiatives to help improve the health of the U.S. and, actually, the transition into a system that‘s not dependent upon the fatally-flawed assumptions of the conventional medical system. This is a very good place to start making efforts in that direction.
If you are able to donate any funds to this project, we here at Mercola.com, and Jeffrey Smith, will give you special bonuses for doing so. We want you to know that campaign funds are donated directly on Jeffrey‘s website, not on ours; he is collecting the funds. For every dollar that‘s donated, we will match it dollar for dollar. So, hopefully, we can start to provide Jeffrey with some additional resources, which he‘ll need to help end genetically-modified foods in this country.
I am convinced that once you see the movie, The Future of Food, you‘ll be compelled to act. Please watch this movie, and once you have, read this page to find out about the bonuses we‘re offering you for donating.

I strongly encourage you to take some positive, specific action on this important issue, so that we can help educate consumers, so that everyone can continue to take control of their health.
