Best Positions in Bed

You know, scientists claim to have found a direct link between your preferred sleeping position and your personality. Sleeping in "fetus" position, for example, points toward being a shy, sensitive soul. If you sleep spread eagle-style, on your back, you‘re supposedly a good listener.

Well. I guess this little feline must be a great listener!

But, I wonder what they would say about sleeping curled up in a frying pan... or face-first in your food... (And you thought this was going to be "dirty" -- get your mind out of the gutter!)

It’s obvious these critters have no problem falling, or staying, asleep. How about you?

If these pictures are the best sleep you’ve seen in a while, read on, because I’ve got a couple of indispensable tips for you!

If you have sleep problems, whether you’re unable to fall asleep, wake up throughout the night, don‘t feel well-rested when the alarm goes off, or simply want to improve the quality and quantity of your sleep, take the time to review my sleep guide, “33 Secrets to a Good Night’s Sleep.”

It contains -- you guessed it -- thirty-three simple, but effective techniques that can help you get the sleep you want, and need. Because, don’t forget, sleep is a vital component of your overall health. Lack of sleep can fuel such varied health problems as:

I recommend you try out several of them, until you find a combination that works for you.

Another truly invaluable tool that has proven effective for insomnia is the Insight and Focus Audio CD‘s.

As a physician I have treated tens of thousands of chronically ill patients at my clinic, The Optimal Wellness Center, and overwhelmingly, the number one cause of illness has been stress. Stress also tops the list when it comes to pinning down the cause of insomnia and other sleep disturbances.

The Insight and Focus Audio CDs uses multiple harmonically layered frequencies to induce natural brainwave patterns. The soothing sound of rain, with an unrivaled, harmonically layered combination of frequencies and binaural beats seamlessly induce an amazingly powerful state of deep relaxation.

All it takes is 20 minutes – and then you too may find yourself snoring into the bottom of an old slipper…

"The information in Dr Mercola‘s newsletter has benefited me and my family. I have personally benefited from the EFT material I ordered, a tremendous and effective healing tool. The most dramatic help came from the Insight CD I learned of on the newsletter and ordered from Mercola.com.

I work a lot of long hours and a lot of nights and getting enough sleep was a big problem that was interfering with my physical health as well as making me hard to deal with when I could not get enough sleep.

The Insight CD has made a major difference and I now go to sleep immediately by using it daily. Thank you for all the help and information, Joseph

The part that made ME smile most was Dr. Mercola's comment:  "Lack of sleep can fuel such varied health problems as: Imparied memory, Cancer, Diabetes, Physical Injuries.  I recommend you try out several of them, until you find a combination that works for you."  Just sort of came out wrong, didn't it?

These MADE MY DAY.  It will be  tough one cause I am going to visit hospitalized friend (pneumonia and newly recurrent leukemia).

I wish I had the photo developed of my "newest" kitten, who at the time of the photo was 1#, standing between (Sassenach and Samwise Gamgee) my 70# dogs and eating out of (Samwise Gamgee's) dish.  THEY "found" him out in the yard and "pointed" him out to my son who brought him to Mom.  Stray mom dropped a litter I guess of which we SAW 2 but could never get our hands on them. The dogs did and still love and kiss the little bugger WHEN he stays still long enough.  He definitely was not walking in the "valley of the shadow of death" with my two dogs.  He has two protectors.  The other three cats, Lunzie, Princess and Sheba still have their noses "slightlly out of joint.

ADOPT a pet, live longer AND laugh longer.

Ok, yes i loved the pics, & i love that this site is not only health specific but also many areas of life (that contribute to living happy & healthy).  I love the pics.

I must be innocent, i didn't think sex.  I thought, "Back sleeping?  Side sleeper?"  & it wan't until the comment of getting your mind out of the gutter that i realized most folks think sex.

I guess i just love sex & my husband so much that it didn't occur to me . . .

KateeRoux, I am 52 and I was thinking:  "Good-new ideas for positions for us older folks to stop snoring, wake up pain-free, get deeper sleep, etc!"  :)

Me too Katee - I was waiting to hear what it means to be a tummy sleeper...

Beautiful photos sure put a smile on my face, much better than a lot of the "funnies" that wind up in my inbox.

Good grief Reesacat, since when did 52 become "us older folks"; the only thing old about 52 is when you have that attitude!  Do you have a few more aches and pains than when you did when you were 30???? sure, but please, don't call those of us over 50 "older folks!".

Thank you Dr. Mercola for sharing such delightful pictures.  I just heard that Michael Vick, the famous quarterback will plead quilty to hosting vicious dog fights and gambling, perhaps we should send these photos to him . . . . not that he could possible have a heart and think the pics are precious.  Instead of jail time, maybe he should be locked in a room with his animals for a few days, wonder what would happen?  Just a thought.

This is NOT what I expected when I opened this article. I am such a sucker for sleeping animals. This is a wlecome change from the moslly depressing and frustrating health stories. By the way, sex is NOT dirty. It is a vital part of life. Where would we be without it?

rablpn -
.... Thanks for what you stated about sex. .... I wanted to say something along those lines as well. ... I think it is sad to read or hear sex being referred to as "dirty" . .. There is nothing dirty about it. (except within the mind of ignorance, shame and fear).

.. Sex is one of, if not THE most powerful and beautiful aspects of this life that there is.

I'm with you raplpn, the pictures made me smile. Unfortunately, the media ("dirty" magazines, movies, etc) has turned a beautiful and natural part of life into something cheap and shameful in many peoples lives.

The two shall become one. Intimacy is the end result and closest form of love in a healthy relationship while ending up in total and complete surrender to each other. Observe the pics of complete peace and trust in these adorable animal pics. Many things contribute to such a wonderful result. One of them being trust and the other dying to self...thinking of your spouse in a way which allows these uninhibited emotions to surface.  Enjoy!!!

Blessings

Dr. Trudy
